Daily Blog - New travel destination: on the way to Esquel to spend the autumn season in the south of Argentina. / Nuevo destino de viaje: en camino a Esquel para pasar la temporada de otoño en el sur de Argentina. 😃❤️

The good thing about travelling in a nomadic style is that it's easy to move from one city to another just because of the proximity between them. Having my backpack prepared with clothes for any climate is also something that helps a lot: before leaving home, I took care to prepare my luggage with half winter clothes and half summer clothes. My country Argentina has all climates and I knew that this way it would not be difficult for me to go to any destination I chose. I took advantage of this when the opportunity arose for me to move from El Bolsón in Río Negro to Esquel in Chubut. After having spent the whole summer in the heat, it seemed like a good idea to go in search of a bit of cool a few kilometres further down the map 😊.

Lo bueno que tiene estar de viaje con un estilo nómada es que es fácil moverse de una ciudad a otra solo por la cercanía entre ellas. Tener la mochila preparada con ropa para cualquier clima también es algo que ayuda mucho: antes de salir de mi casa, me ocupé de preparar mi equipaje con la mitad de ropa de invierno y la otra mitad de verano. Mi país Argentina tiene todos los climas y sabía que de esta forma no me iba a ser difícil ir a cualquier destino que eligiera. Aprovechando esto fue que cuando me surgió la oportunidad de mudarme de El Bolsón en Río Negro, hasta Esquel en Chubut. Después de haber pasado todo el verano en el calor, me pareció buena idea ir en busca de un poco de frío unos cuántos kilómetros más abajo en el mapa 😊.

My two and a half month stay in El Bolsón was more than satisfactory. So far, the period from mid-December to the end of February had been the longest volunteering I had ever done. Exchanging work for accommodation in a hostel allowed me to save a lot of money and stay all that time to enjoy the mountains a bit more. I had nothing to complain about, but after more than 70 days in the same place, I started to feel the need to explore somewhere new. Among the volunteers we usually recommend other places to go to do this kind of exchange, and one of them was in the city of Esquel, 200 km away from where I was at the moment 😊.

Mi estadía de dos meses y medio en El Bolsón fue más que satisfactoria. Hasta el momento, el tramo de mitad de diciembre a fin de febrero había representado el voluntariado más largo que había hecho. Intercambiar trabajo por alojamiento en un hostel me permitió ahorrar mucho dinero y quedarme todo ese tiempo para disfrutar un poco más de las montañas. No tenía de que quejarme, pero después de más de 70 días en el mismo lugar, empezó a surgirme la necesidad de explorar un lugar nuevo. Entre los voluntarios solemos recomendarnos otros lugares para ir a hacer este tipo de intercambios, y uno de ellos estaba en la ciudad de Esquel, a 200 km de donde estaba hasta el momento 😊.

Saying goodbye to the hostel where I had been working for so long made me quite nostalgic, because when you move with this dynamic, every place becomes your home. I had very good memories of El Bolsón and all the new friends I made, but I understood that the journey had to continue. To travel to Esquel in the neighbouring province, I only had to take a bus and after a journey of just over three hours, I arrived at my destination. There the owners of the new hostel that would be my new home for at least a month were waiting for me. That moment of meeting the new people I'm going to live with always excites me, and being received with joy makes me feel comfortable and welcome ❤️.

Despedirme del hostel en dónde estuve trabajando tanto tiempo me dió bastante nostalgia, porque cuando te moves con esta dinámica, cada lugar se va transformando en tu hogar. Tuve muy buenos recuerdos de El Bolsón y de todos los amigos nuevos que hice, pero entendía que el viaje tenía que continuar. Para viajar hasta Esquel en la provincia vecina, solo tuve que tomar un micro y después de un viaje de un poco más de tres horas, llegué a mi destino. Ahí me estaban esperando los dueños del nuevo hostel que sería mi nueva casa por al menos un mes. Ese momento de conocer a las nuevas personas con las que voy a convivir siempre me emociona, y que me reciban con alegría me hace sentir cómoda y bienvenida ❤️.

Unlike El Bolsón which is more of a ‘hippie town’, Esquel was already more of a city, although it retains its village spirit with low houses and mountain views. As always when I go somewhere, I never look so much at Inter for things to do, but rather like to check with the locals and get recommendations on where to go for a walk. I literally knew nothing about what there was to do in Esquel, I only went on the recommendation of a friend who also does volunteering who had told me it was worth it and I blindly believed him 🤣.

A diferencia del El Bolsón que es como un 'pueblo hippie', Esquel ya tenía más forma de ciudad, aunque mantiene su espíritu de pueblo con casas bajas y vista a las montañas. Cómo siempre que voy a algún lugar, nunca miro tanto en Inter las cosas que hay para hacer, sino que me gusta informarme con los lugareños y obtener recomendaciones sobre dónde ir a pasear. Literalmente no sabía nada de lo que había para hacer en Esquel, solo fui por recomendación de un amigo que también hace voluntariados que me había dicho que valía la pena y ciegamente le creí 🤣.

After more than two months of working in the same place, I was excited to start March in a new place. When I arrived everything was green and beautiful, but I knew that over the course of the month autumn would arrive to transform the landscape. I was excited to be back in a new place, with new colleagues and other spaces to visit. I like the constant movement, being in various places and mixing with the locals, while getting to know the dynamics of other cities. That's one of the things that motivates me the most to continue in this nomadic stage of my life 💕.

Después de más de dos meses de trabajar en el mismo lugar, estaba emocionada por empezar el mes de Marzo en un lugar nuevo. Cuando llegué todo era verde y lindo, pero sabía que a lo largo del mes el otoño iba a llegar para transformar el paisaje. Me emocionaba volver a estar en un lugar nuevo, con compañeros nuevos y otros espacios para visitar. El constante movimiento me gusta, estar en varios lugares y mezclarme con la gente local, al mismo tiempo que conozco como es la dinámica de otras ciudades. Esa es una de las cosas que más me motiva a seguir en esta etapa nómada de mi vida 💕.
