Greetings to the beautiful community of movie lovers at Movies and TV Show! This is my first movie review and my first post in this community. I hope you like it.

This Sunday, I had the pleasure of enjoying "I Choose Love", an interactive movie directed by Stuart McDonald and distributed by Netflix. This was my first experience with this type of movie.

The story follows the protagonist of these multiple plots, Cami Conway, played by Laura Marano, known for her roles in "A Modern Cinderella" and "Royal Treatment."

The film begins with Cami conversing with a fortune teller. Despite having everything—a boyfriend who loves her and a job she enjoys—she feels that something is missing in her life. (Sometimes we have everything to be happy, and we insist on thinking about what we could have; this is the perfect recipe for not enjoying life.)

"Tres amores, tres caminos, tres decisiones, y diversas posibilidades. ¿Alguna vez has mirado atrás y te has preguntado cómo sería tu vida hoy si hubieras seguido un sueño, te hubieras casado con tu primer amor o hubieras cambiado una respuesta en tu vida?

Este domingo tuve el placer de disfrutar de "Elijo Amor", una película interactiva dirigida por Stuart McDonald y distribuida por Netflix. Esta fue mi primera experiencia con este tipo de películas.

La historia sigue a la protagonista de estas múltiples tramas, Cami Conway, interpretada por Laura Marano, conocida por su papel en "Una Cenicienta Moderna" y "Tratamiento Real".

La película comienza con Cami conversando con una adivina. A pesar de tenerlo todo, un novio que la ama y un trabajo que disfruta, siente que le falta algo en su vida. (A veces tenemos todo para ser felices y nos empeñamos en pensar en lo que podríamos tener, esta es la receta perfecta para no disfrutar de la vida).

Before continuing with the analysis, I want to explain an interesting detail. The film breaks the fourth wall, a theatrical term meaning that the actors interact directly with the audience. This surprised me, as I was expecting a typical light romantic comedy for family viewing. Oh, because my husband and I always look for movies suitable for 13-year-olds because we have a little girl at home, and well, we have to watch what she can consume on the internet and streaming channels.

Antes de continuar con el análisis, quiero explicar un detalle interesante. La película rompe la cuarta pared, un término teatral que significa que los actores interactúan directamente con el público. Esto me sorprendió, ya que esperaba una típica comedia romántica ligera para ver en familia. Ah, porque les cuento, mi esposo y yo siempre buscamos películas aptas para niños de 13 años porque tenemos una pequeña en casa y pues, hay que vigilar lo que ella pueda consumir en internet y en canales streaming.

Volviendo a la película, me sorprendió la interacción de la actriz con el público, pero eso no llegaba allí, (Alerta de spoilers) resulta que la adivina le lee las cartas para predecir su futuro y le pregunta a ella si quiere la buena o la mala noticia, a lo que en la pantalla aparecen las opciones "Buena noticia" y "Mala noticia" y yo "wow ¿Puedo elegir? Y coloqué primero la buena noticia, pero en la pantalla estaba la opción de devolverte y lo hice yéndome por la mala noticia, ja, ja, ja que en lo particular no me pareció una mala noticia, para ver cómo continuaba la historia, al principio no cambiaba mucho la secuencia, pero luego las decisiones se hacían más intensas causando historias y escenas paralelas.

In that consultation, the fortune-teller tells her of three suitors (the magician, the knight of swords, and the madman). She is surprised because she only has one love, who is Paul (Scott Michael Foster), and the fortune-teller tells her that soon the other two will arrive.

En esa consulta la adivina le habla de tres pretendientes (El mago, el caballero de espadas y el loco) ella se sorprende porque solamente tiene un amor que es Paul (Scott Michael Foster), a lo que la adivina le dice que pronto llegarán los otros dos.

She continues with her normal life with her perfect boyfriend (the magician) because he knows her and loves her so much that he seems to guess her thoughts, plus he is super handsome, smart, and a successful lawyer. They go on a couple's outing where Cami's niece is having a hard time going to school the next day because her parents can't take her, to which Cami offers, and as she takes her by the hand to school, she remembers what the fortune-teller tells her that she was supposed to help a child in trouble.

Ella continúa con su vida normal con su novio perfecto (El mago) porque la conoce y la ama tanto que parece que adivinara sus pensamientos, además de que es súper guapo, inteligente y un exitoso abogado. Van a una salida en parejas en donde la sobrina de Cami tiene una dificultad para ir al colegio al día siguiente porque sus padres no la pueden llevar, a lo que Cami se ofrece y mientras la lleva de la mano al colegio recuerda lo que la adivina le dice que debía ayudar a un niño en aprietos.

Suddenly in the schoolyard appears the Knight of Swords that is Jak (Jordi Webber), her first love from school that she could never get over and who separated from her when she was still very young to go save the world. He is a guy who is always fighting for just causes, works with children, defends foundations, and in some ways has not changed much since they were 15 years old.

Here come a series of interactions that leave the viewers with the power to decide for Camí, whether to give her number to Jak, whether to talk to her about her boyfriend Paul, or whether to accept a way out; they are many decisions that, although small, certainly not only in the film but in life itself change the course of everything.

De pronto en el patio del colegio aparece el Caballero de espadas que es Jak (Jordi Webber) Su primer amor de colegio que nunca pudo suparar y que se separó de ella siendo todavía muy joven para ir a salvar el mundo, él es un tipo que siempre anda peleando por causas justas, trabaja con niños, defiende fundaciones y en cierto modo no ha cambiado mucho desde que tenían 15 años.

Aquí vienen una serie de interacciones que nos deja a los espectadores el poder de decidir por Camí, si caer en la tentación de darle su número a Jak, si hablarle de su novio Paul, si aceptarle una salida; son muchas decisiones que aunque pequeñas, ciertamente no únicamente en la película, sino, en la vida misma cambia el curso de todo.

I forgot to tell you that Cami is a sound engineer and works in a recording studio making commercials for natural remedies, and that day, after the shock of seeing her knight in shining armor, she meets the crazy Rex (the sexy Avan Jogia) a good-hearted and not at all stable rock star in his personal life who curiously helps her to achieve her dream of being a singer, which she mentions at the beginning of the movie, but she doesn't believe it can come true.

With each interaction with these characters, the ending changes; she can stay with my favorite, Paul, with her teenage love, with the rock star, or even without any of them.

I managed to see three alternate endings, but I'm sure I could have seen many other scenes. I just didn't want to rewatch the movie because it was too late for me.

Olvidé decirles que Cami es ingeniera de sonidos y trabaja en un estudio de grabación haciendo cuñas para remedios naturales y ese día, luego del shock de ver a su caballero de espadas, se encuentra con el loco, Rex (El sexi Avan Jogia) una super estrella de Rock de buen corazón y nada de estable en su vida personal que curiosamente le ayuda a conseguir su sueño de ser cantante, cosa que ella menciona al inicio de la película, pero que ella no cree que pueda hacerse realidad.

Con cada interacción con estos personajes cambia el final, ella puede quedarse con mi favorito, Paul, con su amor de adolescencia, con el Rock Star e inclusive sin ninguno de ellos.
Yo logré ver tres finales alternativos, pero estoy segura de que pude haber visto muchas otras escenas, solamente que no quise repetir la película porque ya era muy tarde para mí.

No recuerdo cuántas interacciones en total tiene la película, pero son al menos unas 20 si mal no recuerdo, mi primera opción siempre fue Paul, pero también le di una oportunidad a Rex y por último a Jak.

It is not a deep film that makes you think or reflect on things about love and relationships, nor did I see any moral beyond thinking twice before making a decision at work, with your partner, family, children, and friends, because certainly nothing is written; we are the writers and editors of our lives, so always, always try to act in the best way, with intelligence and some wisdom.

As for the plot, it is not one of my favorites because, due to the nature of the movie, they did not focus on those details that make you keep your attention when a plot develops but rather on the game of interaction with the audience, something that amused me a lot because they allowed me to be the ventriloquist of the story. So out of 5, I give 4 stars to this romance movie, and I invite you to meet the characters so you can choose who Cami stays with or if she should stay alone and pursue her dreams.

No es una película profunda que te haga pensar o reflexionar cosas del amor y las relaciones de pareja, tampoco le vi ninguna moraleja, más allá de pensarte dos veces las cosas antes de tomar una decisión en el trabajo, con tu pareja, familia, hijos y amigos, porque ciertamente nada está escrito, nosotros somos los escritores y editores de nuestra vida, así que siempre, siempre trata de actuar de la mejor manera, con inteligencia y algo de sabiduría.

En cuanto a la trama no es de mis favoritas porque por la naturaleza de la película no se enfocaron en esos detalles que hacen mantener la atención cuando se desarrolla una trama, sino más bien al juego de interacción con el público, cosa que me divirtió un buen rato porque me permitieron ser el ventrílocuo de la historia, así que de 5, le doy 4 estrellas a esta película de romance y les invito a conocer a los personajes para que puedan elegir con quién se queda Cami, si ella debería quedarse sola y perseguir sus sueños.
