[ESP - ENG] THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY - SUPER MARIO MOVIE REVIEW
¡Hola queridos amigos cinéfilos, gamers, amantes de la animación y usuarios de Hive en general! Hoy quiero hacer esta reseña que tenía mucho tiempo queriéndola hacer, pero decidí esperar lo suficiente como para que los spoilers no fuesen tan molestos y como adivinaran por el título se trata de una review de la tan amada y aclamada película del videojuego que ha sentado las bases de los que Nintendo es hoy en día. Sin más preámbulos comencemos.
Hello dear cinephile friends, gamers, animation lovers and Hive users in general! Today I want to do this review that I had a long time wanting to do it, but I decided to wait long enough so that spoilers would not be so annoying and as you guessed by the title it is a review of the much loved and acclaimed video game movie that has laid the foundations of what Nintendo is today. Without further ado, let's get started.
MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE MOVIE

Antes de comenzar con la review como tal, me gustaría contarles un poco el contexto de cómo fue que vi la peli, ya que esto contribuyó mucho en cuanto al disfrute de la misma.
Seré breve, un par de amigos y yo teníamos planeado desde hace un tiempo ir a ver la película, estos amigos llevaron otros amigos, básicamente todos tenían pareja menos yo, así que para no ser el mal tercio, invite a una amiga aunque sin intenciones románticas, algo gracioso que nos pasó fue que mi amiga y yo llegamos tarde porque el bus que tomamos se metió por otra dirección y los nervios nos atacaron porque no conocíamos esa ruta. Una vez que estuvimos en la sala de cine no fue una sorpresa para ninguno ver la sala llena, tanto de niños como de adultos jóvenes y otros no tanto, una de las cosas más divertidas que hicimos mi amiga y yo fue la de decirle a los niños a nuestro alrededor “Tú no sabes nada de Mario” estas cosas sin dudas hicieron que la película fuese bastante disfrutable, pero al salir de la sala algo me tenía un poco molesto acerca de la película y veremos que es a continuación.

STORY, PLOT & REFERENCES

El detalle de que la película fuese un isekai (Historia que se desarrolla cuando el protagonista viaja a otro mundo) fue muy bueno, me encantó que demostraran que Mario y Luigi se esforzaran por vivir de sus sueños aunque les fuese mal y su familia no los apoyara, porque eso es demasiado real, sobre todo con el verdadero público objetivo de la película, el cual no eran los niños, sino los adultos jóvenes, quienes crecieron con los videojuegos de esta industria, supieron como conectar correctamente con la mayoría sino es que con todos ellos.
Las referencias eran abundantes y algunas muy obvias para que todo el que haya jugado aunque sea un solo videojuego de los hermanos fontaneros pudiera captarlas y entenderlas, es decir no necesitabas ser un erudito en la industria gamer para encontrar referencias en la película.

The detail that the movie was an isekai (story that takes place when the protagonist travels to another world) was very good, I loved that they showed that Mario and Luigi strive to live their dreams even if it was bad for them and their family did not support them, because that is too real, especially with the real target audience of the film, which was not children, but young adults, who grew up with the video games of this industry, they knew how to connect correctly with most if not all of them.
The references were abundant and some were very obvious so that anyone who has played even a single game of the plumber brothers could grasp and understand them, i.e. you did not need to be a scholar in the gamer industry to find references in the film.

CHARACTER DESIGN
DISEÑO DE PERSONAJES
Illuminations studios has a very particular style in terms of character design, these usually tend to be deformed, but here due to the influence of Nintendo did a spectacular job adapting the characters of our favorite video games to the big screen, but although the visual and aesthetic aspect is spectacular I do not mean only that, each character has its own particular personality that makes it endearing, including Bowser, and what I like most about this aspect is that these personalities are very much in accordance with the characters of the video games, certainly something to be grateful for.
Illuminations studios tiene un estilo muy particular en cuanto a su diseño de personajes, estos por lo general tienden a ser deformes, pero aquí debido a la influencia de Nintendo hicieron un trabajo espectacular adaptando a los personajes de nuestros videojuegos favoritos a la gran pantalla, pero aunque el aspecto visual y estético es espectacular no me refiero solo a eso, cada personaje tiene su propia y particular personalidad que lo hace entrañable, inclusive Bowser, y lo que más me gusta de este aspecto es que estas personalidad van muy de acuerdo a los personajes de los videojugos, sin duda algo de lo cual estar agradecido.

MUSICALIZACIÓN
Undoubtedly one of the strongest aspects of the film is its epic soundtrack and soundtrack, from the classic sounds of the items and melodies of the 8-bit game to rock classics, yes, I know it's hard to imagine that these styles would combine, but the truth is that they do it very well and make the film much more enjoyable, although in some cases it can play against it.
Sin dudas uno de los aspectos más fuertes de la película es su épica banda sonora y soundtrack, desde los clásicos sonidos de los ítems y las melodías del juego de 8 bits hasta clásicos del rock, si, sé que es difícil imaginar que estos estilos combinarían, pero la verdad es que lo hacen muy bien y hacen que la película se disfrute mucho más, aunque en algunos casos puede llegar a jugarle en contra.

TIME AND PACE
This was what left me a little unsatisfied when I left the theater and why I think that such an epic soundtrack plays a little against the film, I mean, the film has no consistency in the pace at which things happen, that is everything goes too fast, it has a beginning with a calm pace, neither too fast nor too slow, then it gets a little slow when we are shown that Mario's family doesn't support him and it is something that I consider necessary, but from the moment in which Mario and Luigi enter the pipe that would take them to the mushroom kingdom the whole movie seems to take steroids, inject 3 redbull with espresso and go riding on a bullet, everything happens very fast, but the music makes that this is not perceived so much.
At least until the moment when they leave the Kong's garage and then again when Donkey Kong and Mario are inside the giant eel, those moments feel a bit out of place and it's because of the sudden change of pace from very fast to normal, but that normal seems slow with respect to the rest of the movie, I hope I knew how to explain it.

Esto fue lo que me dejo un poco insatisfecho al salir de la sala de cine y por lo que pienso que tan épica banda sonora le juega un poco en contra a la película, me explico, la película no tiene constancia en el ritmo en el cual transcurren las cosas, es decir todo va demasiado rápido, tiene un comienzo con un ritmo tranquilo, ni muy acelerado ni muy lento, luego se pone un poco lento cuando nos muestran que a Mario su familia no lo apoya y es algo que considero necesario, pero desde el momento en el que Mario y Luigi entran a la tubería que los llevaría al reino champiñón toda la película parece tomar esteroides, inyectarse 3 redbull con café expreso e ir montado sobre sobre una bala, todo ocurre muy rápido, pero la música hace que esto no se perciba tanto.

POLÉMICAS ABSURDAS
ABSURD CONTROVERSIES
As with every good movie, there is a group of incorfomous people who can't find anything to complain about, and even though I gave my opinion of the point against the series, these people don't have the same capacity to do so, so they decided to make a fuss about absurd things, such as Bowser being a bully and therefore a bad example, really? The guy who kidnaps people and annihilates kingdoms left and right is a bad example? That must have been a giant surprise. Another thing they complain about is that the song "Peaches" is very sexist and misogynist, ok... it would be passable if those same people didn't listen to much more sexist and misogynist songs, the worst thing about these polemics is that they fall back on the same thing and they all respond with the fact that Bowser is a villain, a bad guy, obviously he has reprehensible behaviors.
Como con toda buena película, hay un grupo de personas incorfomes que no encuentran de que quejarse, y aunque yo di mi opinión del punto en contra que tiene la serie, estas personas no tienen la misma capacidad para hacerlo, así que decidieron hacer escándalo por cosas absurdas, como por ejemplo de que Bowser es un acosado y por ende un mal ejemplo, ¿En serio? ¿El sujeto que rapta personas y aniquila reinos a diestra y siniestra es un mal ejemplo? Debió ser una sorpresa gigante. Otra de las cosas de la que se quejan es que la canción “Peaches” es muy machista y misógina, ok… seria pasable si esas mismas personas no escuchasen canciones mucho más machistas y misóginas, lo peor de estas polémicas es que recaen en lo mismo y todas se responden con el hecho de que Bowser es un villano, un tipo malo, obviamente tiene conductas reprochables.

This was something that did not seem right from the fandom, the movie was not even 24 hours after being released and Facebook was already collapsed with spoilers of it, this seemed very bad taste and perhaps ruined the movie to more than one because you could almost put together the whole movie by joining the memes of it.
Esto fue algo que no me pareció correcto de parte del fandom, la película no tenía ni 24 horas de haber sido estrenada y ya Facebook estaba colapsado de spoilers de la misma, esto me pareció muy de mal gusto y quizás le arruino la película a más de uno porque casi podías armar la película completa uniendo los memes de la misma.

OPINIÓN FINAL
FINAL OPINION
The movie is very good but, honestly I wouldn't watch it twice, or at least I wouldn't repeat it often, what I mentioned before about the rhythm really affects the rest of the movie and once you already know the references it gets boring, it's not a bad movie at all, but I think some opinions about it are very exaggerated and at least I personally wouldn't repeat it soon, but in general terms it's an excellent movie that I think all fans of the franchise or anyone who has played even a single Mario game in their life, should watch it.
La película es muy buena pero, sinceramente no la vería 2 veces, o al menos no la repetiría seguido, lo que mencione anteriormente sobre el ritmo realmente afecta al resto de la película y una vez que ya conoces las referencias se hace aburrida, no es una mala película para nada, pero creo que algunas opiniones sobre ella son muy exageradas y al menos yo en lo personal no la repetiría pronto, pero en términos generales es una excelente película que creo que todos los fans de la franquicia o quien haya jugado aunque sea un solo juego de Mario en su vida, debería verla.

Saludos amigo, genial que hayas podido ir a disfrutar de esta nueva producción junto a tu amiga y a pesar de las adversidades llegaron a tiempo. También tuve la oportunidad de verla y fue una grandiosa película, puesto que la manera como la adaptaron, aun así podemos notar eso errores que pudieron haber mejorado y eso que comentas cuando entran a la tubería es una locura y son detalles que pueden generar una crítica, además le ritmo de la misma. Mas allá de eso siempre va a mantener la esencia de Marios Bros. Gracias por compartirlo con nosotros.

¡Og por Dios! No sabía lo de las feministas. Bowser siemper fue mi personaje preferido, de niña le tenía miedo y después lo consideré un buen villano y hasta carismático y gracioso. En la peli esto profundiza más y sus escenas son muy graciosas. Este personaje es como Pepe le Pew la gracia y el chiste que tiene es que la dama no le presta atención, precisamente oir Peaches mientras Bowser la canta todo inspirado causa más risa sabiendo que la princesa ni atención le presta, últimamente la gente por todo se queja 🙄🙄 Muy buen post
Ciertamente, hoy e quejan por todo, la verdad es que a mi me encantó el personaje de Bowser y me encanto que Jack Black le diese voz, definitivamente es uno de mis personajes favoritos. Gracias por tu comentario y por pasarte a leer, saludos.
