This time I want to share with you another review of an anime series that I loved, and that has become quite popular lately in the anime world, although many people abandoned the show when it reached its second season, some who had already seen the manga of this series, had already commented something related to the change of pace it would have, and that could affect the interest in some viewers... Even I also had my doubts, since the first season I had liked a lot and I was afraid that things would change too much, and that a series that I really liked would lower its quality a lot. Today I want to share my personal opinion about this series and this issue, without a doubt it has become one of those series that I always recommend to people who are just entering the world of anime. Personally the truth is that the Vikings and all its setting had not called my attention, it was until I got to this series where I finally caught the Nordic world, and I wanted to know more about it, it was my first contact with this whole paradigm that has already captivated many, and thank goodness I gave it a chance!

En esta ocasión les quiero compartir otra reseña de una serie anime que amé, y que se ha hecho bastante popular últimamente en el mundo del anime, aunque muchas personas abandonaron la obra al llegar su segunda temporada, algunos que ya habían visto el manga de esta serie, ya habían comentado algo relacionado al cambio de ritmo que tendría, y que podría afectar el interés en algunos espectadores… Incluso yo también tuve mis dudas, ya que la primera temporada e había gustado bastante y tenía ese miedo de que las cosas cambiaran demasiado, y que una serie que me gustaba mucho bajara mucho de calidad. Hoy les quiero compartir mi opinión personal respecto a esta serie y este asunto, sin lugar a duda se ha convertido en una de esas series que siempre recomiendo a personas que están apenas entrando al mundo del anime. Personalmente la verdad es que los vikingos y toda su ambientación no me había llamado la atención, fue hasta que llegue a esta serie donde por fin me atrapo el mundo nórdico, y quise saber más de él, fue mi primer contacto con todo este paradigma que ya ha cautivado a muchos, y menos mal le di una oportunidad!

That it would be different. When I finished the first chapter, I felt that I was in for a very good story, and so it was. I found myself with a series full of action, but also with a lot of plot background, at the beginning of the first chapter I already imagined where the shots would go, but it was still very sentimental at the end of this one... we are introduced to the character of Thors, a great Viking warrior who has decided to leave the weapons and reject violence, something that surprises... When we are introduced to his ideologies and personality they do it in a very good way, all that seed of trying to do good is raised very well, then we move to his son, Thorfinn, who has witnessed a tragedy that will mark him completely, and where the plot quickly begins to move, we change to the beginning of the whole spiral of hatred, accompanied by the classic thirst for revenge that motivated much to our protagonist throughout the first season ...

Desde el comienzo que empecé a ver este anime, un día cualquiera, luego de ver que le estaba yendo muy bien.. En ese momento, tuve la sensación de estar frente a un anime que sin duda sería curioso.. Que sería diferente. Al terminar el primer capítulo, sentí que me esperaba una muy buena historia, y así fue. Me encontré con una serie llena de acción, pero también con mucho trasfondo argumental, al arrancar el primer capítulo ya me imaginaba por donde irían los tiros, pero igual fue muy sentimental el final de este.. nos presentan al personaje de Thors, un gran guerrero vikingo que ha decidido dejar las armas y rechazar la violencia, algo que sorprende.. Al presentarnos sus ideologías y personalidad lo hacen de una manera muy buena, se plantea muy bien toda esa semilla de intentar hacer el bien, luego pasamos a su hijo, Thorfinn, que ha presenciado una tragedia que lo marcara completamente, y donde rápidamente la trama se comienza a mover, cambiamos al inicio de todo el espiral de odio, acompañado de la clásica sed de venganza que motivara mucho a nuestro protagonista durante toda la primera temporada..

I have to admit that at the beginning some things were a little slow for me, but then, a few chapters later when the young Viking passes his childhood and enters the stage of adolescence, the plot really takes off in a very cool way. At this moment is when this anime becomes a vortex of emotions that ends up trapping you completely, all the action-packed scenes begin, where we see the invasions, looting, and fights between these bloody Vikings. All this atmosphere of hopelessness is transmitted in a quite credible way... but what really impresses is that beyond the action, this anime gradually makes you reflect on many things, including the human perspective in the face of misfortunes, and the bad luck that some unfortunate people have. Thorfinn's quest for revenge, along with the search for happiness that we long for, makes you feel quite emotional, and as the chapters go by you gradually begin to empathize with the protagonist, and see how he becomes a well-rounded character.

Tengo que reconocer que al principio algunas cosas me resultaron algo lento, pero luego, unos capítulos después, cuando el joven vikingo pasa su niñez y entra a la etapa de la adolescencia, la trama realmente despega de una manera muy genial. En este momento es cuando este anime se transforme en un vórtice de emociones que te termina atrapando por completo, empiezan todas las escenas de muchísima acción, donde vemos las invasiones, saqueos, y luchas entre estos sangrientos vikingos. Toda esta atmosfera de desesperanza se transmite de una manera bastante creíble.. pero lo que realmente impresiona es que más allá de la acción, este anime poco a poco te hace reflexionar sobre muchas cosas, incluida la perspectiva humana ante las desgracias, y la mala suerte que tienen algunos desafortunados. Toda la búsqueda de venganza de Thorfinn, junto con esa búsqueda de la felicidad que tanto anhelamos, hace que te emociones bastante, de igual manera conforme pasan los capítulos poco a poco empiezas a empatizar con el protagonista, y ves cómo se convirtiendo en un personaje redondo.

Other characters within this story, like Askeladd or Canuto also have an excellent character construction, you can appreciate all the growth that little by little they have, and how the motivations of their actions are really understandable, you can perceive that humanity that is born, but at the same time is lost in these characters... Mainly, Askeladd above all I found fascinating, he's that kind of villain that has his moral chiaroscuros, he's been through so much, and that makes his character a very deep one, and he doesn't become the typical random antagonist with no joke or real motivations, he's a pretty complete character. And well... To talk about the second season... it is true that the change of pace is quite noticeable, and it is difficult to talk about it without making spoilers, it is true that when it premiered many abandoned the show, because they were used to battles... blood... fights to the death with a good dose of originality, but where the main focus was on violence and revenge. But the truth is that I was surprised for good, we can see the growth of our protagonist and how we realize that people really can be better if they put their mind to it... I was quite happy with this last season, it was one of the best plot-wise, and it gave me several very sentimental and touching moments that easily make anyone cry in spurts. Not everything in entertainment is fighting and action, sometimes it's easy to get blinded by this, I can only say that for the people who abandoned season 2, they missed a lot... It really is a gem, we see how this work can expand and transform to give us the best of it, give us quality. Without a doubt, I prefer the growth and development of characters to the fights that are there just to satisfy the need for violence and action, but do not contribute anything. Likewise, this second season also has its moments of action, and moments that make you angry and helpless, its script is simply incredible... but I encourage you to check it out for yourselves. I give this gem a well-deserved 9.5/10. It has easily made it into my favorites, and that's pretty hard, this series keeps you entertained, surprises a lot narratively. No doubt if you give it a chance, it will touch your soul in many ways. I want to share with you the incredible Opening/Intro that this great anime has, it was very difficult to choose one of the four that it has... all of them are amazing!!! I recommend you to take a look at it, I'm sure you'll be even more encouraged to watch this great work.

Otros personajes dentro de esta historia, como Askeladd o Canuto cuentan también con una construcción de personaje excelente, se puede apreciar todo el crecimiento que poco a poco tienen, y como las motivaciones de sus actos son realmente entendibles, se percibe esa humanidad que nace, pero a la vez se pierde en estos personajes.. Principalmente, Askeladd sobre todo me pareció fascinante, es ese tipo de villano que tiene sus claroscuros morales, ha pasado por tanto, y eso vuelve a su personaje uno muy profundo, y no se convierte en el típico antagonista aleatorio sin chiste ni motivaciones reales, es un personaje bastante completo. Y bueno.. Para hablar de la segunda temporada.. es verdad que el cambio de ritmo se nota bastante, y es difícil hablar de este sin hacer spoilers, es cierto que cuando se estrenó muchos abandonaron la obra, ya que estaban acostumbrados a batallas.. sangre.. peleas a muerte con su buena dosis de originalidad, pero donde el foco principal estaba en la violencia y la venganza. Pero la verdad a mí me sorprendió para bien, podemos ver el crecimiento de nuestro protagonista y como nos damos cuenta de que las personas en verdad pueden ser mejores si se lo proponen.. Estuve bastante conforme con esta última temporada, fue de lo mejor argumentalmente, y me dio varios momentos muy sentimentales y conmovedores que fácilmente hacen llorar a chorros a cualquiera. No todo en el entretenimiento es pelea y acción, a veces es fácil cegarse por esto, solo puedo decir que para las personas que abandonaron la temporada 2, se perdieron de mucho.. Realmente es toda una joya, vemos como esta obra puede expandirse y transformarse para darnos lo mejor de ella, darnos calidad. Sin lugar a duda, prefiero el crecimiento y desarrollo de personajes a las peleas que están ahí solo para satisfacer las necesidades de violencia y acción, pero que no aportan nada. De igual manera, esta segunda temporada también tiene sus momentos de acción, y momentos que te dan rabia e impotencia, su guion es simplemente increíble.. pero los animo a comprobarlo por ustedes mismos. Le doy a esta joya un buen merecido 9.5/10. Fácilmente ha entrado entre mis favoritos, y eso es bastante difícil, esta serie te mantiene entretenido, sorprende mucho narrativamente. Sin duda si le das una oportunidad, te tocará el alma de muchas maneras. Les quiero compartir el increíble Opening/Intro que tiene este gran anime, fue muy difícil escoger uno de los cuatro que tiene... todos son increíbles!! Les recomiendo darle un vistazo, seguro terminan animándose aún más a ver esta gran obra.
