Uglies | Netflix Movies Review
Netflix recently released a movie that, after reading the synopsis, made me think, what kind of crap is this? And yet I deigned to watch it because curiosity always kills the cat.
The name "Uglies" doesn't leave you with anything good to think about. Maybe if it were a horror movie, everything would be a little better, but knowing the context, we can't help but think that it's crap.
But not everything is bad, because from my point of view, I have decided to take this movie as a satire of today's society, which is more concerned about its physical appearance than anything else. With that message in mind, the movie would make a lot of sense.
Hace poco Netflix ha liberado una película que con leer la sinopsis me hizo pensar pero ¿qué bazofia es esta? Y aún así me digne a verla porque la curiosidad siempre mata al gato.
Y es con el mismo nombre "Los feos" no te deja nada bueno para pensar, quizá si fuese de terror todo quedaría un poco mejor pero sabiendo el contexto no podemos evitar pensar en que eso es una porquería.
Pero no todo está mal porque según desde mi punto de vista, he decidido tomar esta película como una sátira a la sociedad actual que están más preocupados por su aspecto físico que otra cosa, con ese mensaje en mente tendría bastante sentido la película.

But what is this movie about? First I want to give you a little of the synopsis that Netflix gives us: In a futuristic dystopia that imposes canons of beauty and cosmetic surgeries, a teenager embarks on a dangerous journey to save a friend.
To explain it better and talk more deeply about the film. We have a population that has practically been brainwashed, and they live in a world that is divided into two factions: The beautiful and The ugly.
This population has been told that to be happy they must only reach their maximum beauty and this brings with it a lot of peace and fulfillment, basically your life is complete and resolved just by being beautiful.
¿Pero de que va está película? Primero les quiero proporcionar un poco de la sinopsis que nos otorga Netflix: En una distopía futurista que impone cánones de belleza y cirugías cosméticas, una adolescente emprende un viaje peligroso para salvar a una amiga.
Para explicarlo mejor y hablar más profundamente de la película. Tenemos a una población a la que prácticamente se le hizo un lavado de cerebro, y viven en un mundo que se devide en dos facciones: Los hermosos y Los feos.
A esta población se la ha dicho que para ser felices solo deben alcanzar su belleza maxima y esto trae consigo mucha paz y realización, básicamente ya tu vida está completa y resuelta solamente con ser hermoso.
So it has been established that the population upon reaching the age of 16 is subjected to surgery in order to achieve this beautiful version of themselves and finally feel complete. The part of the population that has not yet had the surgery or is in the process of doing so are considered 'ugly' and basically cannot access the same benefits as the other group.
Así que se ha establecido que la población al cumplir los 16 años de edad sean sometidos a una cirugía para lograr esta versión hermosa de ellos mismos y sentirse finalmente completos. La parte de la población que todavía no se ha realizado la cirugía o está en proceso son considerados 'Feos' y básicamente no pueden acceder a los mismos beneficios que el otro grupo.

Of course, all of this happens in a futuristic environment where technology reigns in the world, and things are not exactly the same as in our time. In fact, we see how the things we have now are only a ruined part.
In this superficial world, even nature and characters that age naturally are considered a myth. There is even a rumor that these types of people exist and coincidentally the protagonist of this film has a friend who believes in all of this, which ends up getting her into trouble and taking her out of her comfort zone, forcing her to learn more about the world around her.
Claro todo esto pasa en un entorno futurista donde la tecnología es lo que reina en el mundo, y las cosas no son exactamente iguales a nuestro tiempo. De hecho, se observa como las cosas que tenemos ahora son solo una parte en ruinas.
En este mundo tan superficial, incluso la naturaleza y ser personajes que envejecen de forma natural se considera un mito. Incluso hay un rumor de que existen este tipo de personas y casualmente la protagonista de esta película tiene una amiga que cree en todo esto, lo cual acaba con ella en problemas y sacándola de su zona de confort obligando a conocer más del mundo que la rodea.

I think if you take it as a satire it's fine, because that's basically what the current population is doing. We are being brainwashed into thinking that being beautiful will give us some great achievement or easy access to wonderful things. While we are being brainwashed there are people behind the scenes pulling the strings to destroy everything we have without even noticing it because we are asleep thinking about things with no real relevance. This movie has a second part, and I think in the second part the true background of the movie will be revealed because it seems that there is still a piece of information missing...
Me parece que si se toma como una sátira está bien, porque básicamente es lo que la población actual está haciendo. Nos están lavando el cerebro pensando que con ser hermosos tendremos un gran logro o un fácil acceso a cosas maravillosas. Mientras a nosotros nos lavan el cerebro hay personas detrás moviendo los hilos para destruir todo lo que tenemos sin siquiera notarlo porque estamos dormidos pensando en cosas sin verdadera relevancia. Esta película tiene una segunda parte, y creo que en la segunda parte será revelado el verdadero transfondo de la película porque parece que todavía falta una pieza en esa información...

I had my doubts and I thought it would be like you said, but I think the message is important, especially in today's world, where so many people go out of their way to get “likes” on social networks and to fit into beauty standards as if that were everything.

Vi esa película antier, pero no sabía que me iba a dejar esperando por una segunda parte, porque de seguro la debe haber porque no quedaron solucionadas las cosas.
La Vi porque me gustan este tipo de películas futuristas de mundos distópicos como los juegos del hambre o divergentes. Por eso tuve curiosidad de verla.
Siii, yo también pensé que sería una sola película, hay que ver si en algún momento logran sacar la otra parte porque a veces Netflix cancela sus películas así de la nada
Ví la película y estubo bien, cumplió su propósito y pase un rato agradable. No es lo mejor que es visto de ciencia ficción Pero no es malo el filme, una historia interesante donde las personas les importa más verse bien para tratar de sentirse bien con ellos mismo, Pero para otros no es suficiente, prefieren vivir tal cual son y tener otro estilo de vida.

Hola amiga, no sabía de esta película y sin duda suena todo un gran aventura y sobre todo como dividen a la sociedad ante ese gran problema, además es algo que hoy en día tiene mucho de que hablar. Así que a tengo una nueva película para ver este fin de semana y ver qué pasará con esa sociedad de los feos jajja.
