El Grinch: Análisis | The Grinch: Movie Analysis
¡Saludos amigos! quería pasar por aquí antes de que cerrara la competencia de películas de Navidad porque le tengo mucho cariño, creo que uno de mis primeros post en Hive fue escribiendo para una, así que les traigo mi review de una de las películas que más me gusta ver en Navidad, “El Grinch”.
Greetings friends! I wanted to stop by before the Christmas movie competition closed because I am very fond of it, I think one of my first post on Hive was writing for one, so I bring you my review of one of the movies I like to watch the most at Christmas, "The Grinch."
Sumido en su cueva dentro de una montaña alejado de Villa Quien, donde se encuentran el resto de los pobladores de este lugar remoto dentro de un copo de nieve, habita un ser único, uno que no siempre perteneció a ese lugar pero que decidió que estar solo era lo mejor para él.
En compañía de su único amigo, Max, vive encerrado entre sus pensamientos y sus paredes cubiertas de restos de regalos de navidad, sin que le importe absolutamente nadie más, solo él y su fiel compañero.
Hasta que un día en plena fecha decembrina, toca a su puerta una linda niña llamada Cindy lou que llegará a revolucionar toda la vida de alistamiento abandono y rabia en la que vivía sumido este solitario ser.
In his cave inside a mountain far away from Villa Quien, where the rest of the inhabitants of this remote place are located inside a snowflake, lives a unique being, one who did not always belong to that place but decided that being alone was the best for him.
In the company of his only friend, Max, he lives enclosed between his thoughts and his walls covered with the remains of Christmas presents, without caring about anyone else, just him and his faithful companion.
Until one day in the middle of the Christmas season, a pretty girl named Cindy Lou knocks on his door, which will come to revolutionize the whole life of abandonment and rage in which this lonely being was living.
¿Podrá hacer Cindy que el Grinch le abra su puerta?, ¿Saldrá de su cueva por fin?, ¿Podrá hacerlo recuperar un poco la fe en las personas? ¿Empezará a disfrutar de la Navidad?, ¿Cambiará un poco su forma de ser?, Tendrás que ver esta maravillosa película para saber la respuesta a todas estas incógnitas.
[Alerta Spoilers, haré algunos análisis de la personalidad del Grinch y de la historia, por lo que es muy posible que consigan algunos spoilers por aquí y por allá, aunque dudo que a estas alturas alguien por aquí no haya visto o leído esta obra maravillosa del maravilloso Dr. Seuss]
Will Cindy be able to make the Grinch open his door, will he finally come out of his cave, will he be able to recover a little faith in people, will he start to enjoy Christmas, will he change a little his way of being, you will have to watch this wonderful movie to know the answer to all these unknowns.
[Spoiler Alert, I will do some analysis of the Grinch's personality and the story, so you may well get some spoilers here and there, although I doubt that by now anyone around here hasn't seen or read this wonderful work by the wonderful Dr. Seuss].
Sé que debe haber unas 300 entradas del Grinch cada año, pero ¡no importa! yo haré la mía este año porque no seguiré pasando la oportunidad de hablar de uno de los personajes más queridos para mí, porque sí, el Grinch podrá ser feo, odioso o insoportable, pero para mí es un ser único y especial.
Sabemos que por su color y su personalidad él es bastante diferente al resto y por eso es único, pero no es solo por eso que lo digo, si has leído mi blog con anterioridad sabrás que me enfoco en hablar de enfermedades mentales, pues cuando vi el Grinch por primera vez me recordó una etapa bastante triste de mi vida donde yo actuaba exactamente igual que él.
Sí, no era verde, ni grande, pero yo también sentía que odiaba a todo el mundo y solo quería estar encerrada en mi habitación haciendo lo único que yo quería, que era solo estar conmigo misma, hundida en mis pensamientos, decir que quería estar alejada de todos, pero, la verdad, es que internamente me preocupaba por todo y todos.
Por eso siempre he pensado en el Grinch como alguien incomprendido que entre sus muchos mecanismos de defensa psicológicos escogió, inconscientemente, los peores para protegerse trasladando todo ese daño que le hicieron hacia un odio desmedido a las personas, la navidad y consecuentemente encerrarse en sí mismo.
I know there must be about 300 entries about the Grinch every year, but it doesn't matter! I will do mine this year because I will not keep passing the opportunity to talk about one of the most beloved characters for me, because yes, the Grinch may be ugly, hateful or unbearable, but for me he is a unique and special being.
We know that because of his color and his personality he is quite different from the rest and that's why he is unique, but that's not the only reason why I say so, if you have read my blog before you will know that I focus on talking about mental illness, because when I saw the Grinch for the first time it reminded me of a very sad stage of my life where I acted exactly like him.
Yes, he wasn't green, or big, but I also felt like I hated everyone and just wanted to be locked in my room doing the only thing I wanted, which was just to be with myself, sunk in my thoughts, say I wanted to be away from everyone, but, the truth, is that internally I was worried about everything and everyone.
That is why I have always thought of the Grinch as someone misunderstood that among his many psychological defense mechanisms he chose, unconsciously, the worst ones to protect himself by transferring all the damage that was done to him towards an excessive hatred of people, Christmas and consequently to shut himself up in himself.
Porque sí, no olvidemos todo lo que pasó el Grinch cuando era pequeño, era un niño sin pleno conocimiento de lo que eran los sentimientos cuando se enamoró la primera vez y fue burlado por sus compañeros, estamos claros de que esta película es una narración ficticia, pero este es un personaje que fácilmente podemos encontrarlo en nuestras distintas familias, porque siempre existe esa persona que odia la navidad, ahora ¿se han puesto a pensar en su pasado?, ¿Por qué odia ese ser querido la navidad?
La realidad es que no era porque era específicamente la navidad, el Grinch odiaba ver felices a los demás, ¿la razón? porque él no podía serlo, así que su inconsciente rechazaba a todo el que viera feliz, por eso como la navidad es una época asociada principalmente a la felicidad, él la odiaba.
Él básicamente suprimió todo el dolor que recibió cuando era un niño, momento más importante de la formación de la estabilidad mental del ser humano, y lo convirtió en rabia y rencor, además de esto fue abandonado, porque, sí, él se aisló, pero todos sabían dónde estaba ¿Por qué nadie lo visitó? Todos le tenían miedo, todos lo rechazaban así que ayudaron a crear ese pequeño monstruito en el que se convirtió.
Because yes, let's not forget everything that the Grinch went through when he was little, he was a child without full knowledge of what feelings were when he fell in love the first time and was mocked by his classmates, we are clear that this movie is a fictional narrative, but this is a character that we can easily find in our different families, because there is always that person who hates Christmas, now have you ever thought about his past, why does that loved one hate Christmas?
The reality is that it was not because it was specifically Christmas, the Grinch hated to see others happy, the reason? because he could not be, so his unconscious rejected anyone who saw happy, so as Christmas is a time associated primarily with happiness, he hated it.
He basically suppressed all the pain he received as a child, the most important moment in the formation of the mental stability of the human being, and turned it into anger and resentment, in addition to this he was abandoned, because, yes, he isolated himself, but everyone knew where he was, why no one visited him? Everyone was afraid of him, everyone rejected him, so they helped to create the little monster he became.
Considero que esta es una de las mejores películas de la navidad, pero no solo por el Grinch, el mensaje en general que da es hermoso porque nos permite ver el verdadero significado de la navidad, ese que no es comprar regalos, que no es sólo decorar, es el compartir la alegría y paz entre todos, mientras esperan la llegada del niño Jesús y de Santa.
Lo material no lo es todo, porque sí, los personajes de “Villa Quien” también aprendieron que no todo en la navidad se trataba de dar regalos o adornar sus casas con miles de arreglos navideños, El Grinch llegó para enseñarles todo esto, para encontrar un equilibrio entre tanta exageración, un poco de verde entre tanto rojo y blanco que rodeaba la navidad de la villa.
I consider this to be one of the best Christmas movies, but not only because of the Grinch, the overall message it gives is beautiful because it allows us to see the true meaning of Christmas, that is not buying gifts, that is not just decorating, it is sharing joy and peace among all, while waiting for the arrival of the baby Jesus and Santa.
The material is not everything, because yes, the characters of "Villa Quien" also learned that not everything at Christmas was about giving gifts or decorating their homes with thousands of Christmas arrangements, The Grinch came to teach them all this, to find a balance between so much exaggeration, a little green among so much red and white that surrounded the Christmas of the village.
La comprensión de que no todos somos iguales, un punto fundamental que se resalta en la película, el hecho de que no todo lo homogéneo es lo que está bien, también en la heterogeneidad hay belleza, también puede haber personas diferentes y no tenemos por qué tratarlos diferentes, ni ser merecedores de menos empatía y amor.
Ya para finalizar el post, solo quiero dejar este aprendizaje final que nos deja esta película, “todos podemos salir del abismo autoimpuesto” en el momento menos esperado, bien sea por nosotros mismos o con la ayuda de unas pequeñas manos que lleguen a despertarnos de la pesadilla.
Así que invito a todo el que vea esta película a convertirse en esa pequeña niña llamada Cindy Lou, que no tiene prejuicios y que con su pura inocencia fue capaz de convertir a un monstruo en un ser igual a ella, con los mismos sentimientos de amor y solidaridad, un ser feliz que, aun cuando era diferente, fue capaz de convivir entre los demás en sana paz.

The understanding that we are not all the same, a fundamental point that is highlighted in the film, the fact that not everything homogeneous is what is right, also in heterogeneity there is beauty, there may also be different people and we do not have to treat them differently, nor be deserving of less empathy and love.
To end the post, I just want to leave this final learning that this film leaves us, "we can all get out of the self-imposed abyss" at the least expected moment, either by ourselves or with the help of small hands that come to wake us up from the nightmare.
So I invite everyone who sees this film to become that little girl named Cindy Lou, who has no prejudices and who with her pure innocence was able to turn a monster into a being just like her, with the same feelings of love and solidarity, a happy being who, even though she was different, was able to coexist among others in healthy peace.

Buenas... Vengo por aquí a decir que soy ese 0.00001% que no ha visto tal película. Pues mi querida @liveofdalla No es que me sienta Grinch ni nada por el estilo, sino q asocio la navidad con familia, amigos, compartir, alegría, celebración, hallacas, bebidas, viajes, "entrega todooooo Maigualida" y siendo solo mi mamá y yo, todo fue sinónimo de aburrición. Pero si conozco de personas que odian estas fiestas o son las mas tristes, no les digo Grinch porque entiendo su dolor; solo me queda entender que en la viña del señor hay de todo. No comparto que lo quieran meter como simbolo navideño pero veo que ha gustado mucho así que dentro de poco lo veremos al lado de la mula y el buey 🤣.
Para mí es mas improtante el carnaval, así que prepara tu review de alguna película 🤣😅.

Jajajajaja "Prepara todo maigualida" lo leí con la voz de George Harris florecita jajajajaja ¿te imaginas que en algún momento veamos al Grinch al lado de los reyes magos caminando a belen? Jajajaja me hiciste imaginar eso ¡Eres la mejor! Te entiendo lo que dices de tu familia, la mía tampoco es muy grande y en realidad todo el significado de la navidad se la doy a mis sobrinitos felices con sus juegos artificiales y sus regalos, para mí es lo más bonito de todo, en realidad lo demás son solo extras, así que no sabes cuando te comprendo. De igual forma ¡Feliz Navidad y Año Nuevo Florecitaaa! 🫂💞
Hola, también el Grinch es una de mis peliculas favoritas, no la recordaba, así que me puse a verla de nuevo en estos días y no pude evitar soltar una que otra lagrimita. Es una pelicula divertida, pero con un gran mensaje aleccionador. Es un clásico que siempre veremos en navidad, y si, el Grinch nos enseña la otra cara de la moneda, a muchos la navidad les trae nostalgia, por eso se identifican con el personaje. Saludos.
Hola amiga, siempre ha sido de mis películas favoritas, la actuación de Jim Carrey fue maravillosa, por cierto no hablé de ella en el post, es que hay muchas cosas que hablar de ella podría haber hecho un post de 3000 palabras, así que mejor no 😅😅, yo la veo todos los años, es una película que enseña mucho, la he visto con mis sobrinitos y la aman también, así que el mensaje siento que llega a todas las edades, por eso considero que es una buena película de navidad. Este filme también es uno de mis favoritos. Y Cindy Lou, es una niña especial que logro ver los sentimientos y el alma del señor Grinch y comprendedlo.

Mafita queridaaa un abrazo, a mi me encanta cincy porque con su inocencia y sin prejuicios ella fue allá a sacar de esa cueva a ese ser que todos llamaban malos demostrándole a todos que solo no se habían dado el tiempo para conocerlo y comprender que había detras de ese color verde y ese mal humor.
