5 π΄πππ-πΎππππ π―πππππππππ π²πππππ π«πππππ - For Your Watchlist
Thinking up the idea of sharing five Must-Watch historical korean dramas made me realize I haven't seen much of it compared to the south Korean series I've seen. The few I've seen turns out to be really good ones, I guess I get reluctant to see so I don't end up wasting my time like I felt I did in seeing "Splash Splash Love", I'm not saying it wasn't cool in it's own storyline but of course, there are way better historical dramas than it.
So I came up with this list of dramas I've seen and hopefully you've not seen but you should, you can let me know in the comment section if you have let's have fun talking about them okay?
In the order that I saw them, that is how I decided to share them as I couldn't point to one to be my favourite, that would take a longer time to decide hehe.
Gu Family Book
Gu Family Book was released in the year 2013 having 24 episodes. I saw this series a long time but I could still the remember the storyline to be about a half human and a half Gumiho (what we call were-fox) it tells how he embarks on a long journey of search and love to becoming human. The end of this drama is breathtaking, I like how it ended and I'm hoping you'll like it too.
I don't know about others but the main character, Kang Chi played his role well on this and you'll definitely love him if you've not seen his drama before. Others he's starred on are "Korean Odyssey", "King 2 Hearts".
Faith
Faith is a comedy drama, released in the year 2012 with 24 episodes too. A Captain (Our popular Lee Min Ho) uses a wormhole to "heaven" which is actually 21st-century South Korea, to bring back the spoiled Dr. Yoo Eun-Soo and the scenes that entails were hilarious and secrets unfolding.
I love the doctor role of the female lead during a Josean era, the series took us to imagining how it must have been like to be treated or to treat without advanced equipments.
Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo
Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo was released in the year 2016 with 21 episodes. The storyline goes like A heart broken girl from the 21 first century travels back in time and is trapped in another's body. She is made to deal with the throne fight that was happening when she got there. Her role in bringing the brothers together and falling in love, it made up for a good watch.
The drama is also a hilarious one you'll enjoy like Faith, I guess the fact that present with past meets, comedy is unavoidable lol.
Mr Queen
Mr Queen could have been my most favourite from these five but I'm choosing not to say it, or did I just say it? Lol. It's a 20 episodes drama series released in the year 2020-2021. The storyline is A modern day Chef got trapped in the body of a queen in the past and he is made to live as a queen and also found himself falling in love with the King. Imagine a man trapped in a woman's body, yes, you're up for comedy!
I'll give big kudos to the female character who starred as the Queen, acting like a man at first and then changing to feel like a woman. You should expect comedy and unexpected turn outs, it's interesting.
Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth
The most recent I've seen but not a recent drama. Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth is a 20 episodes drama released in the year 2016-2017. It is about a group of guys who are trained to be warriors and guide the King. It got to a point where they had to choose one from them to be king but the turn out was shocking and refreshingly breathtaking.
This drama series is also hilarious and will keep you glued to your screen with different emotions from start to finish.
So there you have it, a 5 must-watch for you if you're into historical storyline especially from Korean hehe. So let me know which you've seen or planning to see and let's discuss.
I think I should watch Mr.Queen as you have already mentioned that it's your favorite among others so curiosity is scratching my head that I should watch it. Also it's with 20 episode(which are too much) but it's okay.
I just have watched one Korean season that was Hometown, Cha Cha which was good and smooth season, as there were no fights and war and stuff like that. Story revolves around a dentist.

Haha yeah, Mr Queen has a more interesting and funny storyline if I was rank it π
I've seen Hometown Cha Cha Cha too, a very good one. Thanks for stopping by π
4 and a half watched successfully
Haha you're almost there π
I think Faith and Mr. Queen sound interesting to me. They are series, however, so it's unlikely I consider them anytime soon. I am even struggling to finish Black Knight. But thanks for sharing anyway, Mer Mer.
Yeah, those two are unique with the storyline. I hope you get to see them. I haven't seen Black Knight, is it interesting?
Black Knight is a Korean film about, uhhh... I think it is about a world where oxygen is scarce, and people have to buy or subscribe to get oxyget. Deliverymen are the ones responsible for delivering them, but they aren't just ordinary men. They are trained to deal with bandits that may want to steal from them in their journeys.
Interesting! I'll have it downloaded soon, thanks
Please watch Mr. Queen oga. You won't regret it.π
Hmm...
I'll collect my data money from you people if I no like am oh
From the above list, I watched moon lovers. I know Hwarang and its ratings but I didn't watch it haha..
You should see Hwarang, it's a good recommendation hehe.
I'm so happy to read this because I've watched every single thing here. But Mr. Queen forever would be my best because I laughed so much, it had such beautiful story line and the lead characters interpreted their roles like stars. I love that Queen so much. She's beyond talented.π€π
Haha we are together on this one then π Mr Queen is also my favourite, I just feel some kind of injustice towards the others I mentioned lol.
That Queen is amazing in all her roles, have you seen "See You In My 19th Life"? She is the female lead in that one too.
Ouch! I'm hurt, how could you leave out "under the Queen's umbrella" and "kingdom". You'd have completed the list with those two! But your list choke oo π. One of my favourites here is the "moon lover". This particular one increased my love for historical-fantasy.
How are you ma'am? Hope you're well, been a while on your blog. This particular one is beautifully written, I'll join you here soon! βΊ
Haha I haven't seen them o
They are interesting too? I'll have to go check them out, seems they are old series too.
I'm good and I hope you are as well. Looking forward to that π
Yeah, really old!
Alright, good to know.
With your reviews, I think I have to explore more of Korean.
I feel I have been missing a lotπ
You're missing a lot o π
I haven't really gotten into Korean series, I've been told that they are excellent and I have no doubt about them, starting with this top that you recommend would be a good start, it's possible that I'll be enchanted and I won't want to stop.
Yeah, you wouldn't
I hope you do check them out, thanks π
