Continuando con otra temporada de una de mis series favoritas creada por Ryan Murphy y Bad Falchuk, la cual es American Horror Story. En esta oportunidad vi la sexta temporada de la serie, la cual ya les adelanto, me perturbo mucho, me dio bastante miedo y la sentí más diferente a las demás. En esta temporada nos situamos en un territorio embrujado, la colonia de Roanoke, y también nos presentan la historia, los primeros capítulos como un documental llamado "Mi pesadilla en Roanoke" con actores que interpretan lo que pasó y los sobrevivientes reales comentando las escenas, estilo reality.

Continuing with another season of one of my favorite series created by Ryan Murphy and Bad Falchuk, which is American Horror Story. This time I watched the sixth season of the series, which I already tell you, it disturbed me a lot, it was quite scary and I felt it more different from the others. In this season we are set in a haunted territory, the Roanoke colony, and we are also presented with the story, the first chapters as a documentary called “My nightmare in Roanoke” with actors who interpret what happened and the real survivors commenting on the scenes, reality style.

Como les comente, la primera mitad está contada como un documental que al principio no entendía, pero luego de varios capítulos capte la dinámica. Nos estaban contando como una pareja compra una casa en medio de la nada, que estaba embrujada y que no lo sabían hasta que comienzan a pasar cosas extrañas. La casa estaba en una colonia que desapareció, donde una vez al año ocurría algo llamado "Luna de sangre" y los fantasmas que murieron ahí regresaban para seguir matando. Todo esto es la explicación básica que entendí como en el capítulo 6, por lo tanto, los primeros capítulos para mí fueron muy fuertes y llenos de miedo. Los protagonistas eran una pareja (Shelby y Matt Miller), la hermana de Matt, (Lee Harris) y su hija (Flora), además del papá de la niña que posteriormente muere.

As I mentioned, the first half is told as a documentary that at first I didn't understand, but after several chapters I caught the dynamic. They were telling us how a couple buys a house in the middle of nowhere, that it was haunted and they didn't know it until strange things start to happen. The house was in a colony that disappeared, where once a year something called “Blood Moon” happened and the ghosts that died there came back to continue killing. All this is the basic explanation I understood as in chapter 6, so the first chapters for me were very strong and full of fear. The main characters were a couple (Shelby and Matt Miller), Matt's sister, (Lee Harris) and their daughter (Flora), plus the girl's dad who later dies.

Cuando los protagonistas logran escapar de la casa prometen nunca volver y sanar, pero luego del documental las vidas de ellos no logran ser las mismas, las relaciones se rompen y nadie es feliz. El productor del documental decide hacerlos volver, los convence y con muchas más cámaras tratan de simular cosas paranormales en plena luna de sangre. Pero lo que él no sabía es que todo lo que iba a pasar sería en serio. Y teniendo un elenco más grande, conformado por los "actores" y los sobrevivientes iniciales, encerrados sin comunicación mientras todo estaba siendo grabado, van muriendo uno por uno, de formas paranormales y también por personas que vivían cerca y tenían cosas pendientes.

When the protagonists manage to escape from the house they promise never to return and heal, but after the documentary their lives fail to be the same, relationships break down and no one is happy. The producer of the documentary decides to bring them back, convinces them and with many more cameras they try to simulate paranormal things in the middle of the blood moon. But what he didn't know is that everything that was going to happen would be for real. And having a larger cast, made up of the “actors” and the initial survivors, locked up without communication while everything was being recorded, they are dying one by one, in paranormal ways and also by people who lived nearby and had things pending.

Esta vez, el documental no es emitido, ya que todos mueren menos una persona, Lee Harris, quien sería la hermana del "protagonista" Matt Miller. Ella es acusada de la muerte de su exesposo Mason, que no fue parte del "programa", ya que él realmente muere y es interpretado por un actor para el documental. Ella confiesa que sí lo mató en una cámara cuando vuelven a Roanoke y también mata a algunos de sus compañeros, pero queda suelta porque la encontraron inocente por "trauma y drogas". Yo me molesté mucho, sentía que Shelby merecía vivir cuando las encontró la policía y que Lee había hecho mucho mal, pero la serie nos da un final correcto, con la muerte de Lee en la última vez que visita Roanoke porque su hija Flora ya más grande, escapa buscando a su amiga fantasma.

This time, the documentary is not broadcasted, as everyone dies but one person, Lee Harris, who would be the sister of the “protagonist” Matt Miller. She is accused of the death of her ex-husband Mason, who was not part of the “show”, as he actually dies and is played by an actor for the documentary. She confesses that she did kill him on camera when they return to Roanoke and also kills some of his companions, but is let off because she was found not guilty by “trauma and drugs”. I was very upset, I felt that Shelby deserved to live when the police found them and that Lee had done a lot of wrong, but the series gives us a correct ending, with Lee's death on the last time she visits Roanoke because her daughter Flora, now older, escapes looking for her ghost friend.

Finalmente, la mansión Roanoke es quemada desde dentro, dejando como una sobreviviente a Flora, que le promete a su mamá y a su amiga fantasma regresar para visitar, lo cual fue muy raro para un final de temporada, aunque muy AHS. Y nos despide con un plano de la luna de sangre y los fantasmas bajando lentamente a la mansión que está llena de policías. La verdad esta temporada es más oscura y tiene muchos fantasmas, pero sentí que no conecte con ninguno, no como en Murder House o en Hotel. Además, también tiene varias historias que narran el pasado en Roanoke, que no les conté, pero sí son muy interesantes y hace entender esta temporada. Y creo que esta no es una de mis favoritas, conecte más con Freak Show, pero si les gusta el terror en definitiva les gustará esta temporada, nos leemos pronto!

Finally, the Roanoke mansion is burned from the inside, leaving as a survivor Flora, who promises her mom and her ghost friend to come back to visit, which was very odd for a season finale, albeit very AHS. And it sends us off with a shot of the blood moon and the ghosts slowly descending into the mansion which is filled with cops. Truth be told this season is darker and has a lot of ghosts, but I felt like I didn't connect with any of them, not like Murder House or Hotel. Besides, it also has several stories that tell the past in Roanoke, which I didn't tell you, but they are very interesting and makes you understand this season. And I think this is not one of my favorites, connect more with Freak Show, but if you like horror you will definitely like this season, see you soon!
