The perfect and unforgettable vacation

Aftersun is a drama that takes the viewer by the hand and leads him on an unusually vacation, unusually because the only one so fondly remembered by the protagonist's 11-year-old daughter.

Depression is a disease that drills into the mind, and despite its increasingly worse states, it is often the case that people do something extraordinary knowing what it leads to.

This is what the main character did, having an 11-year-old daughter, he decides to take her on an extraordinary vacation to Turkey.
There he gets to know her better since he was not at home.

Sophie gives meaning to the whole vacation, tries to make it perfect for her, full of attractions and unusual people.
Although, she tries to make up for the time when he was not with her. She tries not to be just the background she saw in him in the monthly transfers.
She tries to immortalize the whole thing. Every moment to record so that it will be a keepsake for her daughter for many years to come.
Each day shows that Sophie tries to understand Callum in her own way, but the demons are sometimes more and more powerful.

It's a film that shows love for one's child, warmth joy as well as crying, sadness grief and helplessness behind the mask of a smile.
The film initially tries to build a friendly tone, showing the viewer a loving family of father and daughter who are spending the vacation of their lives in a hotel, but the devil is in the many details in which the director perfectly punctuates the psyche of men who are fighting themselves, unable to ask for help because it's not manly. Showing with every smile hides a cry full of sadness, regret and increasing loss.

Callum, despite his various emotions, tries not to show his inner demons in front of his daughter, which results in later consequences.

The director asks us whether, as parents, we would open up to our child by telling an 11-year-old about his problems, which are weighing down more and more heavily and the day is becoming night, the protagonist nevertheless tries not to say anything, and when he does speak he tries to answer evasively to satisfy knowledge and not cause sadness.

Aftersun is a veritable time bomb slowly starts the film even sluggishly, we feel the warmth beating from the screen, only to feel with each passing second that what is going on, that something is wrong here, that something evil is in the air, that the closer we get to the finale we will witness an explosion.

The explosion is there, although it's up to us how we interpret it and how we look at the whole thing on the lives of the two protagonists, who for a week's vacation try to relax as best they can, although the factors of everyday life make themselves known more and more powerfully.

I recommend it because it's a sad film about the protagonist losing everything and wanting it to be magical at least for a while.

Idealne i niezapomniane wakacje

Aftersun to dramat, który bierze widza za rękę i prowadzi na niezwykle wakacje, niezwykle bo jedyne tak bardzo mocno zapamiętane przez 11 letnia córkę bohatera.

Depresja to choroba, która wierci się w umyśle i mimo coraz gorszych stanów często bywa tak ze robią ludzie coś niezwykłego wiedząc do czego to prowadzi.

Tak zrobił tez główny bohater mający 11 letnia córkę, postanawia zabrać ja na niezwykle wakacje do Turcji.
Tam poznaje ja bliżej gdyż nie było go w domu.

Sophie nadaje sens całym wakacjom, stara się dla niej by były one idealne, pełne atrakcji i niezwykłych ludzi.
Chociaż, próbuje nadrobić czas kiedy nie było go przy niej. Stara się nie być tylko tłem jaki widziała w nim w comiesięcznych przelewach.
Całość stara się uwiecznić. Każda chwile zapisać by dla córki była to pamiątka na wiele lat.
Każdy dzień pokazuje, ze Sophie próbuje zrozumieć na swój sposób Calluma, jednak demony bywają coraz potężniejsze.

To film, który pokazuje miłość do swojego dziecka, ciepło radość oraz płacz, smutek żal i bezradność za maska uśmiechu.
Film początkowo stara się zbudować przyjazny ton, pokazując widzowi kochająca się rodzine ojca i córkę, którzy spędzają w hotelu wakacje ich życia, jednak diabeł tkwi w wielu szczegółach w którym reżyserka idealnie punktuje psychikę mężczyzn, którzy walczą sami ze sobą nie mogąc prosić o pomoc bo to nie jest męskie. Pokazując ze każdym uśmiechem kryje się płacz pełen smutku, żalu i coraz większego zatracenia.

Callum mimo różnych emocji stara się przy córce nie okazywać wewnętrznych demonów co skutkuje to późniejszymi konsekwencjami.

Reżyserka zadaje nam pytanie czy jako rodzice otwarlibyśmy się przed swoim dzieckiem mówiąc 11 latce o swych problemach, które ciąża coraz mocniej i dzień staje się nocą, bohater mimo wszystko stara się nic nie mówić, a kiedy mówi stara się odpowiadać wymijająco by zaspokoić wiedzę i nie powodować smutku.

Aftersun to istna bomba zegarowa powoli zaczyna się film wręcz ospale, czujemy ciepło bijące z ekranu, by z każda kolejna sekunda czuć, ze co się dzieje, ze coś jest tutaj nie tak, ze coś jest złego w powietrzu, ze im bliżej będziemy finału to uświadczymy wybuchu.

Wybuch takowy jest choć to od nas zależy jak będziemy go interpretować i jak spojrzymy na całość na życie dwójki bohaterów, którzy na tydzień wakacji starają się odpocząć jak najlepiej choć czynniki codzienności dają o sobie znać coraz potężniej.

Polecam bo to smutny film o tym, ze bohater stracił wszystko i chociaż na chwile chce by było magicznie.
