During these last years everything has evolved, some things in a way that maybe we don't like so much and others have taken a masterful 180° turn. A few days ago I had the opportunity to see Spider-man across the spiderverse in the cinema and I have remained thoughtful about several points.

Durante estos últimos años todo ha evolucionado, algunas cosas de una manera que quizá no nos agrade tanto y otras han dado un giro magistral de 180°. Hace unos días tuve la oportunidad de ver Spider-man across the spiderverse en el cine y me he quedado pensativa respecto a varios puntos.

I confess that by 2018 (if I'm not mistaken) when spider-man: into the spiderverse was released, it didn't catch my attention at all to see it because it seemed strange to me that adaptation where spiderman was not Peter Parker but a kid with latin roots, so I said "wtf" and didn't give it the chance that every movie deserves, I never read its reviews nor knew anything more about it, I just ignored it. I think I have learned that these days the rules that my generation grew up with simply don't exist anymore, some call it forced inclusion, I think it's more of a kind of creative liberation, when did we imagine at some point in our childhood that even us girls could be spiderman in some parallel universe? Never, we always pigeonholed ourselves in the same repetitive story with the same old facts and although we didn't find it boring, this new movie made me see that in our generation (and the previous ones) there weren't many innovations that stood out, in fact, I really liked how they make fun of spiderman in spiderman 🤣 alluding to how repetitive uncle Ben's death is in all the movies.

Confieso que para el año 2018 (si no me equivoco) cuando se estrenó spider-man: into the spiderverse, no me llamó para nada la atención verla porque me parecía extraña esa adaptación donde spiderman no era Peter Parker sino que era un niño con raíces latinas, así que dije "wtf" y no le di la oportunidad que toda película se merece, nunca leí sus reseñas ni supe más nada de ella, simplemente la ignoré. Creo que he aprendido que en estos tiempos las reglas con las que crecimos los de mi generación simplemente ya no existen, algunos lo llaman inclusión forzada, yo pienso que es más bien una especie de liberación creativa, ¿cuando nos imaginamos en algún punto de nuestra infancia que incluso nosotras las niñas podríamos ser spiderman en algún universo paralelo? Jamás, siempre nos encasillamos en la misma y repetitiva historia con los mismos hechos de siempre y aunque no nos parecía aburrido, esta nueva película me hizo ver que en nuestra generación (y las anteriores) no hubo muchas innovaciones que destacaran, de hecho, me ha gustado muchísimo como se burlan de spiderman en spiderman 🤣 haciendo alusión a lo repetitiva de la muerte del tío Ben en todas las películas.

Of course this multiverse wave represents an infinity of possibilities to continue monetizing the character, but leaving that aside, I think the creative way they are approaching it has me excited, I grew up watching spider-man and his amazing friends and it was a cartoon that I loved, I can't imagine the excitement of the kids of this generation to see the incredible animation and story that they are creating, to see them identify with all these new characters that break the "normality" is something that I did not imagine would happen because I was too pigeonholed in what I lived in my childhood, which was also cool for us, but times have changed and when something evolves for the better we have to recognize it and applaud it.

Por supuesto que esta onda del multiverso representa una infinidad de posibilidades para seguir monetizando al personaje, pero dejando eso a un lado, creo que la manera creativa en que lo están abordando me tiene emocionada, yo crecí viendo spider-man and his amazing friends y era una caricatura que me encantaba, no imagino la emoción de los niños de esta generación al ver la increíble animación e historia que están creando, verlos identificarse con todos esos nuevos personajes que rompen la "normalidad" es algo que no imaginé que pasaría pues estaba demasiado encasillada en lo que viví en mi infancia, que también era cool para nosotros, pero los tiempos han cambiado y cuando algo evoluciona para bien hay que reconocerlo y aplaudirlo.

The fact that for the animations of this movie the fans have collaborated and even one of them is a teenager, is a sign that nowadays is a time where everyone has the opportunity to achieve great things through technology and I am sure that thanks to this movie many kids will fall in love with drawing, design and art in general, so I am happy to know that in the future there are many more excellent animations and movies created by the children of this generation who were inspired by the innovative story of Miles Morales.

El hecho de que para las animaciones de esta película hayan colaborado los fans e incluso uno de ellos sea un adolescente, es una muestra de que la actualidad es una época donde todos tienen la oportunidad de lograr cosas geniales a través de la tecnología y estoy segura de que gracias a esta película muchos niños se enamoraran del dibujo, del diseño y del arte en general, así que me alegra saber que en el futuro se vienen muchas más excelentes animaciones y películas de nivel creadas por los niños de esta generación que fueron inspirados por la innovadora historia de Miles Morales.
