Since neither my sister nor I had children until now, we decided to maternity through our little nieces. I think this is the best thing that could happen to a child these days: having several single and childless uncles who want to go out for a walk on the weekends, see new places and eat a little junk food (if the parents allow it). ). Lately, my cousin's daughters have taken advantage of this advantage a lot, because they look forward to the weekend until they know if we will do something fun. This weekend the weather was not the best of all to be outdoors because winter is coming, so going to the movies was, what we thought until then, the best option 😅.

Yo creo que esto es lo mejor que le pude pasar a un niño actualmente: tener varios tíos solteros y sin hijos con ganas de salir a pasear los fines de semana, conocer lugares nuevos y comer un poco de comida chatarra (si los padres lo permiten). En este último tiempo, las hijas de mi prima han aprovechado mucho esta ventaja, porque esperan ansiosas el fin de semana hasta saber si haremos alguna cosa divertida. Este fin de semana el clima no fue el mejor de todos como para estar al aire libre porque ya se acerca el invierno, por lo que ir al cine fue, la que hasta ese momento creíamos, la mejor opción 😅.

Lo bueno de esta suscripción es que si por alguna razón, algún mes no puede asistir a alguna función, esas entradas se le acumulan para el mes siguiente. Así fue como logró reunir unas cuantas entradas y aprovechamos para ir al cine también con las niñas. Yo hace mucho que no hacía este tipo de salidas: la entrada general del cine sale casi 5 USD por persona, por lo que pagar esa suscripción mensual termina siendo un buen negocio 😃.

My nieces are 3 and 8 years old: the oldest can of course focus her concentration on watching such a long movie, even more so if the graphics are beautiful and it is a story known as The Little Mermaid, but I don't know when the youngest would last still and silent...

Por ahora la cartelera del cine no está tan variada y en mi opinión las únicas dos películas buenas que habían para ver era la de Rápidos y Furiosos y la de La Sirenita. Obviamente veríamos La Sirenita por decisión unánime, aunque cuando investigué un poco y vi que la película duraba más de dos horas empecé a tener mis dudas sobre qué conveniente sería ver esta película en el cine. Mis sobrinas tienen 3 y 8 años: la mayor por supuesto puede enfocar su concentración en mirar una película tan larga, más si los gráficos son hermosos y es una historia conocida como la de La Sirenita, pero la más pequeña no sé cuándo duraría quieta y en silencio...

I think that the 3-year-old will have lasted only about 45 minutes sitting in front of the screen until she starts to move or asks how long until we leave. At first it was easy to entertain her by saying that it was almost there, but after that she became quite restless. On the other hand, I was very concentrated looking at the movie and the beautiful graphics it had. I liked that they recreated the script as is almost 100%, they even respected the original songs. The 3D and visual effects looked great, too flashy for an adult... but I think kids like to see cartoons more than real people. Even other small children in the room were annoying behind our backs. Undoubtedly, a movie of more than two hours and without drawings was too much for them and failed to capture their attention until the end 🫥.

Creo que la de 3 años habrá aguantado solo unos 45 minutos sentada enfrente de la pantalla hasta empezar a moverse o preguntar cuánto faltaba para irnos. Al principio fue fácil entretenerla diciendo que faltaba poco, pero después ya se volvió bastante inquieta. En cambio yo, estaba muy concentrada mirando la película y los gráficos hermosos que tenía. Me gustó que recrearon el guión tal cual casi al 100%, incluso respetaron las canciones originales. Los efectos visuales y en 3D se veían geniales, muy llamativos para un adulto... pero creo que a los niños les gusta ver más dibujos que personas reales. Incluso otros pequeños niños de la sala se notaban fastidiosos a nuestras espaldas. Sin dudas, una película de más de dos horas y sin dibujos fue demasiado para ellos y no logró captar su atención hasta el final🫥.

When the film was almost coming to an end, in the final battle between Úrsula and Tritón, I was at the peak of my enjoyment of the film... until my little niece 'wanted to go to the bathroom'. And I 'what? Right now?' and I had no choice but to leave the room and accompany her to the bathroom. When we were there she confessed to me that she didn't really want to go, but that she wanted to go out because she was getting bored. Well, what she doesn't know is that I was having fun but I can't complain that much either because the main idea was for them to walk 😅.

Cuando la película casi estaba por llegar a su fin, en la batalla final entre Úrsula y Tritón, yo estaba en el pico máximo de mi disfrute del film... hasta que mi pequeña sobrina 'quiso ir al baño'. Y yo 'whattt? ¿Justo ahora?' y no me quedó otra opción que salir de la sala y acompañarla al baño. Cuando estabamos allá me confesó que no tenía tantas ganas de ir, sino que quería salir porque se estaba aburriendo. Bueno, lo que ella no sabe es que yo si me estaba divirtiendo pero tampoco me puedo quejar tanto porque la idea principal era que ellas pasearan 😅.

I think it was too much for her and she is still not able to pay attention for as long as two hours, while for my oldest niece everything was great. When we left the cinema, despite the fact that it was quite cold, we had to go through a playground so that they would clear up a bit and both of them would be equally entertained. After this day, our moral in the path of alternative motherhood is that these girls still prefer the outdoors and not so much confinement, so for a long time, going to the movies will not be an option for a walk 😵‍💫.

Yo creo que por el momento mientras la pequeña siga teniendo 3 años y hasta los 5 diría... llevarla al cine no es una buena opción de paseo o por lo menos no a una película tan larga y sin dibujos. Pienso que fue demasiado para ella y aún no es capaz de prestar atención por tanto como dos horas, mientras que para mi sobrina más grande todo estuvo de maravilla. Cuando salimos del cine, a pesar de que hacía bastante frío, tuvimos que pasar por un parque de juegos para que se despejaran un poco y ambas se entretengan por igual. Después de este dia, nuestra moraleja en el camino de la maternidad alternativa es que estas niñas siguen prefiriendo el aire libre y no tanto el encierro, así que hasta dentro de un buen rato, ir al cine no será una opción de paseo 😵‍💫.
