¡Hola Hola Comunidad! ¿Pueden creer que yo llevo años perdiendo la oportunidad de ver ésta increíble película? La verdad es que desde hace muchísimo tiempo había querido verla, sobre todo porque sabía a groso modo el contexto en el que se desarrolla la historia, y además hubo un tiempo en que me salían los clips de la película en tik tok, sin embargo por alguna razón que aún no entiendo no fue hasta ahora que me decidí a buscarla y verla, y vaya tiempo bien invertido porque ésta historia da mucho con lo que reflexionar y tiene demasiada tela que cortar 🤭🤭, así que sin mas nada que decir aquí les dejo mi opinión sobre Historias Cruzadas 🎬.

The truth is that I had wanted to see it for a long time, especially because I knew the context of the story, and there was a time when I would see clips of the film on tiki tok, However, for some reason that I still don't understand, it wasn't until now that I decided to look for it and watch it, and what a time well invested because this story gives a lot to think about and has too much to cut 🤭🤭, so without more to say here I leave you my opinion about The Help 🎬.

La película está basada en el libro homónimo de Kathryn Stockett, y relata la historia de la joven Skeeter, una chica sureña de los años 60 quien luego de culminar sus estudios universitarios y regresar a su hogar, decide que quiere ser escritora, sin embargo el puesto de trabajo que le ofrecen en el periódico local es para responder cartas en la sección de hogar, área en la que ella realmente no tiene nada de experiencia, es por eso que pide ayuda a la sirvienta de una de sus amigas. Aibileen es una mujer afroamericana que ha pasado toda su vida al servicio de las familias blancas adineradas, y quien tristemente ha perdido a su hijo, inicialmente ella ayuda a Skeeter a cumplir con su labor en el periódico local, pero cuando a la joven escritora se le ocurre la idea de contar las historias de las amas de llaves afroamericanas, Aibileen se convierte en la pieza fundamental para llevar a cabo esa labor, es así como entre ambas logran reunir a un grupo de mujeres para contar como han sido sus vivencias cuidando y trabajando para las familias blancas de Jackson Mississippi.
The film is based on the book of the same name by Kathryn Stockett, and tells the story of young Skeeter, a Southern girl in the 1960s who, after finishing college and returning home, decides she wants to be a writer, but the job she is offered at the local newspaper is to answer letters in the household section, an area in which she really has no experience, so she asks the maid of one of her friends for help. De verdad que es una obra maestra, siento que relata muy bien cómo era la vivencia de las personas afroamericanas en ese momento histórico, la hipocresía de ciertas personas te hace ver lo retorcido que puede ser el mundo a veces, hay una escena específica de un baile benéfico que me hizo no solo decirle a toda esa gente que eran unos cara e’ tabla, sino que también me hizo reflexionar acerca de la verdadera cara de los “actos benéficos” en el mundo, sí de esas campañas gigantescas que promueven la colaboración por un bien mayor, y que buscan beneficiar a pueblos o grupos en situaciones críticas. ¿Cuánto de eso es real y cuánto es solo una fachada para ocultar sus propios actos repudiables? Porque lo mismo te muestra la película, una baile benéfico para las comunidades africanas promovido por las mismas familias blancas que promulgaban leyes de saneamiento del hogar, en donde obligaban a sus amas de llaves afroamericanas a usar micro baños alejados de la casa simplemente para no correr el riesgo de “contagiarte de las enfermedades propias de su raza”, ay es que lo digo y hasta me da rabia 😒😒.
What can I say about this film? It really is a masterpiece, I feel that it tells very well how the African American people lived in that historical moment, the hypocrisy of certain people makes you see how twisted the world can be sometimes, there is a specific scene of a charity ball that made me not only tell all those people that they were a bunch of "tabla faces", but it also made me think about the true face of "charity events" in the world, but it also made me reflect on the true face of "charity events" in the world, yes those gigantic campaigns that promote collaboration for the greater good, and that seek to benefit people or groups in critical situations. How much of that is real and how much is just a façade to hide their own reprehensible acts? SourcePero antes de meternos en territorio pantanoso 🤣, hablemos primero de los personajes, porque aunque la premisa inicial dice que la película se centra en Skeeter la verdad es que a mi parecer su foco principal es realmente Aibileen, de hecho la película empieza y acaba con ella y es quién tiene más peso durante toda la trama, en ese sentido Skeeter funciona más como catalizador o guía de la historia, realmente ella cumple su rol de escritora y nos muestra las diferentes historias que se van presentando. La verdad es que ambos son personajes muy bien construidos, y en cierto modo son la cara de una misma moneda, por un lado Skeeter representa a las mujeres blancas, pero específicamente es el reflejo de las niñas blancas que fueron criadas casi en su totalidad por las mujeres afroamericanas que trabajaban en sus casa, de hecho la película tuvo dos momentos en los que me hicieron llorar y uno de ellos lo protagoniza justamente Skeeter, y es cuando se entera de la razón (injustificada) por la cual en su casa han despedido a quien fue su nana (que obviamente era el ama de llaves) y no sólo me hizo llorar por ésta razón, sino porque ésta persona ya de avanzada edad muere posteriormente a su despido y Skeeter nunca se pudo despedir de ella, dándonos así la versión de las niñas que genuinamente le tomaron cariño a las mujeres que realmente representaron sus figuras maternas, y que fueron alejadas de ellas por su familias de manera abrupta e injusta.

The truth is that both are very well constructed characters, and in a way they are the face of the same coin, on the one hand Skeeter represents white women, but specifically she is the reflection of the white girls who were raised almost entirely by African American women who worked in their homes, in fact the film had two moments that made me cry and one of them was precisely Skeeter, and it is when she learns the (unjustified) reason why her nanny (who was obviously the housekeeper) has been fired from her home, and not only did it make me cry for this reason, but also because this elderly person dies after her dismissal and Skeeter was never able to say goodbye to her, thus giving us the version of the girls who genuinely became fond of the women who really represented their mother figures, and who were abruptly and unjustly taken away from them by their families.

SourceY por otra parte tenemos la cara que representa Aibileen, el rol de la ama de llaves que ha criado una buena cantidad de niños blancos y que pasaba más tiempo con ellos que con su propio hijo, y quien desafortunadamente le tocó perderlo a causa básicamente de la negligencia de los patrones blancos, inadecuadas condiciones laborales y un número más de aspectos que llevaron a ese trágico desenlace. Para el momento en que se desarrolla la película, ella está criando a quien será la última niña, y es a través de ésta relación como vemos la crianza negligente que llevaban las familias blancas en ese momento, el cariño que podrían tomarle éstas mujeres afroamericanas a estos niños y niñas, y obviamente la abrupta e injusta separación. El personaje de Aibileen es bastante interesante, porque al inicio la vemos llena de temores y ya hacía el final nos presentan a una mujer más empoderada (dentro de sus limitaciones claramente), y que además contó con el respaldo de su comunidad, una mujer que incluso frente a la más grande adversidad, que fue perder a su hijo, pudo encontrar nuevamente un horizonte y una postura personal por la cual luchar.

De ésta forma tenemos a Minny, otra mujer afroamericana que trabaja como ama de llaves, y que luego de una gran escena de molestia decide que ella también quiere contar su historia 🤣, éste personaje es bastante particular porque aparte de todo este contexto ya precario, también tiene que vivir bajo la violencia doméstica, y aunque no nos muestran mucho de ésto sí me pareció un dato relevante para mencionar, porque la mayoría de éstas mujeres estaban de una u otra forma condenadas a la posibilidad de vivir bajo éstas condiciones, al fin y al cabo estaban en situaciones económicas precarias, pese a las largas horas laborales que cumplían, y aunque a Minny la mostraban como un personaje rudo pues la realidad era otra. Además Minny conecta con los otros dos personajes que quiero mencionar.

SourceLa primera es Celia, una mujer sumamente carismática y generosa, que contrata a Minny básicamente porque la casa se le está cayendo encima 🤣, ella es el reflejo de la discriminación por clase social, pues dígamos que su matrimonio no fue algo que estaba planeado y por ende nos da a entender que ella no pertenecía a la misma clase social de su esposo y por ende de las mujeres del lugar, así que ellas lo único que hacen es ignorarla de manera bastante incómoda. Obviamente ella no tiene ni idea de como es todo este extraño asunto entre la dueña de la casa y su ama de llaves, para ella no existe esa división racial que los demás dejan tan claro, así que su trato hacía Minny es el más cordial y amistoso, con Celia viví la segunda (o más bien la primera) escena que me hizo llorar, con tres arbustos de flores plantados, nos muestran los tres abortos que ha tenido en el poco tiempo que lleva casada 😔, es una escena bastante emotiva porque nos hace entender cual era su necesidad de al menos tener una amiga en ese lugar, y al menos a mí eso me hizo darme cuenta lo mucho que le dolía ser rechazada por el resto de las mujeres, pero también ésto le dió mas peso a la amistad que generó con Minny 💕. Por último tenemos a Hilly, la antigua empleadora de Minny, la viva imágen de la supremacía blanca, quien promueve la ley de la que hablé más arriba y en definitiva el personaje que más odié en la película 😒😒, no solo era abusiva con sus amas de llaves (por ideales racistas), sino que era abusiva con sus “amigas”, con Celia y hasta con su propia mamá 😒, en fin se ganó mi odio y no hay mas nada que decir, pero aplausos a la actriz porque hizo un trabajo excelente 🤣.

She obviously has no idea what this whole strange business between the owner of the house and her housekeeper is like, for her there is no such racial division that the others make so clear, so her treatment of Minny is the most cordial and friendly, with Celia I experienced the second (or rather the first) scene that made me cry, with three planted flower bushes, they show us the three miscarriages she has had in the short time she has been married 😔, it is a very emotional scene because it makes us understand what was her need to at least have a friend in that place, and at least for me it made me realise how much it hurt her to be rejected by the rest of the women, but also this gave more weight to the friendship she generated with Minny 💕. Finally we have Hilly, Minny's former employer, the living image of white supremacy, who promotes the law I talked about above and ultimately the character I hated the most in the film 😒😒, she was not only abusive with her housekeepers (because of racist ideals), but she was abusive with her "friends", with Celia and even with her own mother 😒, in short she earned my hatred and there is nothing more to say, but applause to the actress because she did an excellent job 🤣.

Esta película cuando la vi me impacto muchísimo, la verdad ver todo lo que se sufrió solo por tener un color de piel distinto. No puedo imaginar lo duro que fue, siento que en parte un poco de justicia al final de la película pero era el inicio de una lucha por sus derechos.

A mí también me pareció un poco injusto el final, pero después entendí que debía suceder así, al fin y al cabo ésta no era una película de final feliz y así debía ser el inicio por su lucha, sino todo iba a continuar de la forma en que ya estaba pasando. Buena reseña sobre un filme que aborda temáticas que no están todavía fuera de nuestra realidad hoy aunque pueda cambiar algo el contexto. Que bueno que nos muestre esa realidad, sin tapujos. Habrá que sacar tiempo para verlo.
De verdad que te la recomiendo, muchas cosas te hacen reflexionar y te permite ver como hasta no hace mucho esa aún era la realidad que nos rodeaba ✨
