Kung Fu Panda siempre me ha gustado y ocho años después de la última se estrenó Kung Fu Panda 4 con algunos cambios importantes, el cambio más obvio es la ausencia de los Cinco Furiosos que sinceramente fue como perder a un grupo de viejos amigos, hay un vacío que es difícil de ignorar y aunque la película intenta compensarlo metiendo nuevos personajes y centrándose más en el crecimiento personal de Po, me pareció que eso no ayudó de mucho. La animación sigue siendo buena, con sus colores brillantes pero no sé si esta fue mi película favorita en comparación con las anteriores.

La historia comienza con Po viviendo una vida de paz, contento con ser el Guerrero Dragón y disfrutando tranquilamente de su papel, cuando el Maestro Shifu suelta una bomba, todo cambia porque Po se convertirá en el Líder Espiritual del Valle de la Paz y debe encontrar a alguien que lo reemplace como Guerrero Dragón aunque Po no está muy feliz con la idea de ceder el papel en el que ha estado trabajando tan duro. Po está ocupado con esta crisis profesional cuando se cruza en su camino con Zhen una zorra muy inteligente aunque ese primer encuentro está asociado a una nueva amenaza, un villano que cambia de forma El Camaleón que puede convertirse en cualquiera de los enemigos pasados de Po y está decidido a quitarles los poderes del kung fu, Zhen y Po se encargan de pelear juntos contra El Camaleón.

Siempre me ha gustado Kung Fu Panda porque disfruto ver a Po en acción además que la película es bastante cómica tiene muchos chistes y escenas de acción y pelea que son buenas pero me hizo falta la presencia de los personajes de siempre quizás la franquicia está tratando de reinventarse pero no estoy segura de sí funcionó mucho la forma en que lo hicieron sin los Cinco Furiosos, los nuevos personajes parecen algo creado como para llenar un vacío. El tema sobre dejar ir y cambiar me pareció bueno y profundo aunque a veces se sentí que era algo forzado en vez de natural, no voy a decir que no disfruté de la película solo me pareció que algo faltaba Po encontrando su suplente no es una gran historia y ya por la mitad el ritmo fue algo lento, además de que el personaje de Zhen me pareció predecible desde el primer momento lo descubrí.

Aunque hay cambios y nuevos personajes Jack Black sigue siendo la voz de Po con la misma alegría y esa mezcla de tonto y gran corazón que me gustó desde la primera película, aunque esta vez el personaje de Po es más interesante trabajando en esa idea de cambiar y dejar ir. Viola Davis es El Camaleón me gustó la forma en que cambia de personalidad a medida que El Camaleón cambia de forma hace que el personaje sea algo amenazador. Awkwafina hace la voz de Zhen que está bien pero ese personaje parece más de lo mismo en las películas animadas, una de las escenas que más me conmovió fue la de los dos padres de Po con la voz de James Hong y Bryan Cranston.

La parte más interesante de toda la película es cómo intenta encontrar el equilibrio entre la nostalgia y lo nuevo al presentar nuevas amenazas contra las que luchar, la franquicia también muestra sus puntos fuertes y débiles al decidir incluir a malvados anteriores. El final de Kung Fu Panda 4 también es algo predecible, el viaje de Po llega a su fin de una manera que resulta familiar, El Camaleón tiene una serie de enfrentamientos con Po en Ciudad Juniper y utiliza sus habilidades de cambio de forma para convertirse en villanos del pasado de Po, como Tai Lung esta parte del final es interesante porque se relaciona con la lucha de Po por renunciar a su título de Guerrero Dragón, esto no se trata solo de ganar otra pelea, se trata de que Po acepte el cambio y sepa que su papel como líder espiritual no significa que esté perdiendo quién es y de qué se trata, Zhen demuestra que es digna de convertirse en la próxima Guerrera Dragón no por ser una gran luchadora sino por mostrar el mismo tipo de corazón y determinación que hicieron de Po una elección tan acertada en primer lugar, al final Po acepta su nuevo papel y pasa sus responsabilidades a Zhen, creo que Kung Fu Panda 4 es una película que intenta algo nuevo y aunque no salió muy bien es lo suficientemente entretenida para seguir la historia y la animación y escenas de acción te mantienen interesado en la película, si la comparo con las tres películas anteriores no creo que sea la mejor pero como soy fan creo que vale la pena verla, le doy un 6.9/10.

I've always liked Kung Fu Panda because I enjoy seeing Po in action, plus the movie is quite funny, it has lots of jokes and action and fight scenes that are good, but I missed the presence of the usual characters. Maybe the franchise is trying to reinvent itself, but I'm not sure if it worked. The way they did it without the Furious Five didn't work very well, the new characters seem like something created to fill a void. The theme of letting go and change seemed good and profound to me, although at times it felt a bit forced rather than natural. I'm not going to say that I didn't enjoy the movie, I just felt that something was missing. Po finding his understudy is not a great story and halfway through the pace was a bit slow, plus I found the character of Zhen predictable from the moment I discovered him.
