But now, I will be publishing a series of biographies of actors and actresses, and recommendations of films from the Golden Age of Mexican Cinema. This time I will talk about the actress Irasema Dilián, born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on May 27, 1924. Her parents were of Polish origin and due to the diplomatic exercise of her father, her childhood was spent in several countries. But it was in Italy where he began his film career, trained and graduated from the experimental center of cinematography in Rome. He made a participation in the French-Italian production La comedia de la felicidad; but his film debut was in the movie Magdalena, cero en conducta by Vittorio de Sica's, released in December 1940; he also worked in sacrificio por amistad (1942) directed by Carlo Ludovico Bragaglia, Cero en conducta (1945) a Spanish-Portuguese production with Virgilio Teixeira, Óscar de Lemos and María Brú; 39 cartas de amor under the direction of Francisco Rovira. During the following years he worked with directors such as de Sica, Riccardo Freda and Mario Soldati, along with actors such as Alida Valli and Rossano Brazzi, Juan de Orduña, filming around 19 movies between Italy and Spain.

In 1950, she married Italian film producer and writer Arduino "Dino" Maiuri, with whom she had two children, actress Coralla Maiuri and Antonio Maiuri, and together they traveled to Mexico. And in 1951, she achieved her consecration as an actress in the golden age of Mexican cinema.

Her official debut in Mexican cinema was with the film Muchachas de uniforme (1951) by Alfredo B. Crevenna, in which she shares a scene in the film. In her book "Yo MARGA", Marga Lopez describes Irasema Dilian: "as a very pretty and cheerful young woman, and they became friends. As soon as she arrived in Mexico she went to visit her at the forum where she was working on another film to introduce herself and where she also met her children".

Then she made Paraíso Robado (1951) by Julio Bracho, with Arturo de Córdova and María Douglas, where her husband Dino" Maiuri was the scriptwriter along with Julio Bracho and Mauricio de la Serna, for her performance in this film she was nominated for the Ariel award as best actress, which meant for her a real satisfaction and pride, the winner in that edition was Dolores del Río, for her characterization in the film Doña Perfecta.

Shortly after she traveled to Spain where she filmed her last two movies, in 1957 "La estrella del Rey" under the direction of her husband and Luis Maria Delgado with Virgilio Teixeira, Miguel Angel Ferriz and Ana Maria Custodio and in 1958 La Muralla under the direction of Luis Garcia sharing credits with the actor Armando Calvo.

In the 60's she decided to retire from acting and lived her last years in Italy away from the spotlight and surrounded by her family. She died in the city of Ceprano, victim of a heart attack on April 16, 1996.
