Bienvenidos mis queridos viajeros del internet amantes del terror y muchas gracias por haber hecho una parada temporal en mi post, poco a poco vamos avanzando en la saga de Insidious, siendo que en la presente reseña nos toca revisar la tercera entrega de la saga titulada "Insidious: Chapter 3" la cual opta por indagar un poco en la vida de Elise antes de los acontecimientos de la primera entrega, y, además, en adentrarse en como funciona el mundo del más allá. Sin más que agregar prepárense para ver algunos espíritus que estamos por comenzar.

The soundtrack is exactly the same as the rest of its predecessors, it helps generate an atmosphere of intrigue but there is nothing that really stands out.

The world building is pleasant, this is the first film in the saga that decides to expand a little on what was already being worked on regarding the afterlife, the invocation of spirits and the way in which they can or cannot interact in their world, being a smart decision because all the contextual potential is finally exploited in a subtle way. Ignoring the expansion of its world, the use of shadows and others with the intention of generating suspense and using the backgrounds is again poor and there is not really a focus on making the scenery look like something important and with movement.
La construcción de mundo es agradable, este es el primer filme de la saga que decide ampliar un poco lo que ya se venía trabajando con respecto al más allá, la invocación de espíritus y la forma en que estos pueden o no interactuar en su mundo, siendo una decisión inteligente debido a que por fin se explota de forma sutil todo el potencial contextual. Obviando la ampliación de su mundo, el uso de sombras y demás con intención de generar suspenso y darle uso a los fondos es nuevamente pobre y no existe realmente un enfoque en hacer lucir la escenografía como algo importante y con movimiento.

La trama tiene en parte cierto grado de aire fresco, esta mantiene la esencia de la saga pero decide ir un poco más allá al enfocarse en los dones de algunos personajes y en la forma de cómo interactuar con los espíritus. No obstante, una principal problemática que tiene este filme que ya se veía en la segunda entrega es la carencia de generar de buena forma momentos de suspenso, siendo un problema bastante grave debido a que se supone que el filme es de terror sobrenatural y suspenso notándose su falla en emplear bien ambas cosas; a su vez, decide implementar ciertas confrontaciones contra algunos entes las cuales quedan totalmente fuera de lugar y son completamente anticlimáticas.

En este apartado no hay muchas cosas que destacar, sin embargo es agradable el hecho de que le den cierto trasfondo a un personaje que ha estado presente en las previas entregas, dándole cierto grado de complejidad y haciéndola lucir más interesante. Hubiese sido destacable que trabajase de igual forma al resto de personajes pero lamentablemente estos simplemente se quedan con una caracterización pobre y un nulo enfoque, careciendo de cualquier cosa que los pudiese llegar a mostrar como algo más complejo.
Insidious: Chapter 3 decides to take a different path than its predecessors but maintaining to a certain extent the essence of the saga. Its strong points are the fact that it gives background to a well-known character in this franchise. Unfortunately, it continues to encounter the same problems. of not knowing how to develop a narrative of tension that adapts to what its saga is supposed to symbolize, which is terror and suspense. Insidious: Chapter 3 decide tomar un rumbo diferente a sus antecesoras pero manteniendo en cierta medida la esencia de la saga, como puntos fuertes tiene el hecho de que le da trasfondo a un personaje muy conocido de esta franquicia, desgraciadamente sigue tropezándose con los mismos problemas de no saber desarrollar una narrativa de tensión que se adapte a lo que se supone que simboliza su saga que es el terror y el suspenso. Es por ello que merece 2.5 estrellas de 7, mejora con respecto a su predecesora aunque aún se siente la ausencia de suspenso y terror que caracterizó a la primera entrega.

Saludos, es como decia un viejo exorcista y algunas personas del mundo espiritual que alguna vez conoci: No se debe nunca abrir una puerta al mundo de los espiritus, tampoco tratar con ellos.
Hay montones de casos de personas que jugando o en serio trataron de conectar a los espiritus y terminaron causando problemas.
Es una pena que no hayan podido llevar a buen termino al filme.
