“Young Sheldon” TV Series Review | How it feels to be a genius
Hello readers,
Movies and TV series are some of the most shouted forms of art that people enjoy in today’s world and just like many of you, I also watch a lot of them in my free time. There are a lot of different genres from Romance to comedy, Horror to Action and Sci-Fi, no matter what type of content you love to watch, there is always a ton of content waiting for anyone. Some even say sarcastically that no one can finish watching the total amount of content that is currently available online in his entire life. However, talking about me, I am a fan of Sci-Fi and Action movies but I also do watch comedy films and TV series sometimes just for a change in taste. In today’s post, I will be talking about a recent comedy TV show that I have started watching recently and the show is named Young Sheldon. So without wasting any more time, let us jump right in.
The Plot
The story starts in a small East Texas town where a smart and socially awkward boy named Sheldon Lee Cooper takes center stage in the famous TV show "Young Sheldon." This TV show is actually a prequel where the makers showed us Sheldon's life before he became the famous character in the world-famous TC series "The Big Bang Theory." The story of Young Sheldon takes place in the late 80's or early 90’s era as per my guess watching their dressings sense or events happening in the show. It is a family-friendly show that you can enjoy with your family together while having a great time and lots of laughter.
Though Sheldon is a genius since birth, he is different from other kids in his high school or locality. He is really smart in science and math and can solve problems that are generally impossible for anyone else of that age, but he often says or does things without hesitation that get him into funny situations or sometimes in trouble too. For example, when he just started taking classes in a high school only at the age of 9, he told his librarian “I’m having a hard time adjusting to Earth” or in another scene where he talked loudly about his puberty during a church service without even thinking twice and even used to wore a bow tie and carried a briefcase to school when everyone else was in casual clothes.
Makers
"Young Sheldon" was made by Chuck Lorre and Steven Molaro, who is also the creator of "The Big Bang Theory", a masterpiece in the world of TV series and enjoyed by millions worldwide. I haven't seen it yet but heard that is a great show, Young Sheldon is like a prequel and you can start enjoying this show right away without watching The Big Bang Theory. Currently, You can watch the first six seasons of this great Comedy show on streaming platforms like Netflix.
The Characters of "Young Sheldon"
The main actors in the show are Iain Armitage who plays the role of Sheldon and Jim Parsons who is the background voice of adult Sheldon and narrates the story. There is also Zoe Perry as marry who is Sheldon’s mother and Lance Barber as George who is Sheldon’s father. There are also other characters like Montana Jordan as Georgie his elder brother, Raegan Revord as Missy, his twin sister, and Annie Potts as Connie aka Meemaw his grandmother.
Sheldon's Adventures
"Young Sheldon" starts with Sheldon joining high school at a really young age of just 9, all thanks to his Einstein-level IQ. As the show goes on, we can see him growing up while facing and dealing with all sorts of life challenges, like dealing with his family or making friends at school. It becomes really interesting to see how he becomes the person we know from "The Big Bang Theory" and those who already have watched the TV series will surely enjoy watching this one even more.
Special Guests
Sometimes, famous people also can be seen making appearances on the "Young Sheldon" TV show and the one entry that particularly blew my mind was Elon Musk which I didn't even expect in my wildest dreams, lol! There are also some other famous personalities that can be seen in this TV show including Penn and Teller, Reba McEntire and Mayim Bialik and they play different characters and add even more fun or suspense to the story which you will definitely enjoy.
Story Timeline
As I mentioned above, the show takes place in an imaginary town called Medford in East Texas during the late 1980s and early 1990s era. As we are living in 2024 now, The time becomes even more interesting because it gives us an idea or rather a glimpse into what life was like back then. I am not from the US so it gets even more interesting to me to see how life was back then in America and that’s another element that attracted me to the show.
Why You Should Watch "Young Sheldon"?
No matter if you are a fan of "The Big Bang Theory" and want to watch the prequel to get nostalgic or you are just looking for a funny, family-friendly comedy show, I guarantee you that "Young Sheldon" will be a great choice for you. While watching the TV series, you will surely remember your good old Days and school life and the priceless memories you spent with your siblings or friends in your childhood. It is a show that takes you on a time machine and makes you call up your past like magic. So if you are getting interested, I would suggest you watch the first season of this TV show and I am pretty sure that you will fall in love with this show in no time.
I hope you liked reading my post and it is actually my first ever blog on the Movie / TV series genre so hope it was worth a read. If you have watched this series already, then let me know your thoughts in the comment section below and I will be seeing you all in my next post.

Very good review, I loved The Big Bang Theory, Sheldon was one of my favorite characters even with all the annoyances he caused...I started watching Young Sheldon a while ago, I think I only watched two seasons, I think I'll pick it up again if I have time...
For me the original The Big Bang Theory series was much better although this one doesn't lose any merit.
