Cook up a Storm (2017) || Review & Opinion [Eng /Esp]

Podemos disfrutar de hermosas locaciones y una puesta en escena increíble de todos los actores que participan aquí, la película es muy atractiva para la audiencia, nos presentan escenas con mucha calidad donde podemos ver la agilidad de ambos chef para cocinar y otras divertidas, una de las escenas que más me gusto fue su primer desafío cuando pican el pescado en la calle frente de sus restaurantes, midiéndose ambos en conocimientos, quedando cada uno de ellos muy bien parados; también disfrute mucho cuando preparan el filete en la cocina del restaurante donde trabaja Paul, ambos se dan cuenta de que son capaces de cocinar los mismos platillos con una calidad asombrosa aunque usen técnicas diferentes, reconociendo ambos su calidad en la cocina.

We can enjoy beautiful locations and an incredible staging of all the actors who participate here, the film is very attractive to the audience, we are presented with high quality scenes where we can see the agility of both chefs to cook and other fun, one of the scenes that I liked the most was their first challenge when they chop the fish in the street in front of their restaurants, measuring both in knowledge, leaving each of them very well standing; I also enjoyed a lot when they prepare the steak in the kitchen of the restaurant where Paul works, both realize that they are able to cook the same dishes with an amazing quality although they use different techniques, both recognizing their quality in the kitchen.

Pero este film va más allá, podemos ver la historia dramática detrás de la vida del joven chef sky, cuando al inicio de la historia su padre también de profesión chef lo está enseñando a cocinar fideos y este siendo niño se corta el dedo, su padre lo regaña, diciéndole que jamás servirá para la cocina y que él se avergonzaba que fuera su hijo; sin duda su niñez se vio marcada por este evento, esa noche su padre se marcha, dejándolo al cuidado de su tío dueño del restaurante, donde él se quedaría viviendo y trabajando los siguientes años como chef principal, se convierte en su discípulo y aprende de él, el arte de cocinar desde pequeño, esperando el momento oportuno para demostrarle a su padre algún día que lo viera de nuevo que podía sentirse orgulloso de él.

But this film goes beyond that, we can see the dramatic story behind the life of the young chef sky, when at the beginning of the story his father, also a chef, is teaching him to cook noodles and as a child he cuts his finger, his father scolds him, telling him that he will never be good for the kitchen and that he was ashamed that he was his son; No doubt his childhood was marked by this event, that night his father leaves, leaving him in the care of his uncle who owns the restaurant, where he would stay living and working the following years as head chef, he becomes his disciple and learns from him, the art of cooking since he was a child, waiting for the right time to show his father someday to see him again that he could be proud of him.

Por eso cuando le toca enfrentarse al Dios de la Cocina el plato que decide preparar son los mismos fideos que su padre le intentaba enseñar, y no tuvo la paciencia para hacerlo, al terminar el plato en vez de dárselo a los jueces se lo lleva a su oponente quien resultaba ser su propio padre, este con lágrimas en los ojos, lo comió y le dijo bien hecho estoy orgulloso de ti, él salió del set y se dio por satisfecho, ya que nunca se metió en el concurso para ser reconocido por los jueces y otras personas como un chef valioso, la única opinión que necesitaba oír era la de su padre, que él lo reconociera como un verdadero chef y que se sintiera orgulloso de él como hijo, ese era el título más valioso que podía tener en la cocina, esta última escena me conmovió mucho que se me arrugo el corazón por el sentimiento que me trasmitió, y eso nos lleva a reflexionar que como padres debemos tener cuidado en las cosas que le decimos a nuestros hijos, ya que los marcaran de por vida, si aún no han visto esta película los invito a que lo haga, estoy segura de que les gustara igual que a mí, hasta una próxima oportunidad.

So when it was his turn to face the God of Cookery the dish he decided to prepare was the same noodles that his father was trying to teach him, and he did not have the patience to do it, when he finished the dish instead of giving it to the judges he took it to his opponent, who happened to be his own father, and the latter with tears in his eyes, ate it and told him well done I am proud of you, he left the set and was satisfied, since he never entered the contest to be recognized by the judges and other people as a valuable chef, the only opinion he needed to hear was his father, that he would recognize him as a real chef, and that he would feel proud of him as a son, that was the most valuable title he could have, this last scene moved me so much that it made my heart break for the feeling that it transmitted to me, and that leads us to reflect that as parents we must be careful in the things we say to our children, since they will mark them for life, if you have not yet seen this movie I invite you to do so, I am sure you will like it as I did, until a next opportunity.
