Las ceremonias de premios en lo personal son una cosa que no me gustan, por lo general se hacen muy largas y tediosas y son la plataforma para que los animadores/comediantes hagan sus rutinas y pongan incómodo a más de uno, pasó en los Oscar y obviamente pasó el domingo. Pienso también que con el pasar del tiempo cada vez son menos las personas a las que realmente no les importan estos premios, el interés a mermado mucho con base en la media de espectadores. Yo todavía no he llegado a ese punto, siempre estoy pendiente de los nominados y por supuesto de los ganadores a medida que los van anunciando. Este año no fue la excepción, no vi la ceremonia pero al ser el 2023 un año creo yo bastante bueno para el cine, mi interés era un poco más grande.
The award ceremonies personally are one thing I don't like, they usually become very long and tedious and are the platform for entertainers/comedians to do their routines and make more than one person uncomfortable, it happened at the Oscars and obviously it happened on Sunday. I also think that as time goes by there are less and less people who don't really care about these awards, the interest has diminished a lot based on the average viewership. I haven't reached that point yet, I always keep an eye on the nominees and of course the winners as they are announced. This year was no exception, I didn't watch the ceremony but since 2023 is a pretty good year for movies, my interest was a little higher.
Es por eso que hoy vamos a hablar de lo más relevante para mi en esa lista de ganadores, unos muy obvios y esperados pero otros no tanto lo que supuso para mi una grata sorpresa. La primera de esas sorpresas fue la ganadora a la mejor película animada: Kimitachi wa Dō Ikiru ka o el Chico y la Garza. Estamos hablando de un film dirigido por Hayao Miyazaki, creador de El viaje de Chihiro, un director ganador de Oscar y que es de los más top de la industria. En lo personal no la tenía en el radar, siempre pensé que sería la de Spider-Verse sin ninguna duda o incluso siendo más arriesgados la misma de Super Mario Bros. Esto fue una de esas gratas sorpresas de las que estoy seguro pocos se esperaban.
That is why today we are going to talk about the most relevant for me in that list of winners, some of them very obvious and expected but others not so much, which was a pleasant surprise for me. The first of those surprises was the winner for best animated film: Kimitachi wa Dō Ikiru ka or The Boy and the Heron. We are talking about a film directed by Hayao Miyazaki, creator of Spirited Away, an Oscar-winning director and one of the top directors in the industry. Personally I didn't have it on my radar, I always thought it would be Spider-Verse without a doubt or even being more risky the same of Super Mario Bros. This was one of those pleasant surprises that I'm sure few expected.

Hablar del éxito de Oppenheimer creo que sería redundar, era algo que todo el mundo sabía que iba a pasar. El papel o la interpretación mejor dicho de Cillian Murphy fue algo extraordinario, es sumergirse en un personaje denso con una historia densa y pesada y eso tiene mucho mérito, no había manera que Bradley Cooper o el propio Di Caprio le compitieran este premio. También se llevó mejor película dramática, mejor director y actor de reparto. En estas tres categorías no existía dudas al respecto, era muy complicado que cualquier cosa diferente ganase por encima del trabajo de Nolan. Es que hasta la banda sonora se la llevó. Con estos premios ya sabemos más o menos quienes serán los grandes ganadores para los Oscar el 10 de marzo.
To talk about the success of Oppenheimer I think it would be redundant, it was something that everyone knew was going to happen. The role or rather the interpretation of Cillian Murphy was something extraordinary, he immersed himself in a dense character with a dense and heavy story and that has a lot of merit, there was no way that Bradley Cooper or Di Caprio himself could compete with him for this award. The Bear, para mi fue la gran ganadora de esa noche llevándose los tres premios más relevantes. Yo sabía que iba a triunfar porque la serie que empezó siendo una más del montón se terminó convirtiendo en algo extremadamente bueno de ver. Ya con la segunda temporada lista y la tercera anunciada esta ha sido una de las mejores comedias dramáticas que he visto últimamente, la forma en como llevan la trama, la construcción de los personajes, la química que tiene que haber para que las escenas terminen siendo tan estresantes y graciosas al mismo tiempo tiene que ser muy grande. Porque si, el verdadero gancho de esta serie es lo absurda que puede ser la convivencia en ese restaurante y que al mismo tiempo todos trabajen o actúen para lograr el mismo objetivo.
The Bear, for me was the big winner of the night taking the three most relevant awards. I knew it was going to triumph because the series that started out as just another one of the bunch ended up becoming something extremely good to watch. Already with the second season ready and the third announced this has been one of the best dramatic comedies I've seen lately, the way they carry the plot, the construction of the characters, the chemistry that has to be there for the scenes to end up being so stressful and funny at the same time has to be great. Because yes, the real hook of this series is how absurd the coexistence in that restaurant can be and that at the same time everyone works or acts to achieve the same goal.

Las almas de esta historia son sin ningún cuestionamiento Jeremy Allen White y Ayo Edebiri quienes lógicamente se llevaron sus respectivos Golden Globes. Tampoco tenían competencia en las categorías, puede que la de Ayo se la pudiera haber peleado con Quinta Brunson de Abbott Elementary pero hasta ahí. En cuanto a Jeremy que le haya quitado la hegemonía a Jason Sudeikis es de las cosas que más aplaudo, suficiente de Ted Lasso, unos premios más a esa serie no los aguantaba nadie más, por lo menos yo. The Bear creo que llegó para quedarse, honestamente desconozco los planes a largo plazo más allá de la tercera temporada pero creo que tiene el potencial para ser una serie que marque una época, tiene personajes muy iconicos pero sobretodo es la vibra de la serie lo que la hace tan espectacular.
The souls of this story are unquestionably Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri who logically took home their respective Golden Globes. They also had no competition in the categories, maybe Ayo's could have fought it out with Abbott Elementary's Quinta Brunson but that's as far as it went. As for Jeremy taking the hegemony away from Jason Sudeikis is one of the things I applaud the most, enough about Ted Lasso, a few more awards to that series no one else would put up with, at least not me. The Bear I think it's here to stay, I honestly don't know the long term plans beyond the third season but I think it has the potential to be a series that will mark an era, it has very iconic characters but above all it's the vibe of the series that makes it so spectacular.
Y otra historia que también quiero mencionar porque no quisiera que pasara por debajo de la mesa es BEEF, ganadora de mejor miniserie juntos a sus dos protagonistas Steven Yeun y Ali Wong. Yo hice la reseña respectiva y en aquella oportunidad dije que era de las mejores cosas que había visto en el año. Pero, que tiene esta miniserie que ha sido tan alabada? - para mi es la cotidianidad de la historia. Basicamente todo empieza con un altercado en un estacionamiento, muy común y que le puede pasar a cualquiera y raíz de allí se crea una especie de resentimiento con ira y rabia entre los dos personajes al punto de que se crea un "beef" entre ellos que se sale un poco de las manos.

Digo cotidianidad porque estoy seguro que esos sentimientos todos los hemos sentido alguna vez, de estar interactuando con alguien en algun sitio publico y de repente esta persona tiene una personalidad determinada y termina haciendo algo que nos molesta y que nos daña el día completo. Pues de esto va esta miniserie que desde ya les digo que si no la han visto corran y lo hagan porque de verdad no tiene pérdida. Me gustó mucho que se reconociera el trabajo de ambos actores porque la trama no sería la misma sin ellos, sobretodo Ali Wong, ella me sorprendió mucho, tiene unas escenas bastante top y que dan mucho de qué hablar.
I say everyday because I'm sure we've all felt those feelings at some time, of interacting with someone in a public place and suddenly this person has a certain personality and ends up doing something that bothers us and damages our whole day. Well, this is what this miniseries is about and I tell you that if you haven't seen it yet, run and do it because you really can't miss it. I really liked that the work of both actors was recognized because the plot would not be the same without them, especially Ali Wong, she surprised me a lot, she has some pretty top scenes that give a lot to talk about.
Y bueno para finalizar hay que hablar de Barbie. Muchos decían, quizás yo en al algún momento, que la película de Greta Gerwig iba a arrasar y miren, no fue así y gracias a Dios. Se llevó dos premios, el del logro de taquilla que si fue una locura y la mejor canción original a cargo de Billie Eilish. No era posible que Margot Robbie ganara sobre Emma Stone, que era la categoría más comentada al estar ella nominada. Se habló mucho del por qué no nominaron a Ryan Gosling, yo tambien me lo pregunto pero supongo que no tendremos respuesta a eso o quizás si la sabemos pero no la queremos decir al aire. Por los momentos a esperar los Emmys y próximamente los Oscars.
And finally we have to talk about Barbie. Many said, maybe I at some point, that Greta Gerwig's movie was going to sweep the board and look, it didn't and thank God. It took two awards, the box office achievement award which was crazy and the best original song by Billie Eilish. It was not possible for Margot Robbie to win over Emma Stone, which was the most talked about category as she was nominated. There was a lot of talk about why Ryan Gosling wasn't nominated, I wonder too but I guess we won't have an answer to that or maybe we do but we don't want to say it on the air. For the moment we are waiting for the Emmys and soon the Oscars.

For me it was Robert Downey Jr. who steals the show on Oppenheimer, he won best supporting actor, although the movie disappointing me, it was not bad but expect something different I did like his performance something way different after so many marvel movies ✌️
Robert's role in the movie was really good, his performance was ten out of ten. Marvel movies are something different, even being Iron Man he acted better than many of the avengers.
Yo he tenido muchas ganas de ver la película the boy and the heron, pero no la he encontrado en ningún lado la verdad. No estuve viendo al 100% los premios pero si trate de estar bastante pendiente de cada cosita, quede loca con lo que le paso a selena gomez Jajajaj. Por su parte, me hizo feliz que billie ganará a mejor canción original, siento que estaba super merecido por es obra de arte. Muy buen posttt
Creo que la atención al final se centró en las cosas más allá de los premios, tengo entendido que el animador hizo unos cuantos chistes que no cayeron bien a muchos. En lo personal me gusta ese humor pero a muchos no.
Yo también ando buscando esa película, supongo que en nada saldrá en digital. Para ganarle a la de Spiderman tiene que ser realmente buena.

Quería que ganara Scorsese pero igual me alegra por Nolan, ambos son directores en mi lista de favoritos. Ya los Oscar lo tienen asegurado.
