Who doesn't know the German version of Dracula, Nosferatu?
In 1922, the Symphony of Horror was created and the terrifying figure of the emaciated vampire was first shown on screens. In 1979, a second version was created, where the atmosphere of the old tape with the famous acceleration and the orchestra in the background and the dialogues were on the screen in the form of a board, was replaced by sound and colors in this version, the Gothic note was removed, in favor of a deeper delving into the psychology of the characters. In places it is strange, in places it is different, you don't feel the fear like in the part from 1922.
2024 comes and the latest vision of Nosferatu is created, this time it is not German like the previous two, but American.

Nosferatu 2024 can be said to be the closest to Symphony of Horror from 1922, although with many mistakes that can take this film on quite strange paths.
Director Robert Eggers takes the viewer by the hand and puts him in the most uncomfortable chair, although beautifully upholstered.
As for the visual side, it is a truly magical film, the Gothic style spills out as strongly as during a screening of Francis Ford Coppola's Dracula. You can even drift away for a moment into this Victorian world full of filthy things.
Nosferatu and Dracula have a lot in common, so much that in places it is an identical vision.
In the film from 2024, the story is similar to all visions of Nosferatu or Dracula, although it was obvious that the director did not try to be subtle.
The film tells the story of young Thomas, who has just married the beautiful Ellen. Thomas gets a job as a trustee who has to deliver papers for the purchase of land in Germany, not realizing that he will have to go to Transylvania.

When he gets there, the locals are not very willing to let him spend the night in a nearby inn. At night, he sees a vampire hunt. The young confidant is shocked by what he sees.
The next day, he sets off on foot because the locals do not want to interfere, knowing where he is going to Orlok's castle.
The first meeting and later appearances of Orlok are shrouded in mystery, and this was done very well, as viewers we do not know what the titular Count looks like and whether he differs much from previous film incarnations.
However, the magic has to wear off at some point and Orlok appears in all his glory when he meets Thomas' wife.
Unfortunately, I didn't like this look, I was expecting something completely different, and what I got was a version like something out of a comedy called What We Do in the Shadows.
The whole plot of the conversation between Orlok and Thomas is very similar here to other versions.
The difference is that Ellen is staying with Thomas' friend and there she tries to tame the dreams that have come over her, which have been getting stronger for some time, and they started when she was young and wanted to have a companion.
Nosferatu sails away on a ship (in a similar tone to Dracula in the Coffin) to the new lands he bought.
The closer we get to the end, the more the film gets a bit lost, on the one hand we have a bitten Thomas who doesn't do much about it, on the other Ellen who has to save those she loves (here nothing has been changed), but unfortunately the ending didn't convince me.
Too seemed infantile as if without any fight (Nosferatu from 1922 had a moment of fighting with the window) here nothing literally freezing
The film is for adults, although I think that the category was definitely added here forcibly. Several scenes of undressing and a sex scene destroy this subtlety of Gothic cinema, although I know that such a scene also occurred in Dracula, it was less exploited, even negligible.
Here it is something completely different, nudity is strongly thrown into the foreground as in a cheap category film, and the mysterious romance is here reduced to the main character having fun with Nosferatu.
Of course, the proportions of good taste are maintained, but somewhere here it is all not very convincing.
I would rather expect a version like in 1979, where the erotomaniac Kinski played Nosferatu and there somehow managed to subtly show many threads and leave unsaid.
Here, unfortunately, another film that lacks subtlety and sensitivity.
Willem Defoe and his version of the mad professor Albin deserve big applause.
The actor who played Nosferatu is already well-known in Hollywood, having once played Pennywise in the movie It and most recently the title role in the movie The Crow.
If I were to rate the visual form of this film, I would have to give it a solid 8, although in places you can see the artificiality, you can almost drown and be enchanted in this created land.
The music is there, although it was not striking to my ears. As for the acting, I think that each of the actors played very convincingly (apart from Nosferatu, unfortunately I think that this character was not used well by Bill, and it even seems to me that it is severely cut in places)
This is not a film that will be remembered like Dracula 1993, but it is a better vision than Nosferatu 1979 serves us, although for the lack of subtlety and strong bluntness it only slightly surpasses this version.
Nosferatu 2024 is a film that has atmosphere, but in terms of the plot it follows the easiest path.
Forgetting what is important in this type of work, where understatement and mystery played a big role.
It's not a bad movie, it's interesting to watch, although due to a few plot holes you can feel like you're sitting on a beautiful chair that's very uncomfortable
6/10. It could have been the best vampire in history, and then it's too up-to-date again.
Któż nie zna niemieckiej wersji Draculi jakim jest Nosferatu?
1922 roku powstała Symfonia Grozy i po raz pierwszy na ekranach ukazano przerażająca postać wychudzonego wampira. W 1979 powstała druga wersja, gdzie klimat starej taśmy ze słynnym przyspieszeniem i orkiestra w tle a dialogi były na ekranie w formie planszy, zastąpiono dźwiękiem i kolorami w tej wersji pozbawiono nuty gotyku, na rzecz bardziej zagłębieniu się w psychologię bohaterów. Miejscami jest dziwnie, miejscami zaś inaczej, nie czuć tego strachu jak w części z 1922.
Przychodzi 2024 i powstaje najnowsza wizja Nosferatu, tym razem nie jest ona niemiecka jak dwie poprzednie, a amerykańska.

Nosferatu 2024 można powiedzieć, ze to twór który najbliżej Symfonii Grozy z 1922 choć z wieloma błędami, które potrafią na dosyć dziwne tory dać ten film.
Reżyser Robert Eggers zabiera widza za rękę i kładzie go w najbardziej niekomfortowe krzesło, choć pięknie obite.
Jeśli chodzi o stronę wizualna to jest film wręcz magiczny, gotyk się wylewa tak mocno jak przy seansie Draculi Fracisa Forda Coppoli. Można wręcz na chwile odpłynąć w ten wiktoriański świat pełen plugawych rzeczy.
Nosferatu i Dracula maja wiele wspólnego tak dużo, ze miejscami jest to identyczna wizja.
W filmie z 2024 historia jest podobna jak we wszystkich wizjach Nosferatu czy Draculi, choć widać było, ze reżyser nie starał się być subtelny.
Film opowiada o młodym Thomasie, który właśnie wziął za żonę piękna Ellen. Thomas dostaje prace jako powiernik, który musi dostarczyć papiery kupna ziem na terenie Niemiec, nie zdaje sobie sprawy, ze będzie musial wyruszyć do Transylwanii.

Kiedy jest na miejscu miejscowa ludność niezbyt przychylnie skłonna jest by przenocował w pobliskiej karczmie. W nocy zaś widzi polowanie na wampiry. Mlodego powiernika szokuje to co widzi.
Nazajutrz wyrusza na piechotę gdyż ludność nie chce ingerować wiedząc gdzie zmierza do zamku Orloka.
Pierwsze spotkanie jak i późniejsze pojawienia Orloka są owiane mgła tajemniczości i to udało się bardzo fajnie, jako widzowie nie wiemy jak wyglada tytułowy Hrabia i czy mocno różni się od poprzednich wcieleń filmowych.
Jednak magia kiedyś musi prysnąć i Orlok pojawia się w pełnej okazałości kiedy spotyka żonę Thomasa.
Niestety taki wyglad nie przypadł mi do gustu, spodziewałem się czegoś zupełnie innego, a dostałem wersje niczym z komedii Co Robimy w Ukryciu.
Cały wątek rozmowy Orloka i Thomasa jest tutaj bardzo podobny jak w innych wersjach.
Różnica jest, ze Ellen przebywa u kolegi Thomasa i tam próbuje ujarzmić sny, które ja dopadły, a które od pewnego czasu nabierają na sile, a zaczęły się kiedy była młoda i chciała mieć towarzysza.
Nosferatu wypływa statkiem ( w podobnej tonacji jak w Draculi w trumnie) do nowych ziem jakie zakupił.
Im bliżej końca tym film trochę się gubi, z jednej strony mamy pogryzionego Thomasa, który nic zbytnio z tym nie robi, z drugiej Ellen, która musi ocalić tych co kocha ( tutaj akurat nic nie zostało zmienione) jednak finał niestety nie kupił mnie.
Zbyt wydawał się infantylny jakby bez żadnej walki ( Nosferatu z 1922 miał moment walki z oknem) tutaj nic dosłownie zastygnięcie
Film jest dla osób pełnoletnich, choc uważam, ze zdecydowanie na sile kategoria została tutaj dodana taka a nie inna. Kilka scena rozbieranych oraz scena seksu burzy ta subtelność kina gotyckiego choc wiem ze i w Draculi się zdarzyła taka scena to była ona mniej eksploatowana, a wręcz znikoma.
Tutaj jest to coś zupełnie innego, golizna jest mocno rzucona na pierwszy plan jak z taniego filmu kategorii z zaś owy tajemniczy romans jest tutaj sprowadzony do tego by Nosferatu pobawił się główna bohaterka.
Oczywiście są zachowane proporcje dobrego smaku, jednak gdzieś tutaj to wszystko jest niezbyt przekonujące.
Prędzej spodziewał bym się wersji takiej w 1979 roku gdzie erotoman Kinski grał Nosferatu i tam jakoś udało sie subtelnie ukazać wiele wątki i pozostawić niedomowienia.
Tutaj niestety kolejny film gdzie brakuje subtelności i wyczucia.
Na duże brawa zasługuje Willem Defoe i jego wersja szalonego profesora Albina.
Aktor który grał Nosferatu jest już dobrze znany w Hollywood grał kiedyś Pennywise w filmie It czy ostatnio tytułowego w filmie Kruk.
Jeśli miałbym ocenić formę wizualna tego filmu to musiałbym dać mocne 8 choć miejscami widać sztuczność to jednak można wręcz utonąć i zaczarować się w tej wykreowanej krainie.
Muzyka jest choć nie rzucała mi się w uszy. Co do gry aktorskiej to uważam, ze każdy z aktorów odegrał bardzo przekonująco ( prócz Nosferatu, niestety uważam, ze nie została ta postać dobrze wykorzystana przez Billa, a wręcz wydaje mi się ze miejscami jest mocno przycięta)
Nie jest to film, który zapadnie w pamięci jak Dracula 1993, lecz jest to lepsza wizja niż serwuje nam Nosferatu 1979 choć za brak subtelności i mocna dosadność to tylko delikatnie przewyższa ta wersje.
Nosferatu 2024 to film, który ma klimat, lecz fabularnie idzie po najłatwiejszej ścieżce.
Zapominając o tym co jest ważne w tego typu dziełach, gdzie niedomówienie i tajemniczość odgrywały duża role.
Nie jest to film zły, ogląda się go z zaciekawieniem, choć przez fakt kilku dziur fabularnych można poczuć się jak właśnie na pięknym krześle który jest bardzo niewygodne
6/10. Mógł to być najlepszy wampir w dziejach, a dalej jest znów zbyt na czasie.
