Oloture - The Journey

The time I heard this movie was out last year on cinema.
I was patiently waiting for when it could be available for download, and then I magically forgot about it.

I just remembered it of recent and was able to smoothly download it.

The Journey is the continuation and season two of Oloture.

After watching this movie, I could say it gave me the impression that squid game season 2 gave me, but much better compared to squid game.

The truth is I expected so much from this movie, but they indeed tried.
They even made it easier not to have a negative rating by tagging it "the Journey".

The season one of Oloture is topnotch with a great storyline.

The scenes I feel were not so cool are :

First - Andrew's death : Yes, I know they stepped on him beating him badly when they were robbed, but what about Ehi and Peju.

They were involved in a brutal accident that involved gunshots, and the car glass windows broke and gave them injuries.
They survived it.

Ehi was drugged to weaken her, but she was strong enough to escape and run.

Ben was also badly beaten with sticks and wips before he was released.

Why did just a beating weaken Andrew so much that he couldn't fight it any longer and died in the desert?

I felt bad for Andrew, but it is what it is.

Second - Ade died so easily too, as someone who knew he was dealing with dangerous assignments and people.
I thought he could have been more careful.

Well, his death didn't pain me.
Because he is a bad guy.

Third - Beauty, after all she saw and went through, went back to do olosho(prostitution).

I was so angry to see her go back to that life, it made me feel so bad for Ehi for sacrificing herself to help her escape.

Though, if she didn't escape, she could have died during the journey.

I so much love how strong Ehi was able to go through the journey, her saving grace is mighty.

People who travel out of the country illegally go through a lot.

It's really not an easy journey, it is very dangerous and should be avoided.

Everybody wants to take advantage of you, and you are at the peak of death.

Most people know this but still embark on the journey.

I hope and pray, Ehi, Peju and Ben survives the journey to tell the full story as we await the season 3 of the movie.
Because this can't be the end.

Overall, the movie is so interesting.

I rate it 7/10.
That's an A grade, right?
