A Perfect Revenge | Eng-Esp | Una Venganza Perfecta

Netflix recently uploaded a 2015 movie that I didn't even know existed, let alone thought I could watch it and fall in love with it. It is The Dressmaker, or El Poder de la Moda, as it is known in Latin America. What caught my attention from the very first moment was to see the iconic actress Kate Winslet on the cover of the main image, besides looking as beautiful as ever. After being convinced and invited by her trajectory I set out to see it with my girl and thought I would not like it when I realized it was a period film and the very bad introductory narration in Spanish, but little by little everything got better...

Netflix subió hace poco una película de 2015 que no sabía que existía, y mucho menos pensé que podría verla y enamorarme de ella. Se trata de The Dressmaker, o El Poder de la Moda, como se le conoce en Latinoamérica. Lo que me ha llamado la atención desde el primer momento fue ver en la portada de la imagen principal a la icónica actriz Kate Winslet, además de lucir tan hermosa como siempre. Luego de ser convencido e invitada por su trayectoria me dispuse a verla con mi chica y pensé que no me gustaría al darme cuenta de que era una película de época y la malísima narración introductoria en español, pero poco a poco todo fue mejorando...

In short, it's about a woman who has made it big in Paris, in the fashion world, but returns to her hometown in Australia with the intention of meeting her ailing elderly mother and confronting issues from her childhood, strong issues in my opinion. I love the idea of seeing someone return to their homeland with a great deal of awe, especially when they had to leave in abstract ways in the past as in the case of the protagonist. Despite the power of the character and the way she was seen in the tiny town, she told herself she was cursed, in fact the whole town, including herself is treated as a murderer at the beginning.

En resumen, se trata de una mujer que ha triunfado en París, en el mundo de la moda, pero regresa a su pueblo natal en Australia con la intención de encontrarse con su anciana madre enferma y enfrentar asuntos de su niñez, asuntos fuertes en mi opinión. Me encanta la idea de ver a alguien regresar a su tierra con mucha imponencia, sobre todo cuando tuvo que irse de maneras abstractas en el pasado como en el caso de la protagonista. A pesar del poder del personaje y la manera en que la veían en el diminuto pueblo, ella se decía así mismo que estaba maldita, de hecho todo el pueblo, incluso ella misma se trata de asesina al inicio.

At the time I didn't understand why she said that, or maybe I did, but it seemed extravagant, but I never imagined what would come next, seriously I thought she was cursed 😅 when you read the title of this movie, in whatever language, you never imagine that there would be so many deaths in the plot, but so it was, this woman came to town to see people she loved die and others, but always around her in the eyes of her neighbors in one way or another, I came to feel sorry for her; in fact it seemed to me a very cruel film and awakened my thirst for justice...

En su momento no entendí por qué ella decía eso, o quizás sí, pero me pareció extravagante, pero jamás imaginé lo que vendría después, en serio me pareció que sí estaba maldita 😅 cuando lees el título de esta película, en el idioma que sea, jamás imaginas que habría tantas muertes en la trama, pero así fue, esta mujer llegó al pueblo para ver morir a gente amada y otros más, pero siempre en torno a ella ante los ojos de sus vecinos de una u otra manera, llegué a sentir pena por ella; de hecho me pareció una película muy cruel y despertó mi sed de justicia...

I don't like revenge, it's a very ugly feeling, but I am a supporter of justice, and sometimes there is a very short line between both things. In this case wow it is a real revenge, well planned and with evil, but wow it made me feel really good 🤣 in one well structured act she took revenge on all the people who hurt her and her loved ones, and she left town victorious and dressed to the forefront, all a diva who has already finished what she came to do and ready to leave the past behind and start anew.Is it a good message? I don't think so, I will never support a crime. Do I recommend this movie? Totally, I didn't find it boring and wow many scenes left me surprised, you never know where it's going; the only thing I don't understand about this plot is how it took so long to come into my life?

No me gusta la venganza, es un sentimiento muy feo, pero sí soy partidario de la justicia, y a veces hay una línea muy corta entre ambas cosas. En esta caso vaya que sí es una venganza real, bien planificada y con maldad, pero vaya que me hizo sentir muy bien 🤣 en un solo acto bien estructurado se vengó de todas las personas que le hicieron daño a ella y sus seres amados, y se fue del pueblo victoriosa y vistiendo a la vanguardia, toda una diva que ya ha terminado lo que vino a hacer y dispuesta a dejar el pasado atrás y comenzar de nuevo. ¿Es un buen mensaje? No lo creo, jamás apoyaré un delito. ¿Recomiendo esta película? Totalmente, no me pareció aburrida y vaya que muchas escenas me dejaron sorprendido, nunca sabes hacia donde va; lo único que no entiendo de este argumento es cómo tardó tanto en llegar a mi vida...
