Love fights and wins. Sometimes it loses, but it always comes back. Love is a feeling that inspires many stories throughout time, and more when they are brought to the screen.
Can the feeling travel through time, crossing barriers and overcoming obstacles? Is it possible to love the same person in different lives? Such are the great loves, those that are idealized and represented through the screen so that we can move to those situations and live them together with those who star in them.
I love this theme in films and series and even more, in my favorite genre (K-dramas), especially those that are of historical cut and representation, for the knowledge they give me of that culture (Korean), in those past times. Historical dramas are my preference, but if they come combined with the present time and in funny situations, they completely catch my attention and I watch them flying.
El amor lucha y vence. A veces, pierde, pero siempre regresa. El amor es un sentimiento que inspira muchas historias a lo largo del tiempo, y más, cuando son llevadas a la pantalla.
¿Puede el sentimiento viajar en el tiempo traspasando barreras y superando obstáculos? ¿Se puede amar en diferentes vidas a la misma persona? Así son los grandes amores, los que son idealizados y representados a través de la pantalla, para que podamos trasladarnos a esas situaciones y vivirlas junto a los que las protagonizan.
Este tema me encanta en los filmes y series y más aún, en mi género favorito (los K-dramas), en especial aquellos que son de corte y representación histórica, por el conocimiento que me dan de esa cultura (la coreana), en aquellos tiempos pasados. Los dramas históricos son de mi preferencia, pero si vienen combinados con la época actual y en situaciones divertidas, atrapan por completo mi atención y literalmente los veo volando.
While I was avoiding that very long list of K-dramas to watch and browsing through my favorite series platform (Netflix), I came across a suggestion that I started to watch because of the historical drama it presented to me. However, it turned out to be combined with the current and funny, as well as interesting and thoughtful, and of course, I was immediately hooked.
This time, the suggestion came with the title of The Prince of the Rooftop, a rather peculiar name, which was historical, as it was shown at the beginning, but it promised to be fresh and fun. That's how I decided to start watching it. A series of 20 chapters, from 2012, broadcast by the Korean television network SBS and taken out of that country by the Netflix platform.
A series that is a mix of romance, laughter, time travel, reincarnation, past lives, and meetings in the present time to settle debts and karmas, in short, a whole series of events that, in the end, I loved the series. It is not, perhaps for some, the best series, but for me, one of the most refreshing and funniest in this genre that I have seen lately.
Obviando esa lista larguísima de K-dramas por ver y navegando por mi plataforma favorita de series (Netflix), llegó a mí una sugerencia que comencé a ver por el corte de drama histórico que me presentaba. Sin embargo, resultó estar combinada con lo actual y ser divertida, además de interesante y reflexiva, y por supuesto, me enganché de inmediato.
En esta oportunidad, la sugerencia venía con el título de El Príncipe de la azotea, un nombre bastante peculiar, que era de corte histórico, por lo que se mostraba en inicio, pero prometía ser fresca y además, divertida. Así fue como me decidí a empezar a verla. Una serie de 20 capítulos, del año 2012, transmitida por la cadena televisiva coreana SBS, y llevada fuera de ese país por la plataforma Netflix.
Una serie que es una mezcla entre romance, risa, viaje en el tiempo, reencarnación, vidas pasadas, encuentros en la época actual para saldar deudas y karmas, en fin, toda una serie de acontecimientos que, al final, me encantaron de la serie. No es, quizás para algunos, la mejor serie, pero sí para mí, una de las más refrescantes y divertidas en este género que he visto últimamente.
It is the story of Crown Prince Lee Gak of ancient Korea (Joseon) who, in an attempt to find out about the murder of his princess, travels 300 years into the future with a group of collaborating subjects to find out about it. There he gets a different panorama, and a series of situations that change his life, the way he thinks and loves, a whole shake-up of emotions that change the context and course when he returns to his original life.
Among the group of secondary characters, there is a trio that stole my heart and I qualify them as the best of the series, yes, because they made me smile and have a lot of fun, as well as touching me, for their deep sense of loyalty and true friendship. It is the three traveling companions, subjects of the prince, who land with him on the rooftop, and give us funny and enjoyable moments throughout the series.
The lead pair consisted of actors Park Yoo-chun as Prince Lee Gak and Yong Tae-yong; and Han Ji-min as Bu-yong and Park Ha. They both play two characters, their counterparts in ancient times and the current era as if symbolizing their past lives and the current one.
Es la historia del Príncipe Heredero Lee Gak, de la antigua Corea (Joseon) quien en un intento de averiguar sobre el asesinato de su princesa, viaja al futuro 300 años, con un grupo de súbditos colaboradores, para averiguar sobre este hecho. Allí se consigue con un panorama distinto, y una serie de situaciones que le cambian la vida, la forma de pensar y de amar, todo un sacudón de emociones que, definitivamente, le cambian el contexto y curso cuando regresa a su vida original.
Entre el grupo de personajes secundarios, hay un trío que robó mi corazón y los califico como lo mejor de la serie, sí, pues me hicieron sonreír y divertirme demasiado, además de enternecerme, por su profundo sentido hacia la lealtad y la amistad verdadera. Son los tres compañeros de viaje, súbditos del príncipe, quienes aterrizan con él en la azotea, y nos brindan momentos demasiado divertidos y agradables en toda la serie.
La pareja protagonista, conformada por los actores Park Yoo-chun como el príncipe Lee Gak y Yong Tae-yong; y Han Ji-min como Bu-yong y Park Ha. Ambos hacen dos personajes, sus contrapartes en el tiempo antiguo y en la era actual, como simbolizando sus vidas pasadas y la actual.
The environment as typical of Korean productions of this kind, is very beautiful and real. I like it very much whenever they make a historical drama, they show the details of that time in this culture in an accurate way. The OST of the movie, is very nice, especially in the romantic part, they have a beautiful song, suitable for the scenes.
Not everything is always as we expect it to be. Many times, when facing a situation that we expected to be one way, it turns out that in the end it was different and for the better. I liked that as a message of this series.
As I always say, it is not one of the most popular or perhaps well-known series, but I had a lot of fun (especially with the trio of the prince's subjects) and I was hooked, liking it until the end. Los ambientes como algo típico de las producciones coreanas de este tipo, muy bonitos y reales. Me gusta mucho siempre que hacen un drama histórico, muestran de acertada forma, los detalles de aquel tiempo en esta cultura. El OST de la película, muy lindo, sobre todo en la parte romántica, que cuentan con una canción hermosa, adecuada para las escenas.
No todo es siempre como esperamos que sea. Muchas veces, al enfrentar una situación que esperábamos fuese de una manera, resulta que al final era diferente y para mucho mejor. Eso me gustó como mensaje de esta serie.
Cómo siempre digo, no es una de las series más populares o quizás conocidas, pero me divertí demasiado (sobre todo con el trío de súbditos del príncipe) y me enganché, gustándome hasta el final. Hola amiga, estos K-dramas están tomando mucha fuerza y muchos comentan y hablan de ellos, por la manera como se desarrolla la historia y cada una cuenta con un gran mensaje, elementos y muchas cosas increíbles. Me han recomendado y no me animo, solo leo las reseño, así que tocara revisar esa gran plataforma y sentarme a ver una. Esta que nos compartes suena divertida, donde el amor es algo maravilloso y llegara el momento adecuado, pro esos tiene que disfrutar de la vida. Un gusto leerte.
