¿No les pasa que están viendo una serie, pero no quieren hablar de ella porque todo el mundo la está viendo y es tendencia? La verdad, a mí me pasa demasiado en la vida, hay un montón de series que he visto, pero de las que no he realizado una reseña porque no me gusta que mi opinión sea "una más del montón", prefiero esperar un tiempo y cuando recuerde, hablar de ello, incluso recientemente me pasó eso con la serie Queen Charlotte de Netflix, esa reseña vendrá para unas semanas después. Y hablando del tema en particular, hoy vamos a debatir sobre una serie que volvió loca al internet en 2022: House of the Dragon.

Don't you ever find yourself watching a series, but you don't want to talk about it because everyone else is watching it and it's trending? The truth, it happens to me too much in life, there are a lot of series that I have seen, but of which I have not done a review because I don't like my opinion to be "one more of the bunch", I prefer to wait a while and when I remember, talk about it, even recently that happened to me with the Netflix series Queen Charlotte, that review will come for a few weeks later. And speaking of the particular topic, today we are going to discuss a series that drove the internet crazy in 2022: House of the Dragon.

Para los que vimos y nos gustó Game of Thrones esta era una serie que si o si teníamos que ver, aunque todos estábamos a la expectativa, puesto que ya conocemos el final de dicha serie y sabemos que no terminó como se esperaba, quizás en algún momento les cuente mis opiniones. Pero, hablando del tema en sí, House of the Dragon nos presentaba la historia de la familia Targeryn, específicamente de la época en donde todo se fue al demonio, no de los inicios como tal, sino de la guerra civil y el fin de la dinastía Targaryen.

Iniciábamos la historia conociendo a Viserys, quien se convertiría en rey, y años más tarde, en búsqueda de un heredero varón sin éxito, decide colocar como heredera a su hija Raenyra, por encima de su propio hermano, Daemon, ya que era bastante conflictivo. Con la muerte de su esposa el rey decide casarse, pero en vez de hacerlo con una mujer de familia importante, lo hace con una chica que no tenía mucha relevancia, alborotando un poco todo, y con el pasar de los años tiene 3 hijos, siendo 2 varones, momento de tensión para la heredera en cuestión.

For those of us who watched and liked Game of Thrones this was a series that if or if we had to see, although we were all in expectation, since we already know the end of that series and we know that it did not end as expected, maybe at some point I will tell you my opinions. But, speaking of the subject itself, House of the Dragon presented the story of the Targeryn family, specifically the time when everything went to hell, not the beginnings as such, but the civil war and the end of the Targaryen dynasty.

We began the story knowing Viserys, who would become king, and years later, in search of a male heir without success, decides to place as heir to his daughter Raenyra, over his own brother, Daemon, as he was quite conflictive. With the death of his wife, the king decides to marry, but instead of marrying a woman of an important family, he does it with a girl who had little relevance, stirring everything up a bit, and over the years he has 3 children, 2 of them boys, a moment of tension for the heiress in question.

Y aunque el rey Viserys presiona a su hija para casarse con un Velaryon, una familia importante y descendiente de la antigua Valyria, al momento de su muerte las cosas se vuelven locas. Si bien Raenyra y Allicent eran muy amigas cuando pequeñas, las decisiones, desconfianza y los arrebatos de poder las separaron por completo. Siendo Allicent una de las principales personas en alentar a su hijo Aegon a reclamar el trono. Y Raenyra por su parte, cuando se entera de esto, también quiere guerra, para reclamar lo que su padre le dejo como herencia, de la mano de su tío Daemon, como su nuevo esposo.

Una de las cosas que más me gustaron de esta serie fue toda su historia, siento que es muy interesante, puedes observar las distintas versiones, todo lo que pasa, sacas tus teorías de lo que no se ve y también, a pesar de que es una serie que todos sabemos como va a terminar, yo quiero ver que pasa, que omiten, que agregan y que cambian. A veces veía los memes sobre la serie y muchas personas decían que parecía una novela, por todo el drama, pero la verdad es que si lo parecía, solo que tenía un tono de fantasía super heavy. El tema de los dragones hace la serie super atractiva y evidentemente, la Casa Targaryen no decepciona.

And although King Viserys pressures his daughter to marry a Velaryon, an important family and descendant of ancient Valyria, at the time of his death things go haywire. While Raenyra and Allicent were close friends as children, decisions, mistrust and power grabs drove them completely apart. Allicent being one of the main people to encourage her son Aegon to claim the throne. And Raenyra for her part, when she learns of this, also wants war, to claim what her father left her as an inheritance, from the hand of her uncle Daemon, as her new husband.

One of the things I liked the most about this series was all its history, I feel it is very interesting, you can watch the different versions, everything that happens, you get your theories out of what is not seen and also, even though it is a series that we all know how it is going to end, I want to see what happens, what they omit, what they add and what they change. Sometimes I saw memes about the series and many people said that it seemed like a novel, because of all the drama, but the truth is that it did, it just had a super heavy fantasy tone. The dragon theme makes the series super engaging and evidently, House Targaryen does not disappoint.
