(ESP-ENG) Bad Boys: Ride or Die - Movie Review!

In cinema there are many iconic sagas, to list them would be infinite but the one that I would say that could be compared to this one is Lethal Weapon where we saw Mel Gibson and Danny Glover fighting all kinds of conspiracies, mafias and a long etc. Bad Boys is the modern counterpart of those cops where Will Smith's chemistry with Martin Lawrence is undeniable and one of the best things about this movie. Before watching this new installment I had to catch up with the previous one that came out in 2020, it's necessary because there are certain threads that need to be followed up on. Personally I'm not going to say that it was the best of the 4, because for me the 2, the one from 2003, is one of the best. But it is true that this one surprised me, I did not expect such an action-packed installment.
As I said this story begins some time after the events of film number 3, where Mike Lowrey's son, Armando Aretas is imprisoned for having belonged to the cartel of his deceased mother. The thing is that despite the calm there was a new problem arises and is that there is a kind of conspiracy to incriminate and tarnish the names of the police which was led by the also dead Captain Howard. In the end it is all a kind of revenge to shut mouths since this group was being investigated by the said captain. Now with their reputations in question, they will have to do their best to try to get to the bottom of the whole situation.
The true essence of these films lies in the combination of comedy and action, in how in the middle of a chase they can make comments and interpretations that are able to get a laugh out of the viewer or during the biggest exchange of gunfire you can imagine there is still the opportunity for a joke, that's where the magic of these films lies. And all this is achieved thanks to the chemistry and complicity that exists between Smith and Lawrence, I think it is one of the things that remains intact despite the passing of the years and you have to remember that the first film of these came out 27 years ago.
The plot never gets boring, on the contrary, it always manages to constantly make things happen; if it is not at a criminal level, it is something related to their personal lives but there is always an eventuality. As I mentioned the action is supreme, all the scenes involving chases, fights, police operations, shootings, explosions, etc. are very well done. It is very easy that these things are a little weak considering that both protagonists are not 30 years old, we are talking about Will Smith is 55 years old and Martin 59 and despite this we must recognize that in everything where they appeared they developed it very well.
There is something I also like and it is the evolution of the characters, in essence they are the same but deep down all their motivations, those desires to always be in the eye of the hurricane are changing because time passes, there are people who are part of their lives and you have to think about them a little, that is, they are still reckless but perhaps with a little more mind and sanity. At the level of the other characters for me they are secondary, the plot are these two and the others revolve around them, without more. Not for this we are not going to belittle those roles, all were adequate and contributing what was necessary for the story to flow as it should.
I think there will be no more installments and that's okay, you have to know how to say enough is enough. I thought that everything was over in the third one but no. I have to say that the end of this movie felt a little cold, usually there is a certain familiarity or warmth but here I didn't see it, it wasn't bad but it was a little bit wrong, rushed. The film closes well in the sense of all the characters, each one is well positioned with respect to the plot of all the films. In the end it is a very good movie, I knew what I could get in terms of the usual formula but it ended up being something very enjoyable. A 7/10 I can give it, I think if you are a fan of the saga is worth to see it and make the closure. Below is the trailer in case you haven't seen it.

Still need to watch this one myself, I enjoyed the original ones and Martin Lawrence is always a fun person on screen.
He still is, he's one of the most genuinely funny guys out there. I really enjoyed it, it's a very good movie.
Esta película logro superar todas las expectativas y si duda una vez más ese dúo de policías son lo máximo y permite enganchar y recrear una trama única y de muy buena calidad. Además he tenido la oportunidad de ver todas y se nota ese gran avance que existe en cada una y siempre buscan sobresalir y agregar aspectos únicos y nuevos. Esperemos que siempre se mantenga así y ver si esta saga continuará.
No se si va a seguir, tengo entendido que no pero capaz sorprenden.
En lo personal si, me pareció muy top la película, vi la tercera y la cuarta seguidas y ambas fueron bastante buenas pero me quedo con esta última.
