I started watching the movie because of Jenna Ortega, and I stayed watching it because I needed what this crazy movie was going to end up in, and yes, it was total madness from the beginning, to the end, once sanity goes out the door after the fifteen minutes there is nothing to put sense back into everything we are watching, because once we think we know what's going on, no, everything changes again and we no longer know what's real or not in this movie, which just says it's about comedy and horror, but also mixes in a bit of science fiction, and that's all I'll say about it.

American Carnage is totally crazy, I don't think they ever mentioned the name, and if they did, I missed it, but in one of the US states the governor declared a zero tolerance law towards illegal immigrants and their children, no matter if they have US citizenship, so they incarcerate them in concentration camp types, only they don't kill them, or so we thought, but well, they give them the option to go free only if they enter an elderly assistance program where they will be taking care of the elderly, and that's just where it all goes to shit, both in a good way, and in a bad way, and there is nothing we can do about it.

Comencé a ver la película por Jenna Ortega, y me quedé viéndola porque necesitaba en qué iba a terminar esta locura de película, y sí, fue una locura total desde el principio, hasta el final, una vez la cordura sale por la puerta después de los quince minutos no hay nada que vuelva a ponerle sentido a todo lo que estamos viendo, porque una vez creemos saber lo que está pasando, no, todo vuelve a cambiar y ya no sabemos qué es real o no en esta película, que solo dice que es sobre comedia y terror, pero también mezcla un poco de ciencia ficción, y eso es lo único que diré al respecto.

American Carnage es una locura total, creo que nunca mencionaron el nombre, y si lo hicieron, me lo perdí, pero en uno de los estados de Estados Unidos el gobernador declaró una ley de cero tolerancia hacia los inmigrantes ilegales y sus hijos, sin importar que estos tengan la nacionalidad estadounidense, así que los encarcelan en tipos campos de concentración, solo que no los matan, o eso creíamos, pero bueno, les dan la opción de salir en libertad solo si entran en un programa de ayuda a personas mayores donde estarán cuidando a ancianos, y es justo ahí donde todo se va a la mierda, tanto en una buena manera, como en una mala, y no hay nada que podamos hacer al respecto.

This movie has a very rare combination, but too rare, and it's not that you can mix horror and comedy, but the way they did it here was too real on one hand, and then they add the unreality section, making you not only lose sight of the main point you're talking about, but it's that at the same time that's well done, the transitions and genre changes are done very well, even if it doesn't seem right to mix one thing with the other, but it's good anyway, and that's the only reason I'm doing this review to recommend this movie, which I don't know how many months Prime had recommending it to me, but I finally saw it, and it was worth watching this crazy movie.

The black humor regarding how racist America is is strong, it's too black, it almost makes you feel guilty for laughing, but don't worry, you can do it, even if you feel like you are being part of the problem. During the first minutes of the movie there is a speech about the purity of the United States, at the same time they show images and videos referring to Latin American people, and I can tell you that at the moment when they showed JLo saying 'Mi gente latino' I died of laughter, I cried and had to pause the movie for several minutes until I calmed down, at that moment I stopped watching the movie seriously and I knew it was not going to be normal at all, and indeed, it was not normal at all, but nothing made me laugh more than that clip of JLo at the beginning.

Esta película tiene una combinación muy rara, pero demasiado rara, y no es que se pueda mezclar el terror y la comedia, si no que la forma en que lo hicieron aquí fue demasiado real por una parte, y luego le agregan el apartado de irrealidad, haciendo no solo que se pierda de vista el punto principal del que se está hablando, pero es que a la vez eso está bien hecho, las transiciones y los cambios de género están hechos muy bien, aunque no parezca bien mezclar una cosa con la otra, pero está bien de todas formas, y solo por eso es que estoy haciendo esta reseña para recomendar esta película, que no sé cuántos meses Prime tenía recomendándomela, pero al fin vi, y sí valió la pena ver esta locura de película.

El humor negro en cuanto a lo racista que es Estados Unidos es fuerte, es demasiado negro, hace casi que te sientas culpable de reírte, pero no se preocupen, pueden hacerlo, aunque sientan que están siendo parte del problema. Durante los primeros minutos de la película hay un discurso referente a la pureza de Estados Unidos, a la vez que muestran imágenes y videos referentes a personas latinoaméricanas, y puedo decirles que en el momento en el que pasaron a JLo diciendo 'Mi gente latino' morí de la risa, lloré y tuve que ponerle pausa a la película por varios minutos hasta que me calmé, en ese momento dejé de ver con seriedad la película y supe no iba a ser para nada normal, y en efecto, no fue nada normal, pero nada me hizo reir más que ese clip de JLo en al inicio.

I would like to say many things regarding the plot, but no, I can't, because that would only allow you to discover all the twists that the plot is going to have, and no, that can't happen, you have to watch the movie and be left with a WTF expression when many things happen, because even if you think you know what's going on, in reality it's not going to be like that, in reality it's not going to be like that, and even if certain things are right, you don't know what was the process by which everything came to be the way it ended up, and since we will want to know what they made up, we will keep watching it, just to get to think that those people were really high when they decided to put everything they put in the movie.

The biggest problem with the movie is that the horror scenes are going to seem to end up coming out of an exorcism movie at the least, aliens at the most, and the explanation they are going to give them is going to be very sci-fi, which although it ends up being coherent in a certain sense, the mix of those genres was not a good mix for the theme that was being treated, which as I said, starts being about Latino immigrants, and ends up in something completely hallucinatory that should not be expected in a movie like this.

Quisiera decir muchas cosas con respecto a la trama, pero no, no puedo, porque eso solo permitiría que descubrieran todos los giros que va a tener la trama, y no, eso no puedo suceder, tiene que ver la película y quedar con una expresión de WTF cuando muchas cosas pasen, porque aunque crean saber lo que está pasando, en realidad no va a ser así, y si bien se aciertan ciertas cosas, no se sabe cuál fue el proceso mediante el cual todo llegó a estar como terminó, y como vamos a querer saber qué cosa se inventan, la seguiremos viendo, solo para llegar a pensar que esa gente estaba bien drogada cuando decidieron poner todo lo que pusieron en la película.

El mayor problema que tiene la película es que las escenas de terror van a parecer terminando saliendo de una película de exorcismos como mínimo, de aliens como máximo, y la explicación que les van a dar va a ser muy de ciencia ficción, que si bien termina siendo coherente en cierto sentido, la mezcla de esos géneros como que no fue una buena mezcla para el tema que se estaba tratando, que como ya dije, comienza siendo sobre los inmigrantes latinos, y termina en algo completamente alucinante que no se debería esperar en una película como esta.

La película es muy buena, pero también muy mala, o quizás no mala, pero llega a perder credibilidad cuando mezcla demasiadas cosas y se va por las ramas de una historia que no tenía nada que ver con nada, todo cierra a la perfección, pero es que metieron cosas muy hilarantes y no, las cosas no son así, quisieron abarcar mucho con una película tan corta, ah, no, no es corta, pero me lo pareció.
