Bienvenidos mis queridos robots viajeros del internet y muchas gracias por hacer una parada temporal en mi post, desde hace ya un tiempo el tema de las inteligencias artificiales se ha vuelto importante y está en boca de todos, es por ello que el filme "Simulant" se siente muy acordé para estos tiempos de incertidumbre en dónde no se sabe que esperar sobre la inteligencia artificial y la forma en que esta haciendo que el mundo cambie. Sin más que agregar prepárense para adquirir un Simulant que estamos por comenzar.
Simulant was released this year, it was directed by April Mullen, produced by WANGO Films and Telefilm Canada, it has a duration of 1 hour and 35 minutes. It is a science fiction story, the plot centers on a widow named Faye who tries to relive what she lived with her deceased husband, which is why she decides to activate a Simulant but little by little she discovers that it is not the same, everything begins to twist when a hacker decides to remove the restrictions on robots in order to make them closer to humans, which will bring more than one consequence to society.
Simulant fue estrenada este año, fue dirigida por April Mullen, producida por WANGO Films y Telefilm Canadá, cuenta con una duración de 1 hora y 35 minutos. Es una historia de ciencia ficción, la trama se centra en una viuda llamada Faye la cual intenta revivir lo que vivió con su difunto marido, es por ello que decide activar un Simulant pero poco a poco va descubriendo que no es lo mismo, todo empieza a torcerse cuando un hacker decide quitarle las restricciones a los robots a fin de hacerlos más cercanos a los humanos lo que traerá más de una consecuencia a la sociedad.

En la construcción de mundo es en dónde se pueden ver las primeras carencias de este filme, estamos hablando de un futuro en el cual la inteligencia artificial ha llegado a niveles insospechados al punto de que debería de notarse un cambio en el orden social pero lamentablemente esto no se ve en ningún momento y la ambientación hace ver como si realmente esto no se palpa, solo existen uno que otro pequeño recordatorio de lo avanzado de la tecnología aunque no ese impacto lógico que se esperaría; hablamos de que en la vida real las IA apenas están dando sus primeros pasos y ya están causando cambios en muchas cosas, me parece absurdo y un desperdicio que un filme que se centra en un futuro en dónde esto ha evolucionado enormemente no aproveche esto para crear dicho mundo que destaque por su ciencia ficción.
The plot is completely bland and feels messy, unfortunately the way in which he decides to develop his narrative is very clumsy to the point that he does it so badly that he achieves nothing, at first it is proposed that the viewer questions what is defines us as humans and that separates us from the AI but doesn't know how to explain it well, and, in fact, ends up contradicting in a stupid way to the point that he only manages to shoot himself in the foot, this theme could be seen better developed in the film "I , Robot" and even more so in the excellent video game "Detroit: Become Human" in which the subject is well treated and really makes you question yourself. At what point does the level of consciousness of a machine make it an individual being? However, this film does not make you wonder anything, it just ends up being a boring mess with unimportant twists and various narrative elements that contribute absolutely nothing but are counterproductive.
La trama es completamente sosa y se siente desordena, desgraciadamente la forma en que decide desarrollar su narrativa es muy torpe al punto de que lo hace tan mal que no logra nada, en un primer momento se propone que el espectador se cuestione que es lo que nos define como humanos y que nos separa de las IA pero no sabe exponerlo bien, y, de hecho, termina contradiciendo de forma estúpida al punto de que solo consigue dispararse en el pie, este tema se pudo ver mejor desarrollado en el filme "I, Robot" y aún más en el excelente videojuego "Detroit: Become Human" en los cuales se trata bien el tema y realmente te hacen cuestionarte ¿En qué momento el nivel de consciencia de una máquina la vuelve un ser individual? No obstante, esta cinta no consigue que te preguntes nada, solo acaba siendo un bodrio aburrido teniendo giros sin importancia y diversos elementos narrativos que no aportan absolutamente nada sino que son contraproducentes.

The detective (Whose I don't even remember his name) is the best evidence of what I just stated, he has a personal crusade against the Simulants but this is so poorly explored that you can't feel anything for his target no matter how noble he is That is, for the rest of the characters the exact same thing happens. The villain is completely stupid, his ambition makes no sense and in fact contradicts itself, his goal is for robots to be free and bring them closer to humans, although paradoxically they can't do it themselves, so that "liberation" is completely null and meaningless, in fact, the film shows that they are not capable of handling all the emotional load that a human being handles, evidencing the distance that exists between them and humanity.
Aquí se evidencia lo mal escrita que está esta cinta, tiene varios personajes que se sienten ajenos y que si bien tienen sus propios problemas y objetivos no consigue enfocarlos lo suficiente como para que te interesen, es como si un extraño en la calle te detenga y te comenzase a contarte sus asuntos siendo imposible que puedan importarte genuinamente. El detective (Del cual ni siquiera recuerdo su nombre) es la mejor evidencia de lo que acabo de afirmar, tiene una cruzada personal contra los Simulant pero esto se encuentra tan mal explorado que no puedes sentir nada por su objetivo sin importar lo noble que esté sea, para el resto de personajes sucede exactamente lo mismo. El villano es completamente estúpido, su ambición no tiene sentido y de hecho se contradice, su meta es que los robots sean libres y acercarlos más a los humanos aunque paradójicamente estos no consiguen hacerlo por ellos mismos por lo que esa "liberación" es completamente nula y carente de sentido, de hecho, el filme demuestra que estos no se encuentran capacitados para toda la carga emocional que maneja un ser humano evidenciando la distancia que hay entre ellos y la humanidad.
Simulant is undoubtedly a pretentious nonsense that tries to be interesting but ends up failing miserably by not having anything to make it halfway good; with terrible characters, a pathetic narrative, and a bland world, it just feels like a bad waste of time. It is for all of the above that it deserves the lowest rating that I can give it, which is half a star out of 7, an idea with a lot of juice that ends up falling into the wrong hands that fails to do anything right, better go and see Will's movie Smith that I mentioned is infinitely better.
Simulant es sin lugar a dudas un despropósito pretencioso que intenta ser interesante pero termina fallando estrepitosamente al no tener nada que la haga medianamente buena; con personajes terribles, una narrativa patética y un mundo soso, solo se siente como una mala pérdida de tiempo. Es por todo lo anterior que se merece la calificación más baja que le puedo dar que es media estrella de 7, una idea con mucho jugo que termina cayendo en las manos equivocadas que no logra hacer nada bien, mejor vayan y vean la película de Will Smith que mencioné que es infinitamente mejor.

Saludos amigo, esta es la primera vez que escucho de esa producción y me gusto como hoy en día están sacando nuevas producciones con respecto a la inteligencia artificial, para así poder captar la atención y saber el potencial que esas máquinas pueden tener, sin duda no siempre las cosas puedan salir bien. Interesante la trama de esta película, la cual nos lleva a pensar y ver que la humanidad está en constante evolución. Gracias por compartirlo con nosotros.
Pensé lo mismo cuando leí la sinopsis de este filme, no obstante no refleja realmente lo que el tema verdaderamente es, por ello recomendé otro filme e incluso un videojuego que realmente exprimen lo que el concepto representa.
