Arthur Christmas; CineTv Contest

This is an animated Christmas film that conveys the story of Santa's clumsy but compassionate son who takes it upon himself to deliver a present to a child, accidentally left out.

The first scene opened with a girl named Gwen who wrote a letter to Santa asking if he was real and how he always got to deliver Christmas presents to millions of kids around the world. She ended her letter requesting "a pink twinkle bike with stabilizers" for her Christmas present.

In Aarhus, Eastern Denmark, Santa (Malcolm Claus) carried out his 70th operation with his elves who assisted him in delivering Christmas presents to kids all over the world on Christmas Eve. This sophisticated operation was spearheaded by Santa's eldest son—Steve Claus. Steve Claus did most of the actual work as his father, Santa Claus, was near retirement, in fact, Steve was the next in line to take over.

However, Santa Claus' second son, Arthur was always overlooked because of his very clumsy nature. Arthur was only in charge of replying to letters sent from all over the world to Santa. The 70th operation of Santa was almost successful until a child was accidentally missed. Steve felt it was just a child that was left out and regarded it as insignificant, but Arthur disagreed with this. He tried convincing his elder brother—Steve, to deliver the Christmas presents to Gwen (the child who was left out) before Christmas but Steve was adamant. Arthur became determined to deliver the presents to Gwen (as he couldn’t bear the thought of a child waking up on Christmas without a present) and set off on his mission with his old-fashioned grandfather (Grand Santa).

The Claus family no longer used reindeer and sleigh for gifts delivery, Grand Santa tried to prove that the use of reindeer and sleigh like in the old was still important.
He used his long-retired sleigh, which he named Eve, and a team of old reindeer for this mission. An elf from the wrapping division, who shared Arthur's passion for ensuring every child received their gifts, joined them also on this mission.

While on this mission, they experienced mechanical failures, obstacles, got stuck and even almost eaten by lions. But above all, Arthur learnt important lessons and successfully delivered the presents to Gwen. This act of selflessness proved his love for Christmas was genuine, which automatically made him the best person to become the next Santa Claus.

The movie emphasized the importance of every child to be loved, the power of compassion, perseverance and the true spirit of Christmas. Arthur Christmas explores themes of comedy, adventure, emotional depth and top-tier visuals.

Rating 4.5 out of 5 stars. It’s available to watch on Netflix and suitable for both adults and kids.

One of my favorites Christmas films, I love how they try to come with a logical explanation for the Santa's gift delivery system
