Greetings dear cinephiles, I hope you are well and have had an excellent weekend, in my case I preferred to spend it at home getting everything in order and enjoying some movies, I tell you I have a varied taste for movies, as well as I enjoy a romantic movie, I can also see an action or horror, mostly I am guided by the mood I have at that time to select the genre I want to see; my favorite these days are comedies, to cheer me up a little bit, since these days have not been easy in the country, so yesterday I started to see the options I had, and I found a movie starring Brooke Shields called "The Mother of the Bride", which was released this year being a romantic comedy directed by Mark Water, which I found very funny for its plot and scenes that are worth watching.
Saludos queridos cinéfilos, espero estén bien y hayan pasado un excelente fin de semana, en mi caso preferí pasarla en casa poniendo todo en orden y disfrutando de unas películas, les cuento tengo un gusto variado por las películas, así como disfruto de una película romántica, también puedo ver una acción o de terror, más que todo me guio por el ánimo que tengo en ese momento para seleccionar el género que quiero ver, siendo mis favoritas estos días comedias, para subir un poco el ánimo, ya que estos días no han sido fáciles en el país; en fin ayer me puse a ver las opciones que tenía y me encontré con una película protagonizada por Brooke Shields llamada “La madre de la novia”, la cual fue estrenada este mismo año siendo una comedia romántica dirigida por Mark Water, que me pareció muy divertida por su trama y escenas que vale la pena ver.
This story begins with a marriage request from a young man named Rj (Sean Teale) to his girlfriend Emma (Miranda Cosgrove), who happily accepts, but then this girl, who is the daughter of Brooke Shields does not know how to tell her mother who is a famous doctor and a very controlling mother; at the end she accepts that her daughter gets married, but when she meets the family of her daughter's boyfriend she gets a big surprise. I remember, while watching this movie, I was expecting a plot similar to another movie I saw with Julia Roberts and George Clooney who attended the wedding of her daughter in Bali, doing everything impossible to prevent the marriage, but in this case it is very different, since Lana the mother of the bride at no time refuses her daughter to marry, but rather collaborates in all the crazy itineraries that the wedding planner puts her to please her daughter, demonstrating that she is willing to sacrifice her opinions in order to see her daughter happy, even though she does not agree with many details of this event, since she thought that when the wedding of her only daughter arrived she would participate in the whole process helping her with all the details, which are now in charge of an organizer of the company of her work, ruining the illusions of her mother.
Esta historia inicia con una petición de matrimonio de un joven llamado Rj (Sean Teale) hacia su novia Emma (Miranda Cosgrover), quien acepta dichosa, pero luego esta chica, quien es la hija de Brooke Shields no sabe cómo decírselo a su madre quien es una doctora famosa y una madre un poco controladora; al final esta acepta que su hija se case, pero cuando se encuentra con la familia del novio de su hija se lleva una gran sorpresa. Recuerdo, que mientras veía esta película, me esperaba una trama parecida a otra película que vi con Julia Roberts y George Clooney quienes asistieron a la boda de su hija en Bali, haciendo todo lo imposible para impedir el matrimonio, pero en este caso es muy diferente, ya que Lana la madre de la novia en ningún momento se niega a que su hija se case, más bien colabora en todas los locos itinerarios que le pone la organizadora de la boda para complacer a su hija, demostrando que ella está dispuesta a sacrificar sus opiniones con tal de ver a su hija feliz, aunque no este de acuerdo con muchos detalles de este evento, ya que ella pensaba que cuando llegara la boda de su única hija iba a participar de todo el proceso ayudándola con todos los detalles, que ahora están a cargo de una organizadora de la compañia de su trabajo, arruinando la ilusiones de su madre.
So the story rather focuses in my opinion on the relationship of Lana (Brooke Shields) and Will (Benjamin Bratt) the father of the groom, who happens to be an ex-boyfriend of hers and her great love of the past, so this reunion while they are gathered in a large hotel to celebrate the wedding of their children, the memories between them are stoked and the flame of love is born again, In the midst of very funny scenes of jealousy, claims and exits that end up getting a little out of control, so this happy ending between them will not be so easy to achieve, and although their children have no problem seeing them together, they will be involved in these entanglements that definitely have to see them to enjoy them as much as I did.
Por lo que la historia más bien se centra en mi opinión en la relación de Lana (Brooke Shields) y Will (Benjamin Bratt) el padre del novio, quien resulta ser un exnovio de ella y su gran amor del pasado, por lo que este reencuentro mientras están reunidos en un gran hotel para celebrar la boda de sus hijos se avivan los recuerdos entre ellos naciendo la llama de amor nuevamente, en medio de escenas muy graciosas de celos, reclamos y salidas que terminan saliéndose un poco de control, por lo que este final feliz entre ellos no será tan fácil de lograr, y aunque sus hijos no tienen ningún problema en verlos juntos, se verán involucrados en estos enredos que definitivamente tienen que verlos para disfrutarlos al igual que yo.
One of the scenes that I liked the most was when Will asks Lana for forgiveness, and explains why he left her years ago, realizing that despite the years in the bottom of her heart she was waiting for the reason why he had left her; she had the opportunity to unburden herself at last, and they end up understanding that they still love each other, but Lana does not want to be involved again for fear of being hurt by Will again; and it is completely normal, all human beings tend to seek to protect themselves from painful situations, so we close ourselves to love for fear of suffering, but if I have learned anything in this life is that he who risks does not win, so Will will do everything possible to win Lana's love, resulting in the end a romantic story with funny situations between the characters, which leaves us an invaluable message about allowing ourselves to be happy regardless of age, and making us believe in second chances, so if you have not yet seen this movie I recommend it, I'm sure you will enjoy it as much as I did.
Una de las escenas que más me gusto fue cuando Will le pide perdón a Lana, y le explica por qué él se alejó de ella años atrás, dándose cuenta de que ella a pesar de los años en el fondo de su corazón esperaba el motivo por el cual él la había abandonado; ella tuvo la oportunidad de desahogarse al fin y acaban comprendiendo que aún se aman, pero Lana no quiere verse involucrada de nuevo por temor hacer herida por Will de nuevo; y es completamente normal todos los seres humanos tendemos a buscar protegernos de situaciones dolorosas, por lo que nos cerramos ante al amor por miedo a sufrir, pero si algo he aprendido en esta vida es que el que arriesga no gana, por lo que Will hará todo lo posible para ganarse el amor de lana, resultando al final una historia romántica con situaciones divertidas entre los personajes, que nos deja un mensaje invaluable en cuanto a permitirnos ser felices sin importar la edad, y haciéndonos creer en las segundas oportunidades, por lo que si aún no han visto esta película se la recomiendo, estoy segura de que la disfrutarán tanto como yo.
