El tema de esta semana es Nosferatu. Si usas mucho las redes sociales es posible que ya hayas visto varias publicaciones sobre Nosferatu, dónde el director habla de su inspiración para hacer la película, el gran trabajo que han tenido los actores para lograr cada interpretación, la curiosa relación de Nosferatu con Bob Esponja o simplemente algunos memes. Y bueno, Nosferatu es una gran película, eso no lo voy a negar, de hecho me encantó, pero me pareció muy interesante que Robert Eggers en la mayoría de sus entrevistas menciona que ya la gente no le tiene miedo a los vampiros porque dejaron de ser una criatura horrible y ahora empezaron a ser “sexys”. No puedo negarlo, pero en mi mente pensaba, ¿Cuáles son los vampiros más sexys del cine? Bueno, aquí un top con mi opinión:

This week's theme is Nosferatu. And well, Nosferatu is a great movie, I'm not going to deny it, in fact I loved it, but I found it very interesting that Robert Eggers in most of his interviews mentions that people are no longer afraid of vampires because they stopped being a horrible creature and now they started to be "sexy." I can't deny it, but in my mind I was thinking, who are the sexiest vampires in cinema? Well, here is a top with my opinion:

recuerdo que mi hermano tenía varios libros de Anne Rice de su saga de vampiros, pero siempre los vi tan grandes y pesados que nunca quise leer alguno; además de eso, por la forma en la que fui criado, los libros de ese estilo en mi mente traían un mal augurio. Ya mayor me di cuenta de que había una película que estaba basada en uno de esos libros, entrevista con el vampiro, y que tenía como protagonistas a Tom Cruise y a Brad Pitt, así que era para mí imposible no verla. Si alguien ya ha visto la película (o leído los libros) sabrá por mano propia que los vampiros de esta saga son completamente homo eróticos y, la verdad, sexys, eso hay que admitirlo.

Interview with the vampire

I remember that my brother had several books by Anne Rice from her vampire saga, but I always saw them as so big and heavy that I never wanted to read any of them; besides that, because of the way I was raised, books of that style in my mind brought a bad omen. When I was older I realized that there was a movie that was based on one of those books, Interview with the Vampire, and it starred Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt, so it was impossible for me not to see it. If you've seen the movie (or read the books) you'll know first hand that the vampires in this saga are completely homo erotic and, truth be told, sexy, you have to admit that.

más que sexys (que si son), esta película está tan llena de amor y sentimiento que tengo que ponerla en esta lista. A algunas personas les pueden gustar mucho los juegos de rol y todo tipo de travesuras que se pueden hacer en la cama, pero el verdadero romanticismo es mucho más hermoso, y por lo mismo, mucho más sexy que cualquier otra cosa. ¿Y cómo no va a ser hermosa una pareja de vampiros que se ha amado por toda la eternidad? La verdad, sé que la película no es para todo el mundo y que me estoy arriesgando un poco al mencionarla aquí, pero como es mi top y mis recomendaciones, no puedo no mencionarla porque recuerdo que cuando la vi me sorprendió y me encantó. Además, los vampiros son Tilda Swinton y Tom Hiddleston, ya eso es suficiente para decir que son vampiros sexys.

Only lovers left alive

More than sexy (which they are), this movie is so full of love and feeling that I have to put it on this list. Some people may really like role playing and all kinds of shenanigans that can be done in bed, but true romance is much more beautiful, and by the same token, much sexier than anything else. And how could a vampire couple who have loved each other for eternity not be beautiful? Truth be told, I know the movie is not for everyone and I'm going out on a bit of a limb by mentioning it here, but since it's my top and my recommendations, I can't not mention it because I remember when I saw it I was surprised and loved it. Besides, the vampires are Tilda Swinton and Tom Hiddleston, that's already enough to say that they are sexy vampires.

aquí hago un poco de trampa, por lo que antes de hablar de esta película quiero recomendar una última: Dracula de Coppola. Bien, ya habiendo recomendado tres películas de vampiros sexys, quien no haya visto bones and all quiero hacer la aclaratoria de que no son vampiros, sino caníbales, pero son caníbales que salen de noche y se siente como si fueran unos vampiros del siglo veintiuno, por lo que para mí cuentan en mi mente. ¿Y por qué meterlos? Porque además la película es dirigida por Luca Guadagnino, y todos sabemos que Luca es un genio para la sensualidad.

Bones and all

I'm cheating a bit here, so before talking about this movie I want to recommend one last one: Dracula by Coppola. Well, having already recommended three sexy vampire movies, who has not seen bones and all I want to make the clarification that they are not vampires, but cannibals, but they are cannibals who come out at night and it feels like they are vampires of the twenty-first century, so for me they count in my mind. And why put them in? Because also the film is directed by Luca Guadagnino, and we all know Luca is a genius for sensuality.
