Hello series and movies community! Today I bring you a review of the last series I watched, it's about "The Silence", a Netflix production that came out recently, and that since I saw the trailer I was eager to watch it, not only because the protagonist is Aaron Piper, an actor I really like, but also because the plot looked promising, a bit of action linked with mystery, and really, I must confess in the first instance that it did not exceed my expectations.
Primero les voy a contar de qué trata la serie, habla de Sergio, un joven que, al parecer, mató a sus padres arrojándolos del balcón del apartamento donde vivían, y digo “al parecer”, porque desde que hizo eso, nunca habló al respecto y, obviamente lo encarcelaron porque estaba allí, pero nunca dio declaraciones ni emitió comentario alguno. Ahora, él sale de la correccional y una psicóloga llamada Ana, le instala cámaras en su apartamento para tenerlo vigilado y junto a una chica llamada Martha, buscarán sacarle la verdad de lo que ocurrió esa noche y por qué lo hizo, si fue que lo hizo, prácticamente esos son los tres personajes principales.
First I am going to tell you what the series is about, it talks about Sergio, a young man who apparently killed his parents by throwing them off the balcony of the apartment where they lived, and I say "apparently", because since he did that, he never talked about it and, obviously he was imprisoned because he was there, but he never gave statements or issued any comment. Now, he is released from the correctional facility and a psychologist named Ana, installs cameras in his apartment to keep an eye on him and together with a girl named Martha, they will try to get the truth out of him about what happened that night and why he did it, if he did it, practically those are the three main characters.
Explaining the plot, I have to start by saying that really, the series does not catch you instantly, I think the plot at the beginning was extremely slow, there were times when I took my phone or wanted to fast forward, because there really were many long scenes or filler or just boring. The episodes in which I got excited and wanted to see more and continue were the last two (the fifth and the sixth), but compared to the others I think that only those two had such a relevance that makes you want more.
Una de las cosas que más me hizo un poco de ruido y que no me gustó, fue la poca participación de Manu Ríos, una actor que me gusta mucho y que le dieron un papel y unas escenas muy mediocres, con tanto marketing que hicieron con su nombre y que es una serie que reúne nuevamente a Manu y a Aaron a la pantalla, que ya los habíamos visto antes en Élite.
One of the things that made me a little noise and that I did not like, was the little participation of Manu Rios, an actor that I like a lot and that they gave him a role and some very mediocre scenes, with so much marketing that they did with his name and that is a series that reunites again Manu and Aaron to the screen, that we had already seen them before in Elite.
Martha's character was also one of my least favorite, that confusion, that love triangle with Sergio and Eneko, did not favor the plot, many times I found her irritating, annoying and pointless. On the other hand, the psychologist's character, I liked her a lot and that plot twist she has at the end, her sick obsession with Sergio made her very interesting, I liked her scenes a lot.
Aaron Piper interpreta un personaje fuerte, determinante, su actuación es muy buena, pulcra, sabe utilizar sus expresiones faciales, sus gritos, de verdad podías percibir la frustración en su mirada, un personaje muy bien construido, desarrollado y llevado a cabo.
Aaron Piper plays a strong, decisive character, his acting is very good, neat, he knows how to use his facial expressions, his screams, you could really perceive the frustration in his eyes, a very well built character, developed and carried out.
Las tramas secundarias estuvieron sumamente flojas, no me atraparon en lo absoluto y yo solo quería ver las escenas de la psicóloga y Sergio, del resto me pareció muy flojo y eso es un error garrafal en cualquier serie. Lo único que me mantuvo un poco pendiente fue la trama del pastor evangélico (que honestamente no recuerdo como se llama), del resto, no me gustaron las demás.
The secondary plots were extremely weak, they didn't catch me at all and I only wanted to see the scenes of the psychologist and Sergio, the rest seemed to me very weak and that is a blunder in any series. The only thing that kept me a little bit interested was the plot of the evangelical pastor (I honestly don't remember his name), the rest, I didn't like the rest.
En fin, es una serie con muchos pros y contras, que la actuación de Aaron Piper y la trama principal se lleva todo el mérito, del resto, es aburrida. Ese final, no fue de mis favoritos, pero fue intrigante, si sacan otra temporada o la dejan así, me dará igual, porque igual siento que ya no hay mucho que se le pueda exprimir a esa serie. Mi calificación final es 5/10

Anyway, it's a series with many pros and cons, Aaron Piper's performance and the main plot takes all the credit, the rest is boring. That ending was not one of my favorites, but it was intriguing, if they bring out another season or leave it like that, I won't care, because I still feel that there is not much that can be squeezed out of this series. My final rating is 5/10

Es la segunda vez que leo algo sobre esta serie, aunque la primera publicación que leí sobre ella decía cosas muy positivas. Me gustaría verla para formarme mi propia opinión... :)
