Midnight Mass

Hello dear friends and lovers of movies and tv series!. Yes, again I watched a horror series on Netflix and in fact I have discovered that the same actors appear over and over again in the last ones I have watched, which are The Curse of Bill House, and the Curse of Bly Manor, in fact now that I have watched Midnight Mass I have started with The Fall of the House of Usher and yes, several actors repeat over and over again, but I like it, it seems to be the perfect horror cast. My lovely wife has had no choice but to join me, because I always need her to get to the end so I can squeeze her hand in scenes of great suspense 🤣

Sí, nuevamente vi una serie de horror en Netflix y de hecho he descubierto que los mismos actores aparecen una y otra vez en las últimas que he visto, las cuales son La Maldición de Bill House, y la Maldición de Bly Manor, de hecho ahora que he visto Misa de Media Noche he comenzado con La Caída de la Casa de Usher y sí, varios actores repiten una y otra vez, pero me gusta, parece ser el elenco terrorífico perfecto. Mi adorada esposa no ha tenido más opciones que acompañarme, porque siempre la necesito para llegar hasta el final y poder apretar su mano en escenas de gran suspenso 🤣

It is a vampire story, although that word is never used, at least in the Spanish version. An old priest is attacked by a large monster that feeds on blood. The critter has bat wings, but the priest mistakes it for an angel, based on the same scriptures in the bible. So it all begins, this man comes back to life as a young man and pretends to save the rest of the town through the word of God and by performing a couple of miracles (miracles in the eyes of the people). But as always, a religious fanatic added fuel to the fire, always using the word of God to carry out her evil and ambitious plans.

En sí es una historia de vampiros, aunque nunca se usa esa palabra, al menos en la versión en español latino. Un viejo sacerdote es atacado por un gran monstro que se alimenta de sangre. El bicho tiene alas de murciélago, pero el cura lo confunde con un ángel, basado en las mismas escrituras de la biblia. Así comienza todo, este hombre regresa a la vida siendo joven y pretende salvar al resto del pueblo a través de la palabra de Dios y haciendo un par de milagros (milagros ante los ojos de la gente). Pero como siempre, una fanática religiosa le echó más leña al fuego, y siempre usando la palabra de Dios para llevar a cabo sus malévolos y ambiciosos planes.

In Misa de Medianoche you will not find huge scares, in my opinion they are quite sporadic, as they did a good job in the script development and emphasis on wanting to surprise the viewer with each mystery that is uncovered. There are only 7 chapters, so it's a miniseries, it doesn't slow down as much as a movie, nor does it become a drag like the long series, there is enough time to develop the plot and leave us satisfied. I still don't know how the townspeople didn't suspect certain miracles that were happening, moreover, since no one thought it was strange that the mass was taking place in the middle of the night, this gives me pause for thought.

En Misa de Medianoche no se encontrarán con sustos descomunales, en mi opinión son bastante esporádicos, ya que hicieron un buen trabajo en la elaboración del guion y énfasis en querer sorprender al televidente con cada misterio que se va destapando. Solo son 7 capítulos, así que es una miniserie, no reducen tanto como una película, ni se vuelve un fastidio como las largas series, hay tiempo suficiente para desarrollar la trama y dejarnos satisfechos. Sigo sin saber cómo la gente del pueblo no sospechaba de ciertos milagros que estaban ocurriendo, es más, como a nadie le parecía raro que la misa se estaba llevando a cabo a media noche, esto me pone a reflexionar.

I am Catholic, a believer and I go to mass quite often since I was a child, but since I am with my girl I have seen a little more clearly certain things that happen in the church, or rather, the people in the church... These people in the series were easily fooled and ended up committing suicide and murdering their family members in the name of God in a very grotesque scene in the sixth episode. Could something like that happen in real life. I think so, because it has already happened that a leader manages to manipulate dozens of people in the name of God, and that in real life did not happen the "miracles" that can be seen in this series. It is good to know about God, his word and what the different religions say, but we must have our own criteria in order not to let ourselves be carried away by false prophets. In fact, I think there are many bad people in the churches of any religion.

Yo soy católico, creyente y voy bastante seguido a misa desde niño, pero desde que estoy con mi chica he visto con un poco más de claridad ciertas cosas que ocurren en la iglesia, o mejor dicho, la gente de la iglesia... Estas personas de la serie fueron fácilmente engañados y terminaron suicidándose y asesinando a sus familiares en nombre de Dios en una escena muy grotesca del sexto episodio. ¿Podría pasar algo así en la vida real?. Pienso que sí, porque ya ha ocurrido que un líder logra manipular a docenas de personas en nombre de Dios, y eso que en la vida real no ocurrieron los "milagros" que pueden verse en esta serie. Está bien conocer de Dios, su palabra y lo que dicen las distintas religiones, pero hay que tener un criterio propio para no dejarnos llevar por falsos profetas. De hecho, opino que hay mucha gente mala en las iglesias de cualquier religión.

Do I recommend this series, of course I do. For fans of horror stories or fans of vampires, I think you will like it a lot. The script is well handled and the scenery is wonderful. You will find in it too much catholic content, and this could affect some believers, so it is not recommended for everyone, only for those who can separate a good horror story from reality, because in the end that is what it is, a vampire story set in the catholic church, I never thought I would see something like that, and I loved it... I don't know if you have already seen it, if so tell me your impressions. There is something I didn't understand or I missed, and that is that at the beginning the priest gave mass in the daytime and was not affected by the sunlight, and suddenly everything was at midnight 🤔

¿Que si recomiendo esta serie?, por supuesto que sí. Para los seguidores de historias de terror o los fans de los vampiros, me parece que les agradará mucho. Está bien llevado el guion y los escenarios son maravillosos. Encontrarán en ella demasiado contenido católico, y esto podría afectar a algunas personas creyentes, así que no es recomendable para todos, solo para quienes puedan separar una buena historia de terror de la realidad, porque al final eso es lo que es, una historia de vampiros colada en la iglesia católica, jamás pensé ver algo así, y a mí me encantó... No sé si ustedes ya la vieron, de ser así cuéntenme sus impresiones. Hay algo que no entendí o me perdí, y es que al inicio el sacerdote daba la misa en el día y no le afectaba la luz solar, y de pronto ya todo era a media noche 🤔
