Finalmente éste momento llegó, había querido dar algún tiempo para poder traerles mi opinión acerca de ésta increíble película, sé que internet ya está abarrotado de opiniones y reacciones a ésta historia, pero honestamente yo necesito dar la mía aunque se parezca a algunas otras, pero es que de verdad ésta historia me tocó tan profundamente y ha representado tanto para mí, que evidentemente debo dar mi punto de vista al respecto, y es por esa razón que el día hoy hablaremos acerca de Barbie 💕.
Finally this moment arrived, I had wanted to give some time to bring you my opinion about this amazing movie, I know the internet is already full of opinions and reactions to this story, but honestly I need to give you mine even if it looks like some others, but this story really touched me so deeply and has represented so much to me, that obviously I must give my point of view about it, and that's why today we will talk about Barbie 💕.
¿De qué trata Barbie?, Pues aunque no crean para mí ésta pregunta es un poco difícil pues la película tiene mucha información y creo que al final cuesta un poco dar con una sinopsis concreta, sin embargo pensándolo detenidamente puedo decir que en líneas generales se trata del viaje de Barbie al Mundo Real, todas las Barbies viven en Barbieland al igual que los Ken's, Midge y Allan, un día cosas extrañas le comienzan a ocurrir a la Barbie protagonista de la historia, estos sucesos sólo pueden ser resueltos si ella viaja al Mundo Real y busca a la niña que juega con ella, porque en Barbieland todos ellos son los juguetes de alguien en el Mundo Real, es allí donde comienza la aventura de Barbie y Ken (quien se cuela a última hora 🤣).
What is Barbie about? Well, believe it or not, for me this question is a bit difficult because the film has a lot of information and I think that in the end it is a bit difficult to give a concrete synopsis, however, thinking about it carefully I can say that in general terms it is about Barbie's trip to the Real World, all the Barbies live in Barbieland as well as the Ken's, Midge and Allan, one day strange things start to happen to the Barbie protagonist of the story, these events can only be solved if she travels to the Real World and looks for the girl who plays with her, because in Barbieland they are all someone's toys in the Real World, that's where the adventure of Barbie and Ken (who sneaks in at the last minute 🤣) begins.
A partir de aquí diré muchos spoilers que considero que son importantes y que además van acompañados de toda mi emoción, así que están advertidos 🤣🤣. Realmente la película trata acerca del viaje de Barbie al Mundo Real, pero considero que también ejemplifica el viaje que toda mujer hace desde que es una niña hasta que me toca enfrentarse a la realidad del nuestro mundo, un mundo en el cual como dice Gloria es absolutamente imposible ser mujer. Barbie es una película feminista, no por nada está dirigida por Greta Gerwig, alguien a quien se conoce por sus películas altamente feministas, aquí se hace un crítica absoluta al patriarcado, a los roles de género y a la manera moderna en como el machismo sigue instaurado, pero desde mi punto de vista (que espero no sea controversial) también es una crítica al feminismo radical, ese que intenta de alguna forma minimizar el papel del hombre solo por ser hombre, y es que el mensaje es bastante claro, al final solo son Barbie y Ken de la misma manera en que todos nosotros solo somos hombres y mujeres intentando comprender quiénes somos.
From here on I will say a lot of spoilers that I consider to be important and that are also accompanied by all my excitement, so be warned 🤣🤣. The film is really about Barbie's journey into the Real World, but I think it also exemplifies the journey that every woman makes from the time she is a little girl until she has to face the reality of our world, a world in which, as Gloria says, it is absolutely impossible to be a woman. Barbie is a feminist film, not for nothing is it directed by Greta Gerwig, someone who is known for her highly feminist films, here is an absolute critique of patriarchy, gender roles and the modern way in which machismo is still in place, But from my point of view (which I hope is not controversial) it is also a critique of radical feminism, the one that tries to somehow minimize the role of men just for being men, and the message is quite clear, in the end they are just Barbie and Ken in the same way that we are all just men and women trying to understand who we are.
La película a mí personalmente me hizo llorar, hay exactamente tres puntos de la historia en donde logré conectar de una forma tan impresionante que hizo que se me salieran las lágrimas, el primero de ellos se presentó justamente cuando Barbie llega al Mundo Real, en ese preciso momento en el que dice que se siente rara, insegura y observada por todos, y es en ésta parte en la que yo me dí cuenta que la película mostraría el viaje de pasar de ser niña a mujer. El inicio de la película es la descripción de la niñez, esa etapa en donde las responsabilidades son mínimas y todos los días están cargados de juegos y diversión (al menos para aquellas a quienes no les tocó una infancia difícil), época en la que pensar en la muerte es algo bastante raro y extraño. La infancia para las niñas se ve interrumpida por un acontecimiento, la aparición del pie plano o lo que al menos yo interprete como la llegada de la menstruación, un momento que te hace sentir extraña y te hace vivir una serie de cambios que no entiendes y que te conducen a tu viaje al Mundo Real. Barbie se sintió incómoda desde el primer momento en que llegó, se sintió vulnerable y acosada, y me pregunto yo, ¿A qué edad nosotras nos empezamos a sentir así? ¿Acaso no nos sentíamos como Barbie?, cuando llegamos a la adolescencia es cuando comienzan nuestras crisis, nos echamos a llorar sin entender nada de lo que está pasando y cuando finalmente sentimos que tenemos un poco de control sobre nuestra vida, es cuando nos damos cuenta que ser mujer es excesivamente agotador y muchas veces pensamos en tirar la toalla, y es allí donde las palabras de Gloria en la película te golpean como una cachetada de realidad y en mi caso me hizo llorar.
The film made me personally cry, there are exactly three points in the story where I managed to connect in such an impressive way that made me cry, the first of them was when Barbie arrives in the Real World, in that precise moment when she says that she feels strange, insecure and observed by everyone, and it is in this part where I realised that the film would show the journey of going from being a girl to a woman. The beginning of the film is a description of childhood, a time when responsibilities are minimal and every day is full of fun and games (at least for those who didn't have a difficult childhood), a time when thinking about death is quite rare and strange. Childhood for girls is interrupted by an event, the appearance of flat feet or what I interpreted as the arrival of menstruation, a moment that makes you feel strange and makes you experience a series of changes that you don't understand and that lead you to your journey to the Real World. Barbie felt uncomfortable from the first moment she arrived, she felt vulnerable and bullied, and I ask myself, at what age did we start to feel like that, didn't we feel like Barbie? When we reach adolescence is when our crises begin, we start to cry without understanding anything that is happening and when we finally feel that we have a bit of control over our lives, is when we realise that being a woman is excessively exhausting and many times we think about throwing in the towel, and that is where Gloria's words in the film hit you like a slap in the face of reality and in my case it made me cry.
Si bien la historia es altamente feminista, también es interesante ver el lado de Ken, algunos dicen que él fue el antagonista de la historia, pero yo considero que no fue así, porque de ser así entonces muchos seríamos los antagonistas de un sin número de historias no contadas,¿y por qué digo esto?, porque Ken fue el personaje que demostró qué es lo que ocurre cuando te hacen a un lado y solo asumen que estarás ahí solo porque así debe ser, Barbie asumió siempre que Ken estaría ahí para ella solo porque era Ken, ni siquiera sabía si tenía casa o qué era lo que hacía, y les pregunto ¿cuántos no han estado en esa situación?, y ¿cuántos no se han revelado al caer en cuenta del valor que pueden tener como persona?, el personaje de Ken es una clara demostración de ello y además es una clara demostración de la importancia que tiene la validación de los hombres, sobre todo emocional porque considero que es algo de lo que realmente poco se habla y tiene tanto peso, la película tiene una escena completa en donde Ken se viene en llanto y el trabajo que hace Barbie escuchándolo y validandolo es tan valioso que eso hace de la es escena algo sumamente memorable.
While the story is highly feminist, it is also interesting to see Ken's side, some say he was the antagonist of the story, but I believe he was not, because if he was then many of us would be the antagonist of countless untold stories, and why do I say that? because Ken was the character that showed what happens when you are pushed aside and they just assume that you will be there just because that's the way it should be, Barbie always assumed that Ken would be there for her just because he was Ken, she didn't even know if he had a home or what he did, and I ask you how many people have not been in that situation, Ken's character is a clear demonstration of this and it is also a clear demonstration of the importance of the validation of men, especially emotionally because I think it is something that is really little talked about and has so much weight, the film has a whole scene where Ken comes to tears and the work that Barbie does listening to him and validating him is so valuable that it makes the scene something extremely memorable.
Un apartado importante para mí que tiene ésta historia más allá del mensaje que logra transmitir, es la escenografía, yo personalmente soy una persona que se da cuenta cuando hay pantalla verde y cuando pasa en una película que yo me doy cuenta del efecto y de la pantalla, yo me desconecto totalmente de la historia, Barbie está hecha de la forma antigua con escenarios reales construidos y pintados para su grabación, y a mí ese me parece un detalle increíble, todo se ve falso y de plástico porque esa siempre fue la intención y considero que si lo hubiesen hecho con CGI no habrían podido hacer que se viera de esa forma. Hay muchos detalles que estuvieron excesivamente bien pensados, hay mucho simbolismo y hay escenas magníficas, pero aún así hay cosas que se descuidaron un poco, hay un número un tanto exagerado de elenco que fue malgastado en el sentido de que solo aparecen por una pequeña fracción de tiempo, personajes que creo que ni siquiera tiene un diálogo considerablemente extenso o al menos relevante, y para mí eso fue un desperdicio 🤷🏻♀️. El elemento de los ejecutivos de Mattel también lo sentí un poquito innecesario y hasta repetitivo y redundante, hay un mensaje detrás de ellos, pero aún así sentí que solo estorbaban 🤷🏻♀️.
An important section for me that this story has beyond the message it manages to convey, is the scenery, I personally am a person who notices when there is a green screen and when it happens in a film that I notice the effect and the screen, I am totally disconnected from the story, Barbie is done the old fashioned way with real sets built and painted for filming, and to me that seems like an unbelievable detail, everything looks fake and plastic because that was always the intention and I feel that if they had done it with CGI they couldn't have made it look that way. There are a lot of details that were overly well thought out, there's a lot of symbolism and there are some great scenes, but still there are things that were a little bit neglected, there's a somewhat exaggerated number of cast that were wasted in the sense that they only appear for a small fraction of time, characters that I don't think even have considerably extended or at least relevant dialogue, and to me that was a waste 🤷🏻♀️. The Mattel executives element also felt a little unnecessary and even repetitive and redundant, there is a message behind them, but I still felt they just got in the way 🤷🏻♀️.
La Barbie protagonista de ésta historia es la Barbie estereotípica, esa que viene a tu mente cuando piensas en Barbie, no tiene profesión porque es la imágen clásica de la muñeca, es básicamente el diseño original de todo el constructo que es Barbie, y por ende es la creación original de Ruth Hadler, representa a Bárbara Hadler la hija de Ruth, y menciono esto que es un gran spoiler, porque más allá del mensaje feminista o de la crítica que es hacia la sociedad, ésta película es una historia que da relevancia al vínculo maternal, creo que si eres alguien que al menos conoce quien dirige ésta película te imaginas que tendrá una línea feminista, aparte que Barbie es un concepto feminista hasta cierto punto, pero creo que jamás imaginarias que el epicentro de toda ésta historia es la importancia y el reconocimiento que se le da a las madres, hay toda una escena (ya hacía el final) en donde sinceramente es casi imposible no llorar y la sensación que transmite es esa que solo puedes llegar a sentir con tu mamá, es realmente hermosa y es ese elemento el que me hizo amar ésta historia 💕.
The Barbie protagonist of this story is the stereotypical Barbie, the one that comes to your mind when you think of Barbie, she has no profession because she is the classic image of the doll, she is basically the original design of the whole construct that is Barbie, and therefore she is the original creation of Ruth Hadler, she represents Barbara Hadler Ruth's daughter, and I mention this is a big spoiler, because beyond the feminist message or the criticism that is towards society, this film is a story that gives relevance to the maternal bond, I think if you are someone who at least knows who directs this film you imagine that it will have a feminist line, besides Barbie is a feminist concept to some extent, but I think you would never imagine that the epicenter of this whole story is the importance and recognition given to mothers, there is a whole scene (towards the end) where it is honestly almost impossible not to cry and the feeling that transmits is that you can only get to feel with your mum, is really beautiful and it is that element that made me love this story 💕.

Ame la pelicula, solo difiero en que Ken para mi si es el villano porque le robo la casa a barbie y eso me very molesto 😠. Lo bueno que al final encontro quien era, él era Ken. Saludos
