Well, Halloween season is approaching, which means that many horror-themed movies are starting to come out (a difficult time of year). I must admit that I don’t like this genre; I tend to watch very few horror movies, not because of the fear they provoke, but because they don’t scare me even a little. Nevertheless, I’ve seen both parts of Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, and I must admit that both are bad movies. However, I believe something interesting could emerge if they continue producing these types of films since they are so bad that they might attract a certain audience who, instead of expecting a good movie, enjoys the concept knowing what to expect. I’m not sure if I’m explaining myself well, but what I mean is that with Winnie the Pooh, a whole community could be created, similar to the one that has formed around Sharknado.

The second part of Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey continues with the twisted concept of the first installment: a bloodthirsty and vengeful Winnie. This concept, at first glance, is striking and tends to generate a small shock, as we all know and have grown up with the idea of the kindness and goodness of the honey-loving bear. The second film continues showing childhood characters as murderous monsters with a dirty and neglected appearance. This remains the biggest draw of the film, but also its greatest challenge, as the characters are not explored or developed deeply. Although this second part shows us a bit more of the characters' pasts, there are still many loose ends that need to be tied up for viewers to enjoy more of the blood and violence that the characters inflict.

Having said that, the movie continues delivering what it promises. As I mentioned, there is a lot of violence, blood, and punishment in every second of the film. The characters are bloodthirsty; they seek to punish and inflict as much pain as possible on anyone who crosses their path. It may not be very entertaining, but for those who enjoy this genre of movies, it can be interesting to see how Winnie, Piglet, and other characters terrorize an entire town. The plot is not very elaborate, there are no good dialogues, nor are the characters well developed. The movie does not take itself seriously, and that is the most notable thing about it, which is appreciated since it is known to be a bad movie per se.

Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey remains a slasher, and it must be said that it is much better than the first part, which was much more boring. In this installment, the action is much better achieved. Like a good slasher, the movie creates the necessary cinematic atmosphere to generate terror, using a mix of practical effects and prosthetic makeup to imbue the characters with their devilish nature. However, as in the first movie, one of the weak points is the limited budget, which translates into low visual quality. The visual effects are often not very good, and sometimes the lighting doesn’t look great. Despite everything, the movie manages to create the necessary atmosphere for what it intends to convey.

To conclude, Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 remains that slasher filled with action, blood, and revenge. We see how Winnie continues to pursue Christopher. It remains strange and curious to see these characters turned into bloodthirsty killers. If you’ve already seen the first movie, this is a continuation of the same, perhaps not with the same impact, but much better achieved, I must say. My final rating would be a 4.0, as I said, because it is a movie that already knows it won’t be good.

Bueno, ya se va acercando la época de Halloween, lo que significa que empiezan a salir muchas películas con temática de terror y horror (una parte difícil del año). Debo admitir que no me gusta este tipo de género; suelo ver muy pocas películas de terror, no por el miedo que provocan, sino porque no me causan ni una pizca de miedo. No obstante, he visto las dos partes de Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, y debo admitir que ambas son malas películas. Sin embargo, creo que podría surgir algo interesante si continúan produciendo este tipo de películas, ya que son tan malas que podrían atraer a cierto público que, en lugar de esperar ver una buena película, disfrute del concepto sabiendo lo que pueden esperar. No sé si me explico bien, pero lo que quiero decir es que con Winnie the Pooh podría crearse toda una comunidad, como la que se ha formado alrededor de Sharknado.

La segunda parte de Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey continúa con el retorcido concepto de la primera entrega: un Winnie sanguinario y vengativo. Este concepto, a primera vista, causa impresión y suele generar un pequeño choque, pues todos sabemos y hemos crecido con la idea de la amabilidad y bondad del oso amante de la miel. La segunda película sigue mostrando a los personajes de la infancia como monstruos asesinos con una apariencia sucia y descuidada. Este sigue siendo el mayor atractivo de la película, pero también su mayor desafío, ya que no se explora ni se profundiza en los personajes. Aunque en esta segunda parte nos muestran un poco más del pasado de los personajes, todavía hay muchos cabos sueltos que necesitan ser atados para que los espectadores puedan disfrutar más de la sangre y violencia que provocan los personajes.

Habiendo dicho esto, la película sigue entregando lo que promete. Como mencioné, hay mucha violencia, sangre y castigo en cada segundo de la película. Los personajes son sanguinarios, buscan castigar e infligir el mayor dolor posible a todo aquel que se cruce en su camino. Quizás no sea muy entretenida, pero para todos aquellos a quienes les gusta este género de películas, puede resultar interesante ver cómo Winnie, Piglet y demás personajes aterrorizan a un pueblo entero. La trama no es muy elaborada, no hay buenos diálogos ni personajes bien desarrollados. La película no se toma en serio a sí misma, y eso es lo más notable de ella, lo cual se agradece, pues se sabe que es una película mala de por sí.

Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey sigue siendo un slasher, aunque hay que decir que es mucho mejor que la primera parte, que fue mucho más aburrida. En esta entrega, la acción está mejor lograda. Como buen slasher, la película crea ese ambiente cinematográfico necesario para generar terror. Utiliza una mezcla de efectos prácticos y maquillaje prostético para impregnar a los personajes con su naturaleza diabólica. Sin embargo, al igual que en la primera película, uno de los puntos débiles es el presupuesto limitado, lo que se traduce en una baja calidad visual. Los efectos visuales muchas veces no son buenos y, en ocasiones, la iluminación no está bien lograda. A pesar de todo, la película logra crear el ambiente necesario para transmitir lo que pretende.

Para ir finalizando, Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 sigue siendo ese slasher lleno de acción, sangre y venganza. Vemos cómo Winnie sigue persiguiendo a Christopher. Sigue siendo raro y curioso ver a estos personajes convertidos en asesinos sedientos de sangre. Si ya viste la primera película, esta es una continuación de lo mismo, quizá ya no con el mismo impacto, pero mejor lograda. Mi calificación final sería un 4.0, como dije, porque es una película que ya sabe que no será buena.
