Hello everyone! Dear Movies and TV Shows community. I hope you are having a great day, I want to share with you today a review of a movie from last year that was a surprise for many. I didn't see it in theaters, but after watching it at home, I regretted not being able to enjoy it on the big screen, because it was worth it... I'm talking about the movie: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. And well, I've never considered myself a loyal fan of these characters... But without a doubt this movie was an explosion of fun, nostalgia that reminded me why these four brothers are so entertaining. The visual style is amazing, it takes the aesthetics of the comics, and takes it to the next level.... The strokes seem to be hand drawn, as if you are literally seeing artist's sketches come to life...

It's actually very enjoyable to watch, which immerses you in a chaotic and energetic New York in a good way. The animation is always fluid and dynamic, especially in the action scenes, which are very well drawn... And of course, it's always nice to see how fun the personalities of the turtles can be, finally we have some versions that really feel like teenagers.... They're awkward, insecure and trying to find their place, wanting to fit in and get out into the world. Mind you, they are so impatient that they confuse each other, and constantly interrupt each other...all talking at the same time, just like siblings would. It's refreshing to see this new version, these guys really do look like brothers....

Hola a todos! Querida comunidad de Movies and TV Shows. Espero que estén teniendo un muy buen día, quiero compartirles el día de hoy una reseña de una película del año pasado que fue una sorpresa para muchos. Yo no la ví en cines, pero luego de verla en mi casa, me arrepentí mucho de no poder disfrutarla en pantalla grande, ya que fuera válido mucho la pena.. les estoy hablando de la película: Teenage Mutante Ninja Turtles: Mutante Mayhem. Y bueno, yo nunca me he considerado un fiel fanático de estos personajes.. Pero sin duda está película fue una explosión de diversión, nostalgia que me recordó porque estos cuatro hermanos son tan entretenidos. El estilo visual es increíble, toma la estética de los cómics, y la lleva al siguiente nivel.. Los trazos parecen estar hechos a mano, como si estuvieras viendo literalmente bocetos de un artista cobrando vida..

Es realmente muy disfrutable de ver, que te sumerge de buena manera a un New York caótico y lleno de energía. La animación siempre es fluida y dinámica, especialmente en las escenas de acción, están muy bien dibujadas.. Y claro, siempre es bueno ver lo divertidas que pueden ser las personalidades de las tortugas, por fin tenemos unas versiones que se sienten realmente como adolescentes.. Son torpes, inseguros y están tratando de encontrar su lugar, queriendo encajar y salir al mundo. Eso sí, son tan impacientes que se confunden entre si, y se interrumpen constantemente.. todos hablando al mismo tiempo, justo como lo harían unos hermanos. Es refrescante ver esta nueva versión, estos chicos realmente parecen hermanos..

The plot is quite simple, but very effective. It's an origin story that shows us how these turtles go from being outcasts in the sewers to heroes. They want to go out into the world, they want to be a part of it and enjoy it. The villain has a pretty clear motivation, although it's not very deep... but I guess they're not trying to be too serious or complicated here, it's an animated movie that entertains you and offers you very funny scenes. It's not a narrative masterpiece, it's just a smooth ride to pass the time.

It touches on themes like acceptance and a sense of belonging, these kids just want to fit in, and be part of the big world they have seen from the gutter...this feeling of an outcast who wants to come out of his shell and be accepted, is something some can relate to, both teenagers and some adults.... It's a universal message wrapped in a very good layer of humor and action. The film has some very interesting pop culture references and jokes related to nerdy or geeky things. It's very interesting to see how it feels like they live in the present day.

La trama es bastante sencilla, pero muy efectiva. Es una historia de origen que nos muestran como estás tortugas pasan de ser unos marginados de las alcantarillas, a ser unos héroes. Ellos quieren salir al mundo, quieren ser parte de él y disfrutarlo.. El villano tiene una motivación bastante clara, aunque no es muy profunda.. pero supongo que no tratan de aquí de ser demasiado serios o complicados, es una película animada que te divierte y te ofrece escenas muy divertidas. No es una obra de arte narrativa, solo es un viaje tranquilo para pasar el rato.

Se abordan tema como la aceptación y el sentido de pertenencia, estos chicos solo quieren encajar, y ser parte del gran mundo que han visto desde las alcantarillas.. este sentimiento de marginado que quiere salir de su caparazón y ser aceptado, es algo con lo que algunos se pueden identificar, tanto adolescentes como algunos adultos.. Es un mensaje universal envuelto en una muy buena capa de humor y acción. La película tiene unas referencias muy interesantes a la cultura pop y chistes relacionados con cosas nerds o geeks. Es muy interesante ver cómo se siente que ellos viven en la actualidad.

The soundtrack is also great! Hip hop and rap give the movie an urban energy that fits perfectly with the aesthetics and atmosphere of the animation. The rhythm of the songs are very catchy... Sadly though, it's not perfect, although the personalities of the brothers are fun, it doesn't go much deeper into them beyond their basic concepts of the leader, the nerd, the joker and the badass... We don't see more depth in their thoughts, I would have liked a little more development in this aspect, having the time to be able to connect with them individually.

Also, some characters and villains feel wasted... they have some interesting designs, but don't get the screen time they need to shine as they should... Among the most controversial decisions of this movie, was the redesign of April O'neil, personally I didn't dislike it at all... it feels something new, but at the same time, it seems that it will be missing something more, although it did make me laugh in some occasions, however, I don't think this fact should be the main reason to not watch this movie, that would seem pretty stupid to me.

Something that I found hard to digest was the change in Splinter, the turtles' father, although he is very affectionate and protective with them, I think that at least with this character they should not have ridiculed him so much, because although it is normal some funny scenes, he has always been very wise and serious... and I think it was a change that I did not like very much, I would have liked to see him more focused and less directed to be funny.

La banda sonora también es genial! El hip hop y el rap le dan a la película una energía urbana que encaja perfectamente con la estética y el ambiente de la animación. El ritmo de las canciones son muy pegadizos.. Aunque lastimosamente no es perfecta, aunque las personalidades de los hermanos son divertidas, no se profundiza mucho en ellas más allá de sus conceptos básicos del líder, el nerd, el chistoso y el rudo.. No vemos mas profundidad en sus pensamientos, me hubiera gustado un poco más de desarrollo en este aspecto, tener el tiempo de poder conectar con ellos individualmente.

Además, algunos personajes y villanos se sienten desperdiciados.. tienen unos diseños interesantes, pero no tienen el tiempo necesario en pantalla para brillar como es debido.. Entre las decisiones más controvertidas de esta película, fue el rediseño de April O'neil, esto personalmente no me desagrado del todo.. se siente algo nuevo, pero a la vez, parece que la faltará algo más, aunque si me hizo reír en algunas ocasiones, sin embargo, no creo que este hecho debería ser la principal razón para no ver esta película, eso si me parecería bastante estúpido.

Algo que si me costó digerir fue el cambio en Splinter, el papá de las tortugas, aunque si es súper cariñoso y protector con ellas, creo que al menos con este personaje no debieron ridiculizarlo tanto, ya que aunque si es normal alguna que otra escena chistosa, el siempre ha sido muy sabio y serio.. y creo que fue un cambio que no me gustó mucho, me fuera gustado verlo más enfocado y menos dirigido a dar gracia.

The movie is not afraid to show the stranger side of the turtles... there are moments that may seem a little disturbing, but it's nothing too extreme, although it may be strange for some children, and well that's normal, when we talk about genetically mutated animals. It has a good balance between fun for the whole family and the more bizarre, mutant, and grim spirit of the original comics. I think it's a fresh and necessary reinvention of a franchise that may have had so many adaptations that many may be familiar with and feel bored with always the same dynamic.

It's not perfect, but I'm sure that the most attached fans of these stories will surely like it, it's an excellent introduction for all the new generations that didn't know this group of masked ninjas. I encourage you to watch it, with an open mind, on a Sunday afternoon, with the family or with the little ones... if you have never been very close to the franchise, maybe this is something new and interesting that might catch your attention, without the need for dark or very complicated plots to make it seem like a more "adult" product. It's fun, it has heart and it certainly left me wanting to see more of these characters...I give it a 9.3/10.

It balances the classic with innovation very well. It gives you a familiar experience and at the same time something that feels new, and even more so with such cool animation that is clearly inspired by the animation seen in Spider-Man: A Cross The Spiderverse. La película no tiene miedo en mostrar el lado más extraño de las tortugas.. hay momentos que pueden parecer un poco perturbadores, pero no es nada demasiado extremo, aunque si puede ser extraño para algunos niños, y bueno es normal, cuando hablamos de animales mutados genéticamente. Tiene un buen equilibrio entre diversión para toda la familia y el espíritu más extraño, mutante, y sombrío de los cómics originales. Creo que es una reinvención fresca y necesaria, de una franquicia que tal vez ha tenido tantas adaptaciones que puede ser muchos conozcan y se sienten aburridas con siempre la misma dinámica.

No es perfecta, pero estoy seguro que a los fans más apegados de estas historias seguro les agradará, es una excelente introducción para todas las nuevas generaciones que no conocían a este grupo de ninjas enmascarados. Te animo a verla, con la mente abierta, un domingo por la tarde, con la familia o con los más pequeños.. si nunca has sido muy cercano a la franquicia, tal vez esto es algo nuevo e interesante qué capaz te atrape, sin necesidad de tramas oscuras o muy complicadas para hacerlo parecer un producto más “adulto”. Es divertida, tiene su corazón y sin duda me dejó con muchas ganas de seguir viendo a estos personajes..le doy una calificación de 9.3/10.

Equilibra muy bien lo clásico con la innovación. Te ofrece una experiencia familiar y al mismo tiempo algo que se siente nuevo, y mucho más con esa animación tan genial que está claramente inspirada en la animación vista en Spiderman: A Cross The Spiderverse. Me alegra que la animación esté ganando fuerza otra vez. Y bueno, espero que estén bien, que les haya gustado mi reseña, y que se animen a ver esta joya. Nos vemos en las próximas reseñas! Byebye
