Hace unos días un primo me preguntó si ya había visto Joker y le dije que sí, que no me había gustado. A eso, el respondió: claro, ¿a quién le va a gustar un musical? Y la verdad es que a mí me encantan los musicales, pero no quería meterme en ese terreno en ese momento; de hecho, no quisiera meterme en ese terreno si es con personas que en serio no acepten que los musicales son buenos. Sin embargo, hay algunas personas que, por inspiración, curiosidad o simple aburrimiento, quieren ver musicales a ver qué tal, y bueno, para esas personas, si es que alguna está aquí leyendo, les voy a recomendar 3 musicales que me han gustado mucho:

A few days ago a cousin asked me if I had seen Joker and I said yes, I didn't like it. To that, he replied: of course, who's going to like a musical? And the truth is that I love musicals, but I didn't want to get into that area at that moment; in fact, I wouldn't want to get into that area if it's with people who seriously don't accept that musicals are good. However, there are some people who, out of inspiration, curiosity or simple boredom, want to see musicals to see what they are like, and well, for those people, if any of them are reading this, I am going to recommend 3 musicals that I really liked:
Este es tu momento
Esta fue en su tiempo una de mis películas confort, y es que es sinceramente hermosa, además de que es sobre un chico que quiere hacer una banda de rock con la ayuda de sus amigos y su hermano mayor. La idea de un chico que es rockero gracias a su hermano mayor es algo que, casi como una regla, todos los hermanos menores hemos tenido, y justo por eso la sentí tan personal. Pero además, es una película con unos números musicales muy geniales y algunos pueden no contarla como un musical, pero gran parte de la película es debido a sus canciones, así que para empezar en el género y para pasar el rato, esta película es simplemente perfecta.
Sing Street
This was one of my comfort films at the time, and it's honestly beautiful, plus it's about a kid who wants to make a rock band with the help of his friends and his older brother. The idea of a kid who is a rocker thanks to his older brother is something that, almost as a rule, all of us younger siblings have had, and that's exactly why it felt so personal. But also, it's a movie with some really cool musical numbers and some may not count it as a musical, but a big part of the movie is because of its songs, so to get started in the genre and to pass the time, this movie is just perfect.
El Show de Terror de Rocky.
Ok, creo que esta es la tercera vez que pongo a esta película en alguna lista y me disculpo, primero por hacerlo tan seguido, y segundo, porque seguirá pasando. Pero me tienen que entender, esta película es un hito para la cultura LGBTI, para los musicales y para el Halloween, así que hay mucha tela por donde cortar. Además, Tim Curry hace el papel de su vida (para mí, más importante que el de Pennywise en It), demostrando su rango bocal de una forma tan ingeniosa como divertida, en una película que es una completa locura de principio a fin, siendo también una película perfecta para ver con amigos en esta época, o, si es posible, en algún festival. Si no saben de qué va The rocky horror picture show, es muy difícil de explicar, pero su base es sobre una pareja de enamorados que llega a una casa dónde un grupo extraño está haciendo unos experimentos, con una vibra muy a lo scooby doo de los 70s, esta película es diversión pura.

Ok, I think this is the second time I put this movie on a list and I apologize, first for doing it so often, and second, because it will keep happening. But you have to understand me, this movie is a milestone for LGBTI culture, for musicals and for Halloween, so there's a lot of ground to cover. Plus, Tim Curry plays the role of his life (for me, more important than Pennywise in It), demonstrating his vocal range in a way that is as witty as it is funny, in a movie that is complete madness from beginning to end, being also a perfect movie to watch with friends this time of year, or, if possible, at some festival. If you don't know what The rocky horror picture show is about, it's very hard to explain, but its base is about a couple in love that arrives to a house where a strange group is doing some experiments, with a very 70s scooby doo vibe, this movie is pure fun.
Amor Sin Barreras
La penúltima película de Steven Spielberg y es un musical que recrea a la perfección la época dorada de Hollywood. Eso ya es simplemente una perfecta razón para ver la película ya mismo, seas o no seas fanático de los musicales. Y es que es increíble cómo una película puede verse tan hermosa y tan estilizada, recreando una temática atemporal de forma magnifica. Sinceramente, la película es larga y, al ser un remake de un musical de la vieja Hollywood, puede que no te guste, pero es la película más “musical” que podría recomendar para las personas que quieren empezar a ver este estilo de películas.
West Side Story
Steven Spielberg's penultimate film and it's a musical that perfectly recreates the golden age of Hollywood. That alone is a perfect reason to see the movie right now, whether you are a fan of musicals or not. And it's amazing how a movie can look so beautiful and so stylish, recreating a timeless theme in a magnificent way. Honestly, the movie is long and, being a remake of an old Hollywood musical, you may not like it, but it is the most “musical” movie I could recommend for people who want to start watching this style of movie.

Hmm, I haven't always been a fan of musicals, I usually prefer the animated ones. But that's not to say I can't appreciate a good musical. The west side story intrigues me, I'll give it a look.
Please, if you see it, tell me how it is. It may be a little long but it is undeniable that technically it is almost perfect.
