In 1973, director Víctor Erice creates a work that is remembered for a long time.
A film that is interesting, arouses many emotions and gives food for thought. The screenplay, with the participation of Francisco J. Querejeta, is, one might say, a milestone among Spanish films.
THE FILM THE SPIRIT OF THE ROY or in Spanish p is an action film that combines the real world with the imagination of children.
It's 1940 and a traveling cinema comes to a small town where the main attraction is to be shown the horror film Frankeinstain. Two sisters Ana and Isabel decide to go to see this mysterious movie. Imagination after the screening creates a reflection in the real world.
The film tells the story of a rather strongly peculiar family, which the mother wants to free herself from her current husband and return to her former one, the children live in the world of imagination, while the current husband's only desire is his swarm of wasps.
Each of these people has its own light and dark side. The girls, without saying anything to their parents, go to a secret house believing that there they will meet their Monster with whom they can play.
The film is a sad drama of people living on the outskirts of civilization during the height of communism and war, where everything was bad even helping people they met.
The title ghost is explained here although the symbolism may be different for many.
A ghost can be called a family that, like a specter, passes through the days in a clampdown on power, a ghost can be called a mysterious stranger who causes Ana to see her Friendly Monster.
The finale of the story is thoroughly ambiguous, on the one hand we can observe the exhaustion of the family on the other, perhaps severe mushroom poisoning.
Overall I recommend it, although it's a slow film full of extremely beautiful landscapes and in a rather novel way made because it has as many as 1000 cuts.
7/10 because in my opinion the finale is too long-winded and makes us as viewers wonder if the metaphor made sense.

Film, który ciekawi, wzbudza wiele emocje oraz daje do myślenia. Scenariusz przy udziale Francisco J. Querejeta jest można rzec kamieniem milowym wśród filmów hiszpańskich.

Jest rok 1940 do małego miasteczka przyjeżdża objazdowe kino gdzie główna atrakcja ma byc wyświetlany horror Frankeinstain. Dwie siostry Ana i Isabel postanawiają wybrać się na ten tajemniczy film. Wyobraźnia po seansie tworzy odzwierciedlenie w świecie rzeczywistym.
Film opowiada o dość mocno specyficznej rodzinie, które matka pragnie uwolnić się od aktualnego męża i wrócić do dawnego, dzieci żyją w świecie wyobraźni, zaś aktualny mąż jedyne czego pragnie to swój rój os.
Każda z tych osób ma swoją jasna i ciemna stronę. Dziewczynki nie mówiąc nic rodzicom udają się do tajemniczego domu wierząc, ze tam spotkają swojego Potwora z którym się będą mogły bawić.
Film jest smutnym dramatem ludzi mieszkających na uboczu cywilizacji w czasie największej zagłady komunizmu i wojny, gdzie wszystko było złe nawet pomoc napotkanym ludziom.
Tytułowy duch jest tutaj wyjaśniony choć symbolika może byc dla wielu rożna.
Duchem można nazwać rodzine, która niczym widmo przemija przez kolejne dni w zaciśnięcie władzy, duchem można nazwać tajemniczego przybysza który powoduje, ze Ana widzi swojego Przyjaznego Potwora.
Finał tej opowieści jest na wskroś dwuznaczny, z jednej strony możemy obserwować przemęczenie rodziny z drugiej byc może ciężkie zatrucie grzybami.
Ogólnie polecam choć to powolny film pełen niezwykle pięknych krajobrazów oraz w dość nowatorski sposób wykonany bo aż 1000 ciec posiada.
7/10 gdyż moim zdaniem finał jest zbyt rozwleczony i powoduje, ze jako widzowie zastanawiamy czy ta metafora miała sens.
