3 Tunes... The beat drop in Kdrama OSTs are wild.
Hello, it's three tunes day. C'mon, let's have a blast with this.
For the record, #ttt (Three Tunes Tuesday) is an ongoing initiative which is organized by @ablaze for all music lovers. Catch the full gist about that HERE.
We movie lovers who are also deep appreciators of music do not just watch movies for what's acted on screen. Yeah! The thing we see on screen is the main thing that defines a Movie, Drama, or TV show. A really good story wouldn't be any good if it's displayed with poor cinematic brilliance.
However, there's also a sentimental attachment we have to the songs used as soundtracks in movies and TV shows. A bunch of those songs resonate with viewers in special ways and for someone like myself, I just find myself digging around to find the soundtrack and have it saved in a music folder which I exclusively dedicate to Original Soundtracks (OSTs).
In this week's edition of Three Tunes Tuesday, I will be walking you through my OST folder where you will get the pleasure of taking a sneak peek at the movie soundtracks I vibe to. I have 54 songs in my OST folder and 100% of those soundtracks are from Kdramas. That wouldn't be a surprise since I mostly watch Kdramas.
Check out a few of those songs;
1. OST from Arthdal Chronicles.
Arthdal Chronicles is an epic Kdrama that's based in a mythical land called Arth. The show is a unique highlight of what seems like a factual historical drama despite being a full-blown fictional story. The first season of the show was released in 2019 and the second season which came out just a year ago had some new elements to it.
This soundtrack, Chosen One, is one of the new additions to the latest season of the show and the addition is a very good decision on the part of the production team. The song was composed by Forestella, a crossover South Korean vocal quartet. This song has a perfect blend to the story and it always brings back memories of this show whenever I listen to it.
2. OST from The Veil.
The Veil is one of those Black Ops secret international mission series that highlights the life secret Agents have to live and some things that will likely occur when they get betrayed by a colleague or their country while on an off-the-book international assignment. This is Koreans doing what they do best and the cinematic display of the story was done with brilliance.
This soundtrack, Reason by Yaori, also played a big part in setting the tone for this show. Yaori is somewhat of a legend in her Kdrama soundtrack record. She has produced a bunch of really good OSTs and this particular one is one of the most striking ones. For the record, this is the ringtone for my lady and she vibes to it like crazy. Hehe.
3. OST from Stranger.
This TV show digs into the Korean political arena and its legal system with a focus on the relationship between the Prosecutors and Police when solving crimes in South Korea. It's a full-blown crime show with so many twists and turns. I'm always all-in for shows like that and this has a psychological thriller theme as one of the salient themes.
This soundtrack titled Crisis is composed with a voice that genuinely makes viewers crazy about a show that's already sparking crazy reactions. The beat drops for this soundtrack are well timed and the production team of this Kdrama milked it nicely. It made some tense scenes more dramatic and I thoroughly enjoyed those.
Since I'm mostly into Kdramas, a bunch of the Kdrama soundtracks in my OST folder are Korean songs which I don't make sense of the lyrics. Some do not even have lyrics. Yet, I vibe to these soundtracks and they mean so much to me.
Thanks For Not Missing Any Full-stop or Comma.

I am seeing a lot of Korean dramas mentioned that I have never watched. Seems like I have been missing in action. As for their music, they do sound great. I enjoyed listening to the CRISIS in particular.

Hahah... Do you also enjoy Kdramas?
I've been enjoying Korean Dramas since 2010 and I'm a big fan of their work. I started getting into their soundtracks afterwards and I have a lot of those in my playlist.
I have heard a lot about Kdramas. In fact, many loved ones are fans of Korean movies. I love the soundtrack and I believe it's time I give it a trial.

Kdramas are really awesome especially when you are careful enough to pick the ones that align with the theme of shows you usually enjoy. Hehe
Lovely... Make I try am out.
When I saw the title, I thought it will be filled with K-dramas I am very familiar with but out of the three, I have only seen Arthdal Chronicles. I haven't seen the second part though, I should see it soon. I will check out the other ones you mentioned as well. They seem nice.

Awesome. Haha. I'm impressed you've watched Arthdal Chronicles. It happens to be one of those kdramas that is quite underrated. Maybe it's just me, but I rate the show highly and I like how they offers a setting that's unique to what's mostly seen in Kdrama. Hehe
