[Movie review] [Eng | Esp] The Flash | Another Flashpoint adaptation
Welcome my dear fast internet travelers and thank you very much for making a temporary stop in my post, from the start I have to admit that I have never been a big fan of DC Comics live-action films, in fact, I have seen very few of these However, I couldn't resist the film "The Flash" since I really like everything that has to do with this speedster, so I decided to give the film a chance. Without further ado, put on your red suit because we are about to surpass space-time barriers.
Bienvenidos mis queridos viajeros veloces del internet y muchas gracias por hacer una parada temporal en mi post, desde el vamos tengo que admitir que nunca he sido muy fanático de los filmes live-action de DC comics, de hecho, he visto muy pocos de estos, no obstante no pude resistirme al filme "The Flash" puesto que todo lo que tiene que ver con este velocista me gusta mucho por lo que decidí darle una oportunidad a la cinta. Sin más que agregar pónganse su traje rojo que estamos por rebasar las barreras espacio temporales.
The Flash was released this year, it is based on the character of the same name from the comics, it was directed by Andrés Muschietti, produced by Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Studios, it has a duration of 2 hours and 24 minutes. It is an action and superhero film, the story revolves around Barry Allen, the fastest man in the world, he is still adapting to his superhero life after the events that occurred in Justice League (I have not seen it yet because of what it could bring a review soon jajaja) added to the above Flash questions how difficult his life is and how it became extremely complicated after the death of his mother and the imprisonment of his father, all this leads him to the conclusion that he needs to change the past to be able to have the life he always wanted (Exactly, another movie about Flashpoint).
The Flash fue estrenada este año, se basa en el personaje homonimo de los comics, fue dirigida por Andrés Muschietti, producida por Warner Bros. Pictures y DC Studios, cuenta con una duración de 2 horas y 24 minutos. Es un filme de acción y superhéroes, la historia gira entorno a Barry Allen, el hombre más rápido del mundo, este aún se encuentra adaptándose a su vida de superhéroe tras los eventos transcurridos en Justice League (Aún no la he visto por lo que podría traer una reseña pronto jajaja) sumado a lo anterior Flash se cuestiona lo difícil que es su vida y como se complicó de sobremanera tras la muerte de su madre y el encarcelamiento de su padre, todo esto lo lleva a la conclusión de que necesita cambiar el pasado para poder tener la vida que siempre quiso (Exacto, otra película sobre el Flashpoint).

The soundtrack is good, it has good compositions that are very enjoyable but it lacks any that stand out above the rest and that can be said to be exclusively from this film to give it some musical personalization.
La banda sonora está bien, tiene buenas composiciones que son muy disfrutables pero carece de alguna que destaque por sobre el resto y con la que se pueda decir que es exclusivamente de este filme para darle algo de personalización musical.
The world building is executed in a decent way, it has some elements that make it stand out such as some changes between the timelines, however these could have given much more play to show in a more forceful way how temporal stability was affected, something similar to what the animated film Flashpoint did (A Gem, see it if you have the chance) so this film was able to do more with the concept on a contextual level. On the other hand, there are the special effects, which in some situations are amazing with lights, brightness and explosions that are simply fantastic, however at other times they look very static and the CGI looks horrible, this is especially noticeable in some scenes. in which Flash uses his powers, it is not the most harmful thing in the world but they are errors that are easily noticed.
La construcción de mundo se encuentra ejecutada de forma decente, tiene algunos elementos que lo hacen destacar como algunos cambios entre las líneas temporales, no obstante estos pudieron haber dado mucho más juego para mostrar de forma más contunden como se afecto la estabilidad temporar, algo parecido a lo que hizo el filme animado Flashpoint (Una joya, véanla si tienen la oportunidad) por lo que esta cinta pudo hacer más con el concepto a nivel contextual. Por otro lado, están los efectos especiales, los cuales en algunas situaciones son alucinantes con luces, brillo y explosiones sencillamente fantásticas, sin embargo en otros momentos estos se ven muy estáticos y el CGI luce horrible, esto se nota más sobre todo en algunas escenas en las que Flash usa sus poderes, no es lo más perjudicial del mundo pero son fallos que se notan fácilmente.
The plot feels slow and somewhat dull, the grace of the Flashpoint concept lies in showing various things that constantly remind us of the problem generated by a selfish decision and actions, the latter is precisely the failure because the film takes too long to denote this lack of the protagonist's integrity and show him how his actions brought terrible consequences. On the other hand, there are moments in the film in which nothing interesting happens or where things are unnecessarily prolonged. I am not going to deny that the film has moments of action that exceed excellence, but for every good action scene there are like 5. They are just long and boring talks that give little relevant information, the comedy moments are fine, there is nothing to object to about them. Regarding the plot twists, I will only say that they do not really have the best of incorporations into the narrative, they feel rushed in some cases and out of place in others.
La trama se siente lenta y algo sosa, la gracia del concepto de Flashpoint radica en mostrar cosas diversas que recuerden constantemente el problema generado por una decisión y acciones egoístas, esto último es precisamente el fallo debido a que el filme tarda demasiado en denotar está falta de integridad del protagonista y demostrarle como sus acciones trajeron terribles consecuencias. Por otro lado se encuentran los momentos de la cinta en los que no sucede nada interesante o en donde se alargan cosas innecesariamente, no voy a negar que la película tiene momentos de acción que superan la excelencia pero por cada escena de acción buena hay como 5 que solo son charlas largas y aburridas que dan pocos datos que sean relevantes, los momentos de comedia están bien no hay nada que objetar en cuanto a ellos. Con respecto a los giros argumentales solo diré que no tienen realmente la mejor de las incorporaciones en la narrativa, se sienten en algunos casos apresurados y en otros fuera de lugar.
I will only talk about the protagonist, he is the only one who has a halfway decent job to expand on, right off the bat it is easy to empathize with him due to all the difficulties he has had to go through, everything is good there, the problem arises from the fact that that it takes too long to mature and accept that he made a mistake; although this is also partly the fault of the plot that takes time to show the disasters caused by his decisions. All of the above leaves us with a protagonist who takes responsibility for his disaster but who doesn't really convey that feeling of personal growth. The villain feels forced to do more than he can and the rest of the characters have the same development as a stone, at best representing comic relief.
Solo hablaré del protagonista, es el único que tiene un trabajo medianamente decente como para extenderse, de buenas a primeras es fácil empatizar con el debido a todas las dificultades que ha tenido que atravesar, todo bien por ahí, el inconveniente nace por el hecho de que tarda demasiado en madurar y de aceptar que cometió un error; aunque esto también es en parte culpa a la trama que tarda en mostrar los desastres por sus decisiones. Todo lo anterior nos deja con un protagonista que se responsabiliza por su desastre pero que realmente no transmite ese sentimiento de crecimiento personal. El villano se siente forzado a más no poder y el resto de personajes tienen el mismo desarrollo que una piedra, en el mejor de los casos representante un alivio cómico.
The Flash is not generally a bad movie or anything like it, its biggest sins turn out to be the fact that it overexplains some things, having too many moments in which nothing of interest happens and that most of its characters are only to advance the plot in some way. It is for all of the above that it deserves 3 stars out of 7, the few things it does well make it a fairly average film, even if you want to see the concept of Flashpoint better exploited I highly recommend the animated film of the same name, no has loss.
The Flash no es a rasgos generales una mala cinta ni nada que se le asemeje, sus mayores pecados resultan ser el hecho de sobre explicar algunas cosas, tener demasiados momentos en los que no pasa nada de interés y que la mayoría de sus personajes solo estén para hacer avanzar la trama de alguna forma. Es por todo lo anterior que merece 3 estrellas de 7, las pocas cosas que hace bien le valen para ser un filme regular tirando a bueno, igual si desean ver el concepto de Flashpoint mejor explotado les recomiendo encarecidamente la cinta animada del mismo nombre, no tiene pérdida.
