Gen V Review | Anything from The Boys universe is definitely wild.

Cinephiles have been getting a wild rush of adrenaline with The Boys series since 2019. The show gives us the wildest visuals, dialogues, and a very clear highlight of the sort of deep shit we will all be in if we are in a world of corrupt superheroes.

Imagine how wild the violence would be if we had loads of superheroes in the world and each of them are crazy enough to use their powers and cause mayhem without blinking. That's what The Boys tvshow explores and I can assure you that the gore is raised to 100% and the language isn't even suitable for those under 21. Haha. That's just how crazy the show is.

While The Boys focuses on the adults in the universe and what they do with their power, the makers decided to bring something else from The Boy's universe.

TvShow: Gen V

Genre: Action

Network: Prime Video

Episodes: 8

This passes as a spin-off to The Boys series with more focus on the lifestyle of the younger generation of superheroes in the cinematic universe. It was released on September 29, 2023, and I've been holding off from watching this until recently. I've said severally that I'm not the biggest fan of spin-off series so I wasn't in a hurry to check this out.

However, the first few episodes of the 4th season of The Boys premiered on 13th June and a few characters from Gen V were going to make an appearance in this new season. I wouldn't want to feel like I jumped scenes while watching this long-awaited season of The Boys. That's exactly why I finally decided to watch Gen V.

In the cinematic universe's typical fashion of wowing viewers with gore graphic violence, this particular show didn't disappoint in that regard. At this point, it's already obvious that this show isn't for anyone who's easily triggered by adult content, inappropriate language, or inappropriate humor. This could take a hit on your mental health if you can't cope with the inappropriateness. Haha.

Trust me, everything from this universe is a bloody fest of inappropriateness.

Meanwhile, I'm very sure that a lot of people go all-in for shows like this. If you are one of those, start by watching The Boys series. Then, get into the Gen V ship afterward. Both series were done with an interesting creativity that will blow your mind. There's really no dull moment in this universe and just when you think the inappropriate scenes couldn't get any worse, you will be served even more inappropriate stuff.

The highlight of watching the entire Gen V was always those moments when some big guns from The Boys series made a special appearance in this spin-off.

  • Soldier Boy got his Cameo and he took just 3 minutes to deliver his extremely inappropriate lines. Haha.

  • Homelander also got his special appearance and as you would expect from a wild homelander, he lazered the living hell out of Bloody Marie.

  • Billy Butcher didn't even have a dialogue. He just got a Cameo that's less than a minute in the ending credit for Gen V and his one-line monologue had me in stitches.

Reactors on YouTube are already having a reaction fest with the ongoing 4th season of The Boys. I'm waiting patiently for the season finale to be released before I will start watching this season of the show.

Thanks For Not Missing Any Full-stop or Comma.

With one of the lead cast dead now, i wonder how, when or if the second season would be done

True. I heard about the death of the guy that played Andre Anderson. I think the best bet would be for the writers to give the character a goodbye from the show and bring someone else to the forefront.

Some of the characters from this show will also be featured in the 4th season of The Boys. So, I'm looking forward to how the whole thing will unfold.
