Watching Anime, Movies, and Dramas!

I don't have a TV, and I don't subscribe to any cable services. I often watch YouTube and other videos and check some social media and news. Sometimes, I want to watch a series of films, dramas, or anime as part of my hobbies or for my job.

One of my students is very kind to me all the time. He gave my husband and me a gift certificate for Netflix to enjoy this spring and summer. Wow! That's so kind of him.

When he gave us the gift certificate, he also gave us a beautiful gift card. I love the artwork drawn by Arnold Jacobs, an Onondaga artist. I like the powerful image of the bird on the card. I kept the gift certificate for a while, from early spring until early summer, which is now.

I started watching some Japanese movies. The first one was the "Golden Kamuy" movie. I read some of the manga, but I had never watched the movie version. This story is set in Hokkaido, Japan, my hometown. Some say the drama version is never better than the anime version. However, the movie version was very good to me. I really enjoyed watching it.

Then, I started watching the anime "Demon Slayer." I read the original manga series, but I had never watched the anime version. It was pretty long but very good. Each episode was only around 20 minutes, but I watched them very quickly.

It was a very dramatic story with a lot of sad moments and cool characters. I can't wait for new episodes.

Next, I watched "House of Ninja." I knew about it through the trailer, but it was beyond my expectations. It was so exciting. When I was young, I watched Japanese classical dramas with my grandfather. There are many cool ninja and samurai stories in Japan.

This drama included a lot of sword fighting scenes as well as modern culture. That's why it was so realistic. I can't wait for the next episode.

I don't think I will subscribe to Netflix after finishing the gift certificate, but I might buy a new card if I want to watch it again. Anyway, I appreciate having this opportunity.

アニメ、映画とドラマを観る！

我が家にはテレビがないですし、ケーブルテレビなども契約していません。普段はYouTubeを観たり、ときどきソーシャルメディアやニュースをチェックしたりします。ときおり趣味や仕事の一環で、映画やドラマ、アニメを観たいと思うことがあります。

生徒さんの中に、いつもよくしてくださる方がいます。私と主人にNetflixのギフトカードをプレゼントしてくださいました。なんてありがたいことでしょうか。

Netflixのギフトカードと一緒に素敵なカードもくださいました。オノンダガ族のアーティストであるアーノルド・ジェイコブズ氏の素敵なイラストがありました。力強い鳥のアートがとても好きです。春にいただいたこのギフトカードを夏の初旬までとっておきました。

まずは邦画から観ようと思いました。「ゴールデンカムイ」をいちばん初めに観ました。漫画はいくつか読んだことがあるのですが、映画は観たことがありませんでした。物語の舞台は北海道です。自分の故郷ですのでたいへん楽しく観ました。実写がアニメバージョンを超えることはないとよくいいますが、ゴールデンカムイの実写版の映画はかなりよかったように思います。

そして、「鬼滅の刃」を観始めました。漫画は読んだことがあるのですが、アニメを観たのは初めてです。どのエピソードも約２０分ほどですが、かなり長いエピソードでした。一気に観てしまいました。

とても悲しいシーンがありドラマチックなストーリーですが、かっこいいキャラクターが盛り上げてくれました。新しいエピソードが待ちきれません。

次に、「忍びの家」を観ました。これはトレイラーを観たことがあるので存在は知っていましたが、期待を上回る面白さで興奮しました。幼い頃、よく祖父といっしょに時代劇を観ました。日本にはたくさんかっこいい忍者や侍の時代劇ドラマがあります。

この忍びの家はもちろん刀の乱闘シーンがたくさん盛り込まれていますが、設定の年代が現代文化で、そこがリアルでよかったです。次のエピソードが待ちきれません。

今あるNetflixの課金がなくなったら定期的に加入するかどうかは考えていませんが、また観たくなったらカードを購入するかもしれません。とてもありがたい機会をいただきました。
