Monster Hunter | Movie Review
I was browsing Netflix and on the cover I saw Milla Jovovich and I said I have to see this movie.
Monster Hunter actually comes from a game, I didn't know that either and I started researching the game and the movie seems faithful to the entire concept of the game but only in that aspect, I guess.
Estaba paseandome por Netflix y en la portada vi a Milla Jovovich y dije esta película tengo que verla.
Monster Hunter en realidad viene de un juego, yo tampoco sabía eso y me puse a investigar sobre el juego y la película parece fiel a todo el concepto del juego pero solo en ese tema.

This movie begins with a squad on a mission, they are in an armored vehicle and full of weapons, they are crossing a desert when a sand storm seems to hit them and the next thing is that they find themselves in a very similar place but with some changes, and it turns out that they had passed through a portal that left them in another dimension.
This squad is exploring the area in the vehicle when a man from the heights of a giant rock decides to shoot his arrow in their direction. It seems that it will be like an attack but the reality was different, it was a warning arrow for those who were waiting for them. In these sands, a monster that seemed to submerge and move through the sand as if it were water. Unfortunately the squad is captured and injured by these monsters.
Esta película empieza con un escuadrón en una misión, van en un vehículo blindado y full de armas, están atravesando un desierto cuando una tormenta de arena parece que los golpea y lo siguiente es que se encuentran en un lugar bastante parecido pero con algunos cambios, y resulta que era que habían pasado a través de un portal que los dejó en otra dimensión.
Este escuadrón van explorando la zona en el vehículo cuando un hombre desde las alturas de una roca gigante decide labzar su flecha en dirección a ellos, parece que será como un ataque pero la realidad fue otra, fue una flecha de advertencia para los que les esperaba en estas arenas, un monstruo que parecía sumergirse y desplazarse por la arena como si de agua se tratará. Lamentablemente el escuadrón resulta capturado y herido por estos monstruos.

This whole first scene is quite interesting then the story continues with Milla Jovovich as Artemis (the protagonist) along with the man who had shot the arrow who is called The Hunter, both characters speak different languages in the film so they look for creative ways to communicate
Toda esta primera escena resulta bastante interesante después la historia va continuando con Milla Jovovich como Artemis (la protagonista) junto con el hombre que había lanzado la flecha que es llamado The Hunter, ambos personajes hablan diferentes idiomas en la película así que buscan maneras creativas de comunicarse

Certainly these characters seem to be trapped in this world of monsters and their mission is now to hunt them and above all the most feared creature in the place, the Rathalos, which would be dragons.
Ciertamente estos personajes parecen estar atrapados en este mundo de monstruos y su misión es ahora cazarlos y sobretodo a la criatura más temida del lugar los Rathalos, lo que vendrían siendo unos dragones.

I think that at first it starts very well but then it slows down a bit, I also thought that Milla was already typecast in those types of roles, which I don't think is bad but I expected more from the film, something good to note are the special effects. In the end it is clear that it has a sequel but I think it was put on standby because I was investigating and there is no information about when it will be released, perhaps it is because it was not as impactful as they thought it would be
Creo que al principio empieza muy bien pero después afloja un poco, también pensé que Milla ya estaba encasillada en esos tipos de papeles, lo cual no me parece que esté mal pero esperaba más de la película, algo bueno a rescatar son los efectos especiales. Al final se nota claramente de que tiene una continuación pero creo que quedó en stand by porque estuve investigando y no se tiene información de cuando será lanzada, quizá es porque no fue tan impactante como pensaron que sería
Esta es mi película favorita sobre monstruos me encanta como esta actriz interpreta este papel de una manera increíble aunque de momento pareciera como si se mezclara con resident evil.
Es lo que también pensé, y por eso también hice el comentario de que siento que ya se ha encasillado en ese tema. Pero si así es la película el juego debe ser muy bueno. Lo tengo en mi lista, jajaja. En algún momento tendré una PC gamer y también un PS4 o 5
So much potential and money wasted on this movie.
At least someone else share my opinion.
