Temple Grandin | Movie Review | A must watch!
Today I want to recommend a movie that I really liked a lot and as soon as I finished watching it I was super excited to share it with you.
Temple Grandin is not the typical movie that we usually see, and it is based on true events, in fact this name is a real name, of the person the movie is based on.
Hoy quiero recomendarles una película que realmente me gustó muchísimo y apenas la terminé de ver estaba súper emocionada por compartirla con ustedes.
Temple Grandin no es la típica pelicula que solemos ver, y está basada en hechos reales, de hecho este nombre es un nombre real, de la persona la cual está basada la película.

Temple Grandin is currently a woman with autism, she was born in 1947. The film is based on the story of this woman and they tell us what it is like to be a person with autism.
Here we will see everything from a different perspective and that is that while I watched scenes from the film and they were explained, I could better understand what was happening and I mean seeing it from the perspective of a person with autism.
Temple Grandin en la actualidad es una mujer con autismo, nació en el 1947. La película se basa en la historia de esta mujer y nos cuentan cómo es ser una persona con autismo.
Aquí veremos todo desde una perspectiva diferente y es que mientras yo veía escenas de la película y eran explicada podía entender mejor que era lo que estaba sucediendo y me refiero viéndolo desde la respectiva de una persona con autismo.

I couldn't imagine what it must have been like for many people in the 1950s to be diagnosed with autism. In the movie they tell us a bit about how Temple couldn't speak until she was 4 years old, the craziest thing was when her mother took a psychologist to find out what was happening (all this happened when she was 4 years old and hadn't spoken yet) and the doctor told the mother that she would never speak and that it was advisable for this type of person to be confined. Imagine how many people were mistakenly locked up in some psychiatric center and condemned their lives...
No podía imaginarme cómo debe haber sido para muchas personas en los años 50 ser diagnosticados con autismo. En la película nos cuentan un poco como temple no pudo hablar sino hasta los 4 años, la cosa más loca fue cuando su madre llevó a un psicólogo para saber que estaba pasando (todo esto pasó cuando ella tenía 4 años y aún no había hablado) y el doctor le dijo a la madre que ella nunca hablaría y que lo recomendable para ese tipo de personas era estar recluida. Imagínate cuántas personas fueron erróneamente encerradas en algún centro psiquiatrico y condenaron sus vidas...

Fortunately, Temple's mother ignored this recommendation, but other things she did do was send her to study and unfortunately she had bad experiences because she certainly wasn't the same as the others.
Afortunadamente la madre de Temple no hizo caso a esta recomendación pero otras cosas que si hizo fue enviarla a estudiar y lamentablemente tuvo malas experiencias porque ciertamente no era igual a los demás.

I would say that her mother was an important figure who, despite having forced Temple to study like normal people, that was what managed to open many doors for her. Besides, her mother always used to say that she was "different but not less".
Su madre yo diría que fue una importante figura que a pesar de haber obligado a temple a estudiar como las personas normales, eso fue lo que logró abrirle muchas puertas. Además su madre siempre solía decir que ella era "diferente pero no menos".

This film is truly a success story but also one of much sacrifice, of perseverance because despite the fact that most seemed to discredit Temple's intelligence, she went ahead showing that what she knew was correct, it was something that worked.
Esta película es realmente un historia de éxito pero también de mucho sacrificio, de perseverancia porque a pesar de que la mayoría parecía desprestigiar la inteligencia de Temple ella siguió adelante demostrando que lo que ella sabía, era correcto, era algo que funcionaba.

I can't tell the whole movie because it doesn't make sense, but we will see the life of this woman and her fight against an archaic system that was not prepared for people with autism. Certainly today there is more awareness, even special places to better develop the skills of these people, but all this has been achieved with efforts like Temple Grandin's.
No puedo contar toda la película porque no tiene sentido, pero veremos la vida de esta mujer y su lucha contra un sistema arcaico que no estaba preparado para las personas con autismo. Ciertamente hoy en día hay más consciencia, incluso lugares especiales para desarrollar mejor las habilidades de estas personas, pero todo esto se ha logrado con esfuerzos como el de Temple Grandin.

Hola @josehany ciertamente lo que tu dices hoy en día hay mas conciencia, sin embargo todavía existen personas capaces de maltratar a personas con discapacidad, me gustaría verla. Muy buena tu reseña.
La verdad es que todo eso viene desde la educación, muchos padres que fueron enseñados a la antigua enseñan a sus hijos así, y se crea una cadena pero pareciera que ahora los buenos somos más y poco a poco quizá vayamos logrando un cambio, ojalá no sea demasiado tarde para nosotros los humanos hasta que comprendamos
