El argumento de este filme se trata de un chico que pierde a su madre en un gran incendio a causa de una bomba. La guerra ha cambiado muchas cosas y Mahito se estremece ante la pesadilla llena de fuego. Análisis del Filme
Esta es de esas producciones que comienzan de una manera vertiginosa para conocer el contexto. Lo primero que podemos notar como espectadores es su calidad visual impresionante, en un mundo en donde las compañías apuestan a la animación 3D, esta producción se basa en un estilo tradicional, pero que se mezcla muy bien con técnicas actuales. Sin dudas, el aspecto visual es una de las grandes virtudes de esta película, llena de colores y con un enfoque naturalista que tanto nos tiene acostumbrados Miyazaki.

Pérdida y Duelo
El filme se estructura alrededor del duelo de Mahito ocasionado por la pérdida de su madre, el desarrollo de este personaje en las distintas etapas del filme sobre este aspecto, es impresionante, conmovedor, reflexivo y sutilmente nos trae esperanza y alegría por seguir viviendo y disfrutar de cada minuto en un mundo, que si bien está lleno de imperfecciones, es maravilloso.
A pesar de que podemos notar un enfoque claro hacia el duelo a una temprana edad y como un niño puede incluso desear otra realidad en su mente para escapar del sufrimiento, podemos observar que más allá de este contexto, podemos encontrar mensajes para cada uno de nosotros, ya que todos tenemos cicatrices, así como Mahito.

Esta producción nos recuerda sutilmente que estamos en navegando en las aguas del tiempo y que el ciclo de la vida llega a su fin con la muerte, el respeto a la muerte como parte de la vida es una reflexión confusa, pero que observamos que se demuestra en la naturaleza, cuando otros seres vivos deben morir para que otros puedan vivir. El respeto hacia la muerte y este siclo infinito en que estamos es nuevamente una referencia de Miyazaki en su trabajo.
Interpretaciones.
Algo que me encanta de esta película es que como espectadores tenemos la libertad de interpretar esta producción, tal como si se tratase de una pintura en un museo, ¿que sientes cuando la vez?, ¿qué crees que significan sus líneas?, así pasa en este filme lleno de mensajes que se entrelazan y que nos otorgan muchos mensajes relevantes, aspectos ocultos que inclusive se le pueden encontrar similitudes a la vida y trabajo de Miyazaki en torno a su retiro, además de encontrar mucho simbolismo oriental.

Este es un filme que podemos estudiar a detalle. Podremos ver varias veces y encontrar en cada ocasión un nuevo punto de vista en diversos aspectos e incluso nuevos mensajes que se muestran entre líneas. Eso me agrada de este tipo de filmes y seguramente a muchos les pasará lo mismo.

Esta es una muy linda película con una narrativa que, si bien es algo abstracta, es fácil comprender los diversos mensajes que nos quiere transmitir Miyazaki en la que posiblemente puede ser su última producción. A pesar de que gran parte de los mensajes están claros, unir las piezas, encontrar el simbolismo y crear nuestras propias interpretaciones basados en nuestras propias vidas, le otorga un sentido especial al filme, haciendo que sea una experiencia tanto entretenida, como motivadora y reflexiva al mismo tiempo.

The first thing we can notice as viewers is its impressive visual quality, in a world where companies are betting on 3D animation, this production is based on a traditional style, but mixed very well with current techniques. Undoubtedly, the visual aspect is one of the great virtues of this film, full of colours and with a naturalistic approach that Miyazaki has us so used to.

Loss and Mourning
The film is structured around Mahito's grief caused by the loss of his mother, the development of this character in the different stages of the film on this aspect, is impressive, touching, reflective and subtly brings us hope and joy to continue living and enjoying every minute in a world, which although full of imperfections, is wonderful.
Although we can notice a clear focus on grief at a young age and how a child may even wish for another reality in his mind to escape suffering, we can see that beyond this context, we can find messages for each of us, as we all have scars, just like Mahito.

Hace poco vi esta película y, como fanático del grandioso trabajo de Miyasaki, fue una maravilla audiovisual esta película. Esa mezcla de nostalgia al mantener un estilo de dibujo que lo caracterizó desde hace más de veinte años (llevando consigo toda una generación que vio las maravillosas películas de los Studios Ghibli) y a la vez dejarnos pensando en las diferentes referencias, simbolismos y significados que tiene cada escena, cada personaje y cada lugar.
Solo el gran Miyasaki puede conseguir algo tan complejamente significativo en una simple película animada con una historia que inspira y te llena el alma.

The animation is incredible too, nobody else puts out work quite like Ghibli can, especially these days with more reliance on digital. It's just refreshing to see the art still done in a traditional and truly cared for manner.
