When it comes to cinema, I have two facets, the spectator who is captivated or angry, or the film enthusiast, and the latter comes out when I write scripts, or I am invited to participate in projects.

Eduardo Mogollón has a production company called Ploptwistfilms, and he invited many people to help him make a short film. Without knowing each other we came to coincide, and I helped him, along with other film nuts, to make his short film entitled Solo una fiesta (2023), starring Diego Deffitt and Daniela Coppola.

This is the story of a young man fed up with the superficiality of a party: selfies, drinks, vice, and vulgar music, but everything changes when he meets a girl with the same sense of humor. So much so, that it won't be an easy task to have a conversation with her.

Mogollón had a clear idea from the beginning, and even though everything went fast (I found out I was going to be the director of photography about three days before the shooting), everything flowed wonderfully. I told him that even though I'm a photographer, I'm not the same for film photography, but I'm always open to new experiences to learn more and more.

The synergy with the team, all neophytes in this, although some more than others, flowed in a way that definitely led me to do it again.

Cuando se trata del cine, tengo dos facetas, la del espectador que se cautiva o enoja, o la del entusiasta a hacer películas, y esta segunda sale a flote cuando escribo guiones, o me invitan a participar en proyectos.

Eduardo Mogollón tiene una productora llamada Ploptwistfilms, e invitó a muchos a que lo ayudaran a realizar un cortometraje escrito y dirigido por él. Sin conocernos llegamos a coincidir, y lo ayudé, junto a otros locos por el cine, a realizar su cortometraje titulada Solo una fiesta (2023), protagonizada por Diego Deffitt y Daniela Coppola.

Esta es la historia de un joven hastiado de la superficialidad de una fiesta: selfies, tragos, vicio, y música vulgar, pero todo cambia cuando conoce a una chica con su mismo sentido del humor. Tanto, que no será una tarea fácil tener una conversación con ella.

Mogollón tuvo la idea clara desde un principio, y a pesar de que todo fue rápido (me enteré que iba a ser el director de fotografía faltando creo que alrededor de tres días para el rodaje), todo fue de maravilla. Le dije que a pesar de ser fotógrafo, mis ánimos por hacer fotografía en cine no es lo mismo, pero siempre estoy abierto a nuevas experiencias para aprender cada vez más.

La sinergia con el equipo, todos neófitos en esto, aunque unos más que otros, fluyó de una manera en la que definitivamente me lleva a volver a hacerlo.
