Este es mi primer post en esta comunidad, y como para darle la bienvenida a octubre quería hablar de una película que quizás no muchos conozcan pero muy probablemente sí han visto algo de su protagonista. Pues sí, el payaso del meme es de una película de terror y gore bastante sangrienta de la cual quiero darles mi opinión.
This is my first post in this community, and to welcome October I wanted to talk about a movie that maybe not many people know about, but most likely they have seen something of its protagonist. Well, yes, the clown in the meme is from a pretty bloody horror and gore movie, which I want to give you my opinion about.

Nos encontramos viendo un programa de entrevistas, al parecer bastante exitoso por los llamativos invitados que traen. La presentadora en esta ocasión entrevista a una mujer terriblemente desfigurada que cuenta la historia de cómo le ocurrió esto hace un año en Halloween. Ella fue la única sobreviviente de una terrible matanza ocasionada por un tipo de lo más raro, alguien disfrazado de payaso. Pero lo raro no sólo era la actitud de aquel payaso ni sus nefastos actos, sino que su cadáver había desaparecido de repente.
La víctima sabe que él murió, ella lo vió, ¿pero entonces dónde está?...
We find ourselves watching a talk show, apparently quite successful due to the striking guests they bring. The presenter on this occasion interviews a woman terribly disfigured who tells the story of how this happened to her a year ago on Halloween. She was the only survivor of a terrible massacre caused by a very strange guy, someone dressed as a clown. But the strange thing was not only the attitude of that clown or his nefarious acts, but that his corpse had suddenly disappeared.
The victim knows that he died, she saw him, but then where is he?...
El género es slasher y gore bastante bien logrados. Las escenas son viserales, con mucha sangre y mutilaciones grotescas que llegan incluso a causar cierto asco. El personaje principal, Art El Payaso es bizarro. Tiene misterio porque realmente no sabes con exactitud de dónde viene ni por qué está allí, mucho menos sabes su motivación verdadera, aunque supongo que puede ser el simple hecho de disfrutar de la matanza. Tiene una actitud extraña, sabes realmente qué está sintiendo porque es muy expresivo; sabes cuando llega el éxtasis de los asesinatos, la rabia hacia las víctimas o la burla. Es lo único que queda claro de él, que le gusta matar.
Por supuesto, visualmente también es perturbador. Se ve desagradable y da esa sensasión de que algo no está bien desde el inicio. En general, es el protagonista perfecto para este tipo de películas.
The genre is a very well-made slasher and gore. The scenes are visceral, with a lot of blood and grotesque mutilations that even cause a certain disgust. The main character, Art the Clown is bizarre. He is mysterious because you really don't know exactly where he comes from or why he is there, much less do you know his true motivation, although I suppose it could be the simple fact of enjoying the killing. He has a strange attitude, you really know what he is feeling because he is very expressive; you know when the ecstasy of the killings comes, the rage towards the victims or the mockery. It is the only thing that is clear about him, that he likes to kill.
Of course, visually he is also disturbing. He looks uncanny and gives that feeling that something is not right from the beginning. In general, he is the perfect protagonist for this type of film.
Pero por mucho que me encante el personaje principal, realmente es lo único bueno que tiene esta película (y las secuelas). La trama realmente es vacía, si el personaje no tuviera su carisma particular, la película no sería para nada entretenida. Todos los demás personajes están allí por estar, son planos, sin ninguna profundidad ni carisma y verdaderamente las actuaciones también son de lo más insulsas. Además todo lo que es el origen de Art, la manera en que se manifiesta, etc, parece muy rebuscado e incluso sin sentido.
Por un momento pensé que era una parodia a al género, pero según lo que leí después no parece serlo. En ese caso sé que lo central viene a ser la sangre, muerte tras muerte violenta, pero considero que al menos deberías saber por qué ocurren, también deberías poder tener un mínimo de simpatía por las víctimas. En este caso jamás sabes por qué pasan las cosas y sinceramente, los peronajes son tan tontos que terminas queriendo que los maten.
But as much as I love the main character, he's really the only good thing about this movie (and the sequels). The plot is really empty, if the character didn't have his particular charisma, the movie wouldn't be entertaining at all. All the other characters are just there for the sake of it, they're flat, without any depth or charisma and the acting is really bland too. Also, everything about Art's origin, the way he manifests himself, etc., seems very far-fetched and even pointless.
For a moment I thought it was a parody of the genre, but from what I read later it doesn't seem to be. In this case I know that the main thing is the blood, death after violent death, but I think that at least you should know why they happen, you should also be able to have a minimum of sympathy for the victims. In this case you never know why things happen and honestly, the characters are so stupid that you end up wanting them to be killed.
Quizá la esté juzgando muy duramente, pero es que todo me pareció un sinsentido. Aunque la intención sea hacer algo bizarro hay límites, puesto que sí haces que absolutamente todo parezca así no logras conectar con todo el público. En mi caso, cuando terminé la película lo único que pensé fue «¿Qué fue lo que vi?», riéndome por lo ridículo que había sido todo. En vez de asustarme me dió risa.
Luego busqué resumen de las otras películas y cada una era peor que la anterior. Así que mi conclusión es que puede ser entretenida por el protagonista y porque definitivamente te vas a reír de sus excentricidades, pero no es una buena obra si lo vemos de manera objetiva. Es absurda, pero puede que la llegues a ver una vez. No más de allí.
En general, fue una buena idea que falló en la ejecución.
Maybe I'm judging it too harshly, but it all seemed like nonsense to me. Even if the intention is to make something bizarre, there are limits, because if you make absolutely everything seem that way, you won't connect with the entire audience. In my case, when I finished the movie, all I thought was "What did I wachted?", laughing at how ridiculous everything was. Instead of being scared, I laughed.
Then I looked for summaries of the other movies and each one was worse than the last. So my conclusion is that it can be entertaining because of the protagonist and because you will definitely laugh at his eccentricities, but it is not a good work if we look at it objectively. It is absurd, but you might wanna watch it once. Not more than that.
Overall, it was a good idea that failed in the execution.

Jaja, pienso verla, pero solo porque me llama la atención el payaso que tanto sale en los memes, y seguramente me parezca más una película de comedia que de terror 😂. Películas de terror últimamente ya no se hacen bien.
Fue la razón por la que la vi y definitivamente todo lo que hice fue reírme 🤣. Es demasiado absurda, aunque sí logra entretener.

Este es el mes de halloween y comienzan un desfile de películas de terror. La reseña que cuentas me resulta interesante, capta la atención del espectador. Saludos.
Es el mes perfecto para la temática de terror. Aunque esta película no me gustó demasiado, si la ves me comentas que te pareció.

Conozco esta película por los mismos memes de internet, pero poco más, nunca la he visto, aunque dicen que las secuelas son mejores que esta primera entrega. Si bien he visto mucha películas sangrientas no soy muy fan del gore.

El meme fue realmente lo que atrajo la atención a estas películas, aunque sinceramente no me gustaron mucho. Me parecen más una parodia, aunque pueden ser entretenidas.
