Cine TV Contest: El Guasón / Joker [ESP-ENG]
¡Saludos! Por acá he vuelto con otra publicación para este interesante reto para los amantes del cine. Esta vez las controversias fueron el centro, así que elegí una película que salió en un momento en que los EEUU estuvieron bastante ajetreados y esta película estuvo rodeada de cierto revuelo extra por ello. Además por supuesto, de que su trama tiene cierta crítica social marcada.
Greetings! Here I am back with another post for this interesting challenge for movie lovers. This time controversies were the focus, so I chose a movie that came out at a time when the US was quite busy and this movie was surrounded by some extra hype because of it. Plus of course, its plot has some marked social criticism.

El Guasón, una película protagonizada magistralmente por Joaquín Phoenix en 2019, le valió un óscar por tan excelente actuación. Personificando a un hombre solitario e introvertido por causa de su enfermedad, trabajando como payaso para ganarse la vida, vive con su mamá enferma cuidándola con cariño mientras lidiaba con sus problemas mentales, como Arthur luchando con un síndrome causado por un problema neurológico llamado Seudobulbar que causa risas incontrolables, lo cual le impide socializar y es objeto de innumerables abusos, golpes, maltratos y rechazo.
Esta obra denuncia la incapacidad de un sistema de gobierno para dar repuestas a situaciones que dan señales de convertirse en un grave problema social, la discriminación a aquellos que menos tienen , la limitación de la atención médica por recortes de presupuesto y la falta de acceso al tratamiento adecuado para los problemas de este tipo.
Esta serie da paso a la aparición de Batman para próximas escenas, uno de los momentos más emotivos fue cuando Arthur se acercó a su supuesto padre Tomas, según su madre; buscando respuesta cuando este le dice que él es adoptado. Se va a una clínica siquiátrica donde estuvo internada su mamá y allí encuentra su terrible realidad.
Una vez descubierto su origen, que es adoptado y fue abusado ante los ojos de su madre sin que ella hiciera nada para protegerlo, hubo un desdoblamiento de su personalidad, convirtiéndolo en el monstruo asesino que convulsiono a una ciudad que ya estaba en caos.
Luego el baile en la escalera que lo lleva a la entrevista donde Arthur desaparece y ahora predomina su nueva identidad: La del Guasón.
Todo el rechazo social, su patología lo llevan a convertirse en un criminal sin que nadie diga nada en favor de él o alguien se preocupe por saber que lo llevo a ese punto. Toda esta tragedia nos lleva a reflexionar que tan responsable es el estado en relación con la atención adecuada para estas personas, que por sus experiencias traumáticas terminan convirtiéndose en potenciales criminales, es un mensaje profundo y más común de lo que pensamos, la orquesta con su música de fondo le da el toque de suspenso, misterio y depresión que nos sumerge en este impresionante film hasta hacernos sentir empatía por el personaje.

The Joker, a film masterfully starring Joaquin Phoenix in 2019, earned him an Oscar for such an excellent performance. Personifying a lonely and introverted man because of his illness, working as a clown to make a living, he lives with his sick mom caring for her with affection while dealing with his mental problems, as Arthur struggling with a syndrome caused by a neurological problem called Pseudobulbar that causes uncontrollable laughter, which prevents him from socializing and is subject to countless abuses, beatings, mistreatment and rejection.
This work denounces the inability of a government system to respond to situations that show signs of becoming a serious social problem, the discrimination against those who have less, the limitation of medical care due to budget cuts and the lack of access to adequate treatment for problems of this type.
This series gives way to the appearance of Batman for upcoming scenes, one of the most emotional moments was when Arthur approached his supposed father Tomas, according to his mother; looking for an answer when he tells him that he is adopted. He goes to a psychiatric clinic where his mother was hospitalized and there he finds his terrible reality.
Once his origin was discovered, that he is adopted and was abused before his mother's eyes without her doing anything to protect him, there was a splitting of his personality, turning him into the murderous monster that convulsed a city that was already in chaos.
Then the dance on the stairs that leads to the interview where Arthur disappears and now his new identity prevails: The Joker.
All the social rejection, his pathology lead him to become a criminal without anyone saying anything in favor of him or anyone cares to know what led him to that point. All this tragedy leads us to reflect on how responsible is the state in relation to the proper care for these people, who by their traumatic experiences end up becoming potential criminals, is a deep message and more common than we think, the orchestra with its background music gives the touch of suspense, mystery and depression that immerses us in this impressive film to make us feel empathy for the character.
