A City Fit for Blade Runners
There is no grand design in this city, and its organic growth reminds me of an organism. Each inhabitant is a cell in this organism, encased in a carapace of technology. The Gaia theory may not be so far fetched after all. It's just that she's not the foliage-laden creature that many envisioned in the past. She comes wearing an electronic dress.
I took this shot because it reminded me of the opening scene in Blade Runner with the hovercraft approaching the city. Large multi-media billboards accentuate the skyline of this dystopic metropolis.
We don't have hovercrafts flying in our skylines; the streets are not really dystopic though we're trying our darndest best; and although the billboards are not of a comparable scale as those in the film, I kind of like what I see. It's a city with spunk and style.
