Although I prefer to enjoy movies in the comfort of my home, as I have told you on several occasions, when it is a premiere whose director or story catches my attention, I choose the option of watching it in the theater without thinking twice, first of all because the sound quality does not compare and this is definitely part of the experience.

Aunque prefiero disfrutar de las películas en la comodidad de mi hogar, como ya les he comentado en varias ocasiones, cuando se trata de un estreno cuyo director o historia me llaman la atención, elijo la opción de verla en el cine sin pensarlo dos veces, en primer lugar porque la calidad de sonido no se compara y esto definitivamente es parte de la experiencia.

Ever since the first images of the Barbie movie came out last year, I couldn't wait to see this movie, mainly because of the nostalgia factor. I remember the first image I saw was the one of the 90s look on roller skates, I almost jumped on one foot because I had that barbie in the 90s and as a fashion lover, I wanted to enjoy the rest of the outfits that would be presented in the movie. Every time a new picture of the shooting came out my excitement grew and I think that beyond the great magnitude of international marketing that this movie had, the fact that it was about a doll that accompanied many women during their childhood was the real hook and if that wasn't enough they used Ryan Gosling to raise our desire to see it, a very successful move 🤭.

Desde que las primeras imágenes de la película Barbie salieron a la luz el año pasado, no veía el momento de ver esta película, principalmente por el factor nostalgia. Recuerdo que la primera imagen que vi fue la del look noventero en patines, casi salto sobre un pie por el hecho de que yo tuve esa barbie en los 90s y como amante de la moda, ya deseaba disfrutar del resto de los outfits que nos presentarían en la película. Cada vez que salía una nueva fotografía del rodaje mi emoción crecía y creo que más allá de la gran magnitud de marketing internacional que tuvo esta película, el hecho de que se tratase de una muñeca que acompañó a muchas de las mujeres durante su infancia fue el verdadero gancho y por si fuese poco utilizaron a Ryan Gosling para elevar nuestro deseo de verla, una jugada muy acertada 🤭

Being Christopher Nolan one of my favorite directors, I knew that Oppenheimer would be one of those films that I had to see in the theater, for its cinematography, its sound and its story. Being about the first nuclear bomb, I was certain that they would play with all these factors and since Nolan never disappoints us (except maybe with Tenet 🤣), I was waiting to come back from my trip in the east of the country to enjoy this cinematic gem. A few days ago, I was doing some pending near the mall and it took me less time than I expected, so the idea of going to the cinema to see both movies hovered in my head, I knew it would be 5 hours of function so at the beginning I thought of seeing only Oppenheimer, but when I got to the box office there was a 20% discount so I had to take advantage of it 🤣 The marathon started at 4:00pm with Oppenheimer, movie that also has Cillian Murphy as the protagonist which was definitely another plus to want to see it. I appreciate that this kind of historical facts are brought to the big screen, because they bring back to the table certain questions about humanity and its decisions; also, raised from the point of view of Oppenheimer, it shows us a side of the facts that we are not told in history classes.

Siendo Cristopher Nolan uno de mis directores preferidos, sabía que Oppenheimer sería una de esas películas que debía ver en el cine, por su fotografía, su sonido y su historia. Tratándose de la primera bomba nuclear, tenía la certeza de que jugarían con todos estos factores y como Nolan jamás nos decepciona (excepto quizás con Tenet 🤣), esperé volver de mi viaje por el oriente del país para disfrutar de esta joya cinematográfica. Hace unos días, estaba realizando algunos pendientes cerca del centro comercial y me tardé menos de lo que esperaba, así que la idea de ir al cine a ver ambas películas rondó mi cabeza, sabía que serían 5 horas de función así que al inició pensé en ver solo Oppenheimer, pero al llegar a la taquilla había un 20% de descuento así que tuve que aprovecharlo 🤣 La maratón inició a las 4:00pm con Oppenheimer, película que además tiene a Cillian Murphy como protagonista lo cual definitivamente era otro plus para desear verla. Agradezco que se lleven este tipo de hechos históricos a la pantalla grande, pues vuelven a traer sobre la mesa ciertos cuestionamientos sobre la humanidad y sus decisiones; además, planteada desde el punto de vista de Oppenheimer, nos muestra un lado de los hechos que no nos comentan en clases de historia.

At 7pm the curtain opened on the pinkest adventure of this summer, I must say that watching Barbie after watching Oppenheimer was a pretty strong contrast hahaha, but I think the other way around I would have had the same feeling. Barbie made me laugh, love fashion a lot more and still hate Will Ferrel hahaha sorry, but out of the whole industry, Will Ferrel is the actor I enjoy the least, I think I can only highlight two movies of him that I liked moderately, and his role in Barbie I think was unnecessary, awkward and even filler because it never even moderately achieves its purpose 🤣 if they remove him the movie would have been totally the same. I have read the same amount of good comments as bad comments about this movie and after watching it I can say that certain messages it tries to convey are quite necessary for the society we live in today, apart from that, it is a movie that of course is not going to be a work of art because this is not its purpose, I mean, it's about toys! just enjoy it and move on.

A las 7pm se abrió el telón de la aventura más pink de este verano, debo decir que ver Barbie después de haber visto Oppenheimer fue un contraste bastante fuerte jajaja, pero creo que al revés hubiese tenido la misma sensación. Barbie me hizo reír, amar mucho más la moda y seguir odiando a Will Ferrel jajaja lo siento, pero de toda la industria, Will Ferrel es el actor que menos disfruto, creo que solo puedo resaltar dos películas de él que me han gustado medianamente, y su papel en Barbie creo que fue innecesario, incómodo e incluso de relleno porque nunca logra su cometido 🤣 si lo eliminan la película hubiese sido totalmente igual. He leído la misma cantidad de buenos comentarios que de malos comentarios sobre esta película y luego de verla puedo decir que ciertos mensajes que trata de transmitir son bastante necesarios para la sociedad en la que vivimos hoy en día, aparte de eso, es una película que por su puesto no va a ser una obra de arte porque esta no es su finalidad, es decir, ¡Es sobre juguetes! solo disfrútenla y sigan adelante.

In the end it was a good choice to go to the movies, I could finally see two movies that I had on my list, I spent a different afternoon and ate delicious food (but I will show you this in another post 🤣). Al final fue una buena elección irme al cine, pude finalmente ver dos películas que tenía en mi lista, pasé una tarde diferente y comí delicioso (pero esto se los mostraré en otro post 🤣).
