Princess Mononoke (Movie Review) ESP/ENG

Wow! I recently saw this movie and I have to say that this is the first time that I don't love a Ghibli Studios movie, I'm not saying that I didn't like it or that it had a bad plot, on the contrary, I think it was made with great professionalism, as always, it's just that I didn't connect with it completely for the simple reason that I perceived it very, very slow, anyway, I still saw it complete and for that reason today I will offer you my honest opinion.
Wow! Recientemente vi esta película y tengo que decir que es la primera vez que una película de los estudios Ghibli no me encanta, no estoy diciendo que no me gustó o que tuvo una mala trama, al contrario, creo que fue hecha con mucho profesionalismo, como siempre, es solo que no logré conectar con ella por completo por la sencilla razón de que la percibí muy pero muy lenta, de todos modos, de igual forma la vi completa y por esa razón hoy les ofreceré mi opinión sincera
Overview/Resumen
Ashitaka, a young prince of a village is confronted by a Shinigami, that is, a kind of God who is furious for all the mischief that man has done in nature, someone warns the young man that he must not hurt the Shinigami or else it will pass its curse, however the young man has no choice but to do so, to save his sisters, because the monster was heading directly towards them, in this way, effectively the young man ends up receiving the curse that gradually spreads throughout his body. In search of his salvation he must undertake a journey and it is here where he meets San, better known as Mononoke, a girl who seems to be the leader of a pack of wolves, which, although they are fierce, aim to protect nature, especially from the excesses of the lady Eboshi, a woman who uses indiscriminately the resources of the forest, and who is helping Ashitaka, for this reason Mononoke feels the imperious need to confront him, because she, despite being human, hates all of this species.
Ashitaka, un joven príncipe de una aldea se enfrenta a un Tatarigami, es decir, una especie de Dios que está furioso por todos los desmanes que el hombre ha hecho en la naturaleza, alguien le advierte al joven que no debe lastimar al o Tatarigami de lo contrario este le traspasará su maldición, sin embargo el joven no tiene más remedio que hacerlo, para salvar a sus hermanas, pues el monstruo se dirigía directamente hacia ellas, de esta forma, efectivamente el joven termina recibiendo la maldición que poco a poco se extiende por todo su cuerpo. En busca de su salvación él debe emprender un viaje y es aquí donde conoce a San, mejor conocida como Mononoke, una chica que parece ser la líder de una manada de lobos, los cuales, aunque son feroces, tienen como objetivo proteger a la naturaleza, sobre todo de los desmanes que hace la dama Eboshi, una mujer que usa indiscriminadamente los recursos del bosque, y es quien está ayudando a Ashitaka, por esta razón Mononoke siente la imperiosa necesidad de enfrentarse a él, porque ella, a pesar de ser humana, odia a todos los de esta especie.

My Opinion/Mi Opinión
As I said, I feel that the film was too slow for my taste, there were too many unnecessary dialogues and scenes that in my opinion extended the film too much, however, obviously I have to recognize several positive points, for example the animation, as always was at the height of what the audience always expects from Ghibli, there is fluidity in the movements of the characters and facial expressions, there is much prominence of nature, so you can perceive in detail the movement of branches and leaves with total spontaneity, so much that it seems real, the photography is also very good and of course the main message that the film wants to convey, once again as in almost all the films of the studio, focuses on the care of nature, it shows us the consequences of using resources irresponsibly,
Como les dije, siento que la película fue demasiado lenta para mi gusto, hubo demasiados diálogos y escenas innecesarias que en mi opinión extendieron demasiado la película, no obstante, obviamente tengo que reconocer varios puntos positivos, por ejemplo la animación, como siempre estuvo a la altura de lo que la audiencia siempre espera de Ghibli, hay fluidez en los movimientos de los personajes y en las expresiones fasciales, hay mucho protagonismo de la naturaleza, así que puedes percibir a detalle el movimiento de las ramas y hojas con total espontaneidad, tanta que parece real, la fotografía también está muy buena y desde luego el mensaje principal que quiere transmitir el film, una vez más como en casi todos los films del estudio, se enfoca en el cuidado de la naturaleza, nos muestra las consecuencias de usar los recursos de forma irresponsable.
On the other hand, I really liked that as always, this time they did not miss the opportunity to insert elements that are very typical of Japanese folklore, such as the Tatarigamis or the Kodamas, the latter seemed enigmatic to me, I don't know what to think about it, because, although they are spirits that take care of the forests, their appearance and movements are strange, they act erratically, and this, I guess that's what it's all about, all the creatures of the folklore of each country, even when they have intentions to take care of nature, they don't have a very reassuring appearance or behavior, there we have for example the Hachador in Venezuela, or the Brazilian Caiporas, which are more similar to the Japanese Kodamas.
Por otra parte me gustó mucho que al igual que siempre, en esta ocasión no desaprovecharon la oportunidad de insertar elementos que son muy propios del folcklore japonés, como los Tatarigamis o los Kodamas, estos últimos me parecieron enigmáticos, no sé que pensar al respecto, ya que, si bien son espíritus que cuidan los bosques, su aspecto y movimientos son extraños, actúan de forma errática, y esto, aunado a los comentarios de uno de los personajes acerca de que no se debía confiar en estas criaturas me generaba aún más desconfianza, pero supongo que de eso se trata precisamente, todas las criaturas del folckore de cada país, aún y cuando tiene intenciones de cuidar a la naturaleza no tiene precisamente una apariencia o un comportamiento muy tranquilizador, allí tenemos por ejemplo al Hachador en Venezuela, o a los Caiporas brasileños, los cuales son más parecidos a lo Kodamas japoneses.
The music of the soundtrack is a great success, as always it is not disappointing at all and perfectly accompanies each scene.

And well that's all I have to say about it, I repeat, it's not that I consider it a bad movie, I just didn't feel as connected with this one as I did with other movies, but as I said, I appreciated the main message, leaving me as a final conclusion, that if the human being is not willing to respect nature and live in a perfect symbiosis that benefits them both, he is destined to self-destruction eventually.
Y bien eso es todo lo que tengo que decir al respecto, repito, no es que considere que es una mala película, solo que no me sentí tan conectada con esta como somo sí me sentí con otras películas, pero tal como les dije, aprecie mucho el mensaje principal, dejándome como conclusión final, que si el ser humano no está dispuesto a respetar la naturaleza y vivir en una simbiosis perfecta que los beneficie a ambos, está destinado a la autodestrucción eventualmente.

Es una película de otra época, por eso su ritmo es más lento para contar la historia. Aunque tampoco esta entre mis favoritas del Studio Ghibli, me gusta su bonito mensaje ecológico. ¡Saludos cordiales!
Tienes razón jeje aunque creo que en mi caso fue más el estilo el que no me gustó, porque me encantaba Heidi y Candy que son viejísimas, de los 70 creo. Pero sí, el mensaje principal es hermoso.
Yo recuerdo a Candy como una especie de telenovela muy melodramática y a Heidi como algo más alegre, sea como sea son clásicos.
Pues, yo amo esta película 😅. Aunque tengo que admitir que tienes razón en que el ritmo es bastante lento, pero creo que se debe más al estilo de la época y al mensaje que intenta dejar.
Sin embargo tienes puntos muy válidos y en gustos creo que todos siempre diferimos.

Como se puede esperar del estudio Ghibli su animación y soundtrack son increíbles sin importar la época, siempre he querido ver esta película y de hecho este año tengo de meta ver varias películas de Ghibli, no sabia que en esta película la princesa como tal aparece después de otro protagonista jajaja.
sin dudas esos pequeños espíritus pueden dar algo de miedo y ser intimidantes pero luego de tantos animes con espíritus típicos de la cultura ves que casi todos tienen aspectos algo perturbadores pero que son pacíficos jaja
As you can expect from studio Ghibli their animation and soundtrack are amazing no matter the era, I have always wanted to see this movie and in fact this year I have a goal to see several Ghibli movies, I didn't know that in this movie the princess as such appears after another protagonist hahaha.
no doubt those little spirits can be a bit scary and intimidating but after so many anime with typical spirits of the culture you see that almost all of them have somewhat disturbing aspects but they are peaceful haha.
