Hello everyone dear Movies and TV Shows community, I hope you are doing great... this time I am in the mood to tell you my opinions about a well known animated movie that was a box office success and that many children and adults loved, a few days ago I watched again The Super Mario Bros. Movie with my nephew... so today I want to talk a little bit about it and what I think about it. This movie is one of those that can leave you with a silly smile on your face, I was always a fan of video games... something I did do as a kid was to play a lot of Mario games, I think if you, like me, are a fan of video games of this classic character or even if you have only played one and are not a devoted fan, I think this movie feels very unique, fun and able to charm many people.

I think that it both traces and shows everything that Mario represents... this movie works and at the same time stumbles a bit, going into a bit more detail, the animation is amazing... I guess many will have noticed that it is not poor animation, but on the contrary... I feel that Illumination really outdid themselves here... every world, from the green meadows of the mushroom kingdom to the chaotic and lava filled guard of Bowser, everything feels alive and fantastic, I love that everything is meticulously detailed, it's like the games have really come to life, imbuing it with significant visual enhancement...I'm talking about textures so rich you'd think you could actually reach out and grab a power up. I unfortunately didn't see this movie in the theater, but watching it one more time at home, I really regret not giving it a chance... I think the experience would have been amazing... one of my favorite parts was the sequence on the Rainbow Road, I thought it was absolute cinema, it's one of those moments where you just marvel at what's happening on screen.

Honestly, the animation alone makes this movie worth watching, but now let's talk about the story... is it revolutionary? No, but does it really need to be? I don't think so. This is Mario we're talking about... the plot follows the classic formula, Mario versus Bowser, to save his princess, or in this case, join her, and sprinkle in a little brotherly love with Luigi... it's kind of simple, yet straightforward, but really it's just what it should have been. Sure, there are no surprising plot twists, but the charm lies in its simplicity, it's like comfort food for the soul... you know what's going to happen, but you're still excited to see how it all plays out.

Hola a todos querida comunidad de Movies and TV Shows, espero que estén súper bien.. en esta ocasión tengo con ánimos de contarles mis opiniones sobre una película animada bastante conocida que fue todo un éxito taquillero y que encantó a muchos pequeños y adultos, hace unos días volví a ver la película de The Super Mario Bros. Movie con mi sobrino.. así que hoy les quiero hablar un poco de ella y de lo que yo pienso. Esta película es de aquellas que pueden dejarte una sonrisa tonta en la cara, yo siempre fui fanático de los videojuegos.. algo que sí hice de pequeño fue jugar a muchos juegos de Mario, creo que si tú, al igual que yo, eres fanático de los videojuegos de este clásico personaje o incluso si solo has jugado uno y no eres un fan devoto, creo que de igual manera esta película se siente muy única, divertida y capaz de encantar a muchas personas.

Pienso que calca y muestra todo lo que Mario representa.. esta película funciona y a la vez tropieza un poco, entrando un poco en detalle, la animación es increíble.. supongo que muchos habrán notado que no es una animación pobre, sino que al contrario.. yo siento que Illumination realmente se superó aquí.. cada mundo, desde las verdes praderas del reino champiñón hasta la caótica y llena de lava guardia de Bowser, todo se siente vivo y fantástico, me encanta que todo esté meticulosamente detallado, es como si los juegos hubieran realmente cobrado vida, impregnándole una mejora visual significativa.. estoy hablando de unas texturas tan ricas que pensarías que realmente podrías alcanzar y tomar un potenciador. Yo esta película lamentablemente no la vi en el cine, pero viéndola una vez más en mi casa, me arrepiento mucho de no haberle dado la oportunidad.. creo que la experiencia fuera sido increíble.. una de mis partes favoritas fue la secuencia en el Rainbow Road, me pareció absoluto cine, es uno de esos momentos en los que simplemente te maravillas de lo que está sucediendo en pantalla.

Honestamente, la animación por sí sola hace que valga la pena ver esta película, pero ahora hablemos de la historia.. ss revolucionaria? No, pero ¿en verdad necesita serlo? Yo creo que no. Estamos hablando de Mario.. la trama sigue la fórmula clásica, Mario contra Bowser, para salvar a su princesa, o en este caso, unirse a ella, y salpicar un poco de amor fraternal con Luigi.. es algo simple, y a la vez es directo, pero realmente es justo lo que tendría que haber sido. Claro, no hay giros argumentales sorprendentes, pero el encanto radica en su simplicidad, es como una comida reconfortante para el alma.. sabes lo que va a pasar, pero aún así estás emocionado de ver cómo transcurre todo.

One thing I didn't expect was the depth they gave Bowser...here in this movie he's not just the big bad dinosaur-turtle we've known for years, but he has a slightly different personality and an almost tragic side, he's a villain with a heart, in a way. His obsession with Princess Peach comes across as both menacing and oddly understandable.. and let's face it, Jack Black absolutely nails it as Bowser, his voice work brings a perfect blend of menace and humor.. that musical number is so great it makes everyone burst out laughing, I'm sure you guys will know what it is.. it's the kind of performance that stays with you, I really liked that he gave all that unique energy to this character that had been renegade for some time.

And talking a bit more about the characters, you have to give a big shout out to Princess Peach, here in this movie she's not just a damsel in distress, she's also a full on action heroine... seeing her take charge and fight Bowser was very refreshing, Anna Taylor-Joy's voice work on this character gives her a very charismatic touch. . making her one of the most outstanding characters of the whole movie.. and yes, if you are wondering, I saw this movie in the original language with Spanish subtitles.. that's why I recognize the voice actors perfectly. Luigi, on the other hand, I feel he was a little bit left behind.. although it is true that those moments with Mario, especially towards the end of the movie, can really touch your heartstrings.. but I would like to have seen him a little bit more.

And now, we have to talk about something that I didn't like at all, and that's the dubbing of Mario, in his original version... I'll be honest, it took me some time to get used to Chris Pratt's Mario, he's not bad, but I don't know, he feels very different... I guess we are so used to hear him with his original voice... and anything else feels a bit strange, I feel Pratt's version is more subdued and neutral.. which works in some scenes, but feels a bit flat in others, obviously not a deciding factor, but I think it's something that annoyed, in a way, the more active fans of this character. For, while it wasn't necessary for the lead actor to return for the film, it would have been interesting to see as a closer approximation of what Mario's voice was like in the video games.

Algo que no esperaba fue la profundidad que le dieron a Bowser.. aquí en esta película no es solo el gran y malo dinosaurio-tortuga que hemos conocido durante años, sino que tiene una personalidad algo distinta y un lado casi trágico, es un villano con corazón, en cierto modo. Su obsesión con la princesa Peach resulta tanto amenazante como curiosamente comprensible.. y seamos realistas, Jack Black lo clava absolutamente como Bowser, su trabajo de voz aporta una mezcla perfecta de amenaza y humor.. ese número musical es tan genial que hace que todos estallen a carcajadas, estoy seguro que ustedes sabrán cuál es.. es el tipo de actuación que se queda contigo, me gustó mucho que le diera toda esa energía única a este personaje que había estado renegado por cierto tiempo.

Y hablando un poco más de los personajes, hay que darle un gran aplauso a la princesa Peach, aquí en esta película no es solo una damisela en apuros, sino que también es una heroína de acción completa.. verla tomar el mando y pelear contra Bowser fue muy refrescante, el trabajo de voz de Anna Taylor-Joy en este personaje le da un toque muy carismático.. convirtiéndola en uno de los personajes más destacados de toda la película.. y sí, si se lo están preguntando, yo vi esta película en idioma original con subtítulos en español.. por eso reconozco perfectamente los actores de doblaje. Luigi, por otro lado, siento que quedó un poco relegado.. aunque sí es verdad que esos momentos con Mario, especialmente llegando al final de la película, realmente pueden tocar fibras de tu corazón.. pero me gustaría haberlo visto un poco más.

Y ahora, hay que hablar de algo que a mí no me gustó del todo, y ese es el doblaje de Mario, en su versión original.. seré honesto, me tomó cierto tiempo acostumbrarme al Mario de Chris Pratt, no es malo, pero no sé, se siente muy diferente.. supongo que estamos muy acostumbrados a oírlo con su voz original.. y cualquier otra cosa se siente algo extraña, siento que la versión de Pratt es más moderada y neutra.. lo cual funciona en algunas escenas, pero se siente un poco plana en otras, obviamente no es un factor decisivo, pero creo que es algo que molestó, de cierta manera, a los fanáticos más activos de este personaje. Ya que, si bien no era necesario que el actor principal volviera para la película, hubiera sido interesante ver como una aproximación más cercana a lo que era la voz de Mario en los videojuegos.

I'd also like to talk about the Easter Eggs.. this movie is full of references to games, from the more iconic sound effects to subtle nods like Jumpman's arcade machine.... all this stuff is obviously cute stuff, dedicated to the fans, I found myself pointing at the screen how in that Leonardo Dicaprio meme every five minutes, I think the Mario Kart segment was my favorite.. it's pure fanservice in the best possible sense, it's like they knew exactly what we wanted to see and delivered it with a big pixelated bow...

But not everything is perfect... i consider this movie to have its flaws too, the pacing can feel a bit rushed at times, especially in the second act.. it's like they want to cram in as many references and scenarios as possible, which is great in a way, but it doesn't leave much room for the story to breathe and feel coherent. . also, some of the jokes don't quite work, although there are some laugh out loud moments, some other jokes feel a bit forced or out of place, I found myself looking at my nephew with a face like: this isn't funny... but still, I feel like the good far outweighs the bad. This movie obviously isn't trying to reinvent the entire animation genre, but is simply here to celebrate everything we love about Mario, and in that sense, it's a resounding success.. it's the kind of movie that makes you want to dust off your old console and play all your games again.

También me gustaría hablar de los Easter Eggs.. esta película está llena de referencias a los juegos, desde los efectos de sonidos más icónicos hasta guiños sutiles como la máquina arcade de Jumpman.. todas estas cosas, obviamente, es algo muy lindo, dedicado a los fanáticos, me encontré señalando en la pantalla cómo en ese meme de Leonardo Dicaprio cada cinco minutos, creo que el segmento de Mario Kart fue mi favorito.. es fanservice puro en el mejor sentido posible, es como si supieran exactamente lo que queríamos ver y lo entregaron con un gran lazo pixelado..

Pero no todo es perfecto.. considero que esta película tiene también sus fallos, el ritmo puede sentirse un poco apresurado a veces, especialmente en el segundo acto.. es como si quisieran meter tantas referencias y escenarios como fuera posible, lo cual es genial de cierto modo, pero no deja mucho espacio para que la historia respire y se sienta coherente.. además, algunos de los chistes no terminan de funcionar, aunque hay momentos de carcajadas, algunos otros chistes se sienten un poco forzados o fuera de lugar, me encontré mirando a mi sobrino con cara de: esto no da risa.. pero bueno, aun así, siento que lo bueno supera con creces lo malo. Esta película obviamente no está tratando de reinventar todo el género de animación, sino que simplemente está aquí para celebrar todo lo que amamos de Mario, y en ese sentido, es un éxito rotundo.. es el tipo de película que te hace querer desempolvar tu vieja consola y volver a jugar todos tus juegos.

So, would I recommend Super Mario Bros? Yes, absolutely...whether you're a very intense video game fan, or just someone who wants to watch a fun, family movie...well, this movie delivers on that front. It's visually stunning, has a lot of heart, and is full of nostalgia, it's not perfect, but it's a delight from start to finish, and I consider it one of the best video game adaptations I've seen on film...if I had to rate it, I'd give it a good score of 8.5/10, it's not my favorite animated film, but it's certainly very entertaining. I hope this is the beginning of a new era for Nintendo on the big screen, and that they bring us many more video game projects, can you imagine a The Legend of Zelda movie with this level of care and detail? Es visualmente impresionante, tiene mucho corazón, y está llena de nostalgia, no es perfecta, pero es un deleite de principio a fin, y la considero una de las mejores adaptaciones de videojuegos que he visto en el cine.. si tuviera que calificarla, le daría un buen puntaje de 8.5/10, no es mi película animada favorita, pero sin duda es muy entretenida. Espero que sea el comienzo de una nueva era para Nintendo en la gran pantalla, y que nos traigan muchos más proyectos de videojuegos. ¿Se imaginan una película de The Legend of Zelda con este nivel de cuidado y detalle?
